Tugayisgod Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Exclusive By Alan Nixon Chelsea’s bid to sign super teen Camden Schaper has hit an agonising snag that has left the kid in limbo. The London giants have agreed a stunning £750,000 deal with Blackburn Rovers for the 13-year-old wonder. However there is a huge paperwork problem as Schaper is South African and only joined Blackburn’s academy when they got special permission for him to be in the country. Schaper came to England with his family 18 months ago and was granted residency status to play for Rovers as a young hopeful. But if Chelsea want to sign Schaper and take him permanently they need to apply for a VISA and that may not be successful because of his age. And in a further twist Chelsea do not want to spend the money and then risk being snubbed by the government about signing the whizz kid. The process can only be gone through once the transfer is complete - and that also could impact the player. If Schaper is not granted a visa to play he would not have a club and be unable to move to any British team until he applies again - a year later. It is a troubling hurdle for all parties to face and Schaper is currently still at Blackburn until Chelsea decide whether to take the gamble with the bureaucratic system. Chelsea’s legal team are looking into the problem while Schaper continues to train and play for the Rovers academy. 7 Quote

joey_big_nose Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) We cant be at all sure how good the window is until the players we bought have a decent run of games - probably till end of October. But the balance of probability based on the lack of Championship track record for any of them is from absolutely disastrous to surprisingly okay. So somewhere between 1/10 (massive downgrade) to 5/10 (just about maintained the overall quality) Its very unlikely we will have improved overall. But stranger things have happened in the Championship I suppose. We get the "fun" of finding out. We are ultimately comparing Gudjonsen vs Weiman McCloughlin vs Batth Miller vs Hyam Alebiouso vs Brittain Baradji vs Travis Morishita vs Dolan Henrickson vs Leonard Gardner-Hickman vs JRC Tavares vs Buckley De Neve vs Owen Beck Plus how Montgomery and Tyjon step up. Tomphil2 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Why is Nixon obsessed with Blackburn Rovers academy kids ? The non stories he puts out aren't even newsworthy and rarely something you see in regards to other clubs academies. Almost as if he is trying to draw attention to our kids for some reason....... 2 Quote

If I was to nit pick, I would also say Henriksen is the replacement for Weimann, & Gudjohnsen is the replacement for Leonard (at least until Gueye gets sold to Turkey this week), rather than the other way around Edit, also De Neve for Beck Edited 2 hours ago by KentExile 3 Quote

BankEnd Rover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The players we've signed won't be the reason we'll struggle, it will be down to the manager. I like most of our signing and think all will make an impact, bar De Neve. Quote

I think you're crediting them too much with something approximating to a plan there. He was a warm body still available and brought into the building at the last minute after Hyam left. Hyam hasnt been replaced like for like. Quote

He will get given plenty of time (the lack of experience and time to “gel” and “transitions”) will all be used as excuses for the struggles this season Edited 2 hours ago by BRFC. Quote

Pereira was better in the past but again his day has gone and he is mainly a sub. Roerslev hasnt shown he is better than Brittain either. 1 hour ago, chaddyrovers said: I think Van Ewijk and Pereira are the best 2 in the league. then about 5 or 6 players similar quality of player and Brittain is one of that 5/6 in He is working his way down the list now he has left. He was expecting to keep key players and only need to make 6 or 7 signings to build on that. Sure he is buzzing to lose all of the players we have and to see Hyam flogged without replacement on deadline day. If hes not had a moan about that behind closed doors then he really is all about not rocking the boat to stay on that nice long contract he wont get at another Championship club. Quote

Not sure why this has got 6 likes, is it only me who finds the fact we appear to view kids this age as an extra income stream fairly disgusting? If you're going to bring them in, at least develop them and then let's see them in the blue and white halves before we flog them on. 1 Quote

Pull the rug from under his feet by selling the cornerstones of your team and replace with untried foreigners. If it fails, nothing to do with them, it's all down to the manager ( who was pleading to keep these players) Just like JDT and Eustace, Ismael has both hands tied behind his back trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. If it goes tits up this season I won't be blaming Ismael, I'll know who's to blame 2 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The blame undoubtedly goes above Ismael but I do also think that he is a far inferior manager to what has gone before. Which just compounds the issue. Quote
