Out of contract players can sign for other clubs right now so if Derby have offer him a 2 years deal he would be asap, maybe this 2 years contract offer isn't correct?ย

No they canโ€™t.

Funny isn't it that all three of those clubs you name were taken over within the last few years despite all being in worse positions than us. Wrexham were a non-league outfit, Birmingham perennial Championship relegation strugglers with a collapsing stadium and Swansea the epitome of an average 2nd/3rd division club with a small fanbase.

Yet there remains a significant portion of Rovers' fanbase who have convinced themselves that for one reason or another there is no other viable option other than Venkys. No other people in a world of 7 billion with the clout or know-how to replace and do better than the architects of our demise. All these other clubs have managed it, but for some reason old Rovers wouldn't manage it.ย

It's baffling, it's bizarre, and I'm convinced it is totally wrong, yet the belief continues.

Until we get over that particular issue it's little wonder there's hardly any noise about Venkys apart from when another one of their self-inflicted debacles comes along e.g. Eustace walking out

They've had it so easy here over the years because so many are convinced they are necessary.ย

I think if anything they've had it so easy over here for years because we're powerless to rid ourselves of them.ย

They're arrogant billionaires who never fall foul of the EFL or HMRC - they always put in just enough money to satisfy the two bodies that could force them to sell the club.ย

They're despised by the vast majority of the fan base, but it's irrelevant to them as they simply never attend.ย

Yes they can't. How did we sign Ennis and Tronstad to contracts before their contracts ended at the previous?ย

How has Burgess signed for Swansea when his contracts ends hasn't end at Ipswich.ย

Nope, all three of those signed/will sign on 1st July. (After contracts expired/will expire)

โ€˜The 29-year-old defender will become a Swansea player on July 1, having agreed a three-year contract, with the club having faced considerable competition in securing his servicesโ€™

The fact deals were sorted and announced earlier would have been because their current club gave permission.

As we want to keep Batth that wonโ€™t be happening with him.

Plymouth wanted to keep Ennis. He rejected a contract offer to sign for Rovers.

You can sign a pre-contract agreement earlier, but the registration doesnโ€™t officially change until the end of the current contract.

If it works like it does in FM (I know...), once a player is within the final 6 months of his contract, he's free to discuss terms on a pre-agreement.

The owning club doesn't have a say in this, at that stage.

Once a deal is agreed, the transfer takes place upon expiry of the contract.

The onus for the owning club is to tie a contract up before you get to the final 6 months.

So if Derby are offering a 2 years contract to Batth he can accept the offer and announce the deal and joined them on 1st July.ย

Yet no deal has been announce by Derby and we dont even know if Derby have ever offer a 2 years contract.ย

Which was my main point all day ๐Ÿ‘

Theyโ€™d still have had to okay him signing the Roversโ€™ deal early and he still didnโ€™t officially join until 1st July.

ย Donโ€™t think so. He can just sign a pre-contract agreement at Rovers. Nothing Plymouth could do about it.

Nothing can be made official prior to July 1st unless Rovers agree.

Derby not announcing anything is proof of the square root of fuck all.

Iโ€™ve posted the relevant regulation as to when a player can negotiate a new deal.

Clearly things can be different with the current clubโ€™s permission.ย

Iโ€™m out now as if showing the regulation doesnโ€™t persuade people nothing else will.

For oversea transfers yes, for domestic no.

Anyways as I said, Iโ€™m out.

Youโ€™ve posted the regulation that says the player shall be free to seek registration with any club of his choice at the expiry of his current contract. Which is correct.

But you can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. Plymouth wanted to keep Ennis and offered him a contract, but he rejected it to move to Ewood. He signed a pre-contract with Rovers and Rovers announced it. His registration moved to Rovers on the 1/7/23

For overseas transfers you can sign a pre-contract with 6 months left. For UK to UK transfers itโ€™s within the final month of their contract.

If Derby had agreed with Batth and it was signed off they could announce it.ย

How is a pre-contract agreement anything other than seeking to register with another club?ย

If your position is correct then the regulation I quoted is completely redundant.

I canโ€™t find that one month rule, do you know where youโ€™ve seen it? (and Ennis was announced over a month before his contract expiredโ€ฆ)ย

(yes I know I said I was out, but felt it was courteous to reply since I was quoted).ย

If Batth had agreed a deal with Derby we would all know he never. Whether officially and unofficially.ย

Derby could announce but the player won't join until July. Correct?ย

The fact remain Batth hasn't join Derby which was the main point I was making today.ย

I wouldnโ€™t say c13,000 people as regular match goers is a small minority of the fanbase. Obviously plenty down on what we had in 2010, but itโ€™s still a sizeable sample of people for a club of our size.

We need to face facts, away from brfcs the majority of the fanbase just shrug their collective shoulders when it comes to the regime.
