We can only watch on with envious eyes as Ewood drowns in acceptance and apathy 4 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted yesterday at 11:23 Posted yesterday at 11:23 The core now is largely made up of ageing fans who've seen us middle of the road then great, then good and then just back to being middle of the road so they accept it as normal. And younger fans who've just grown up with what we are now - as the likes of me did in the mid 80's / early 90's and haven't seen anything different. So just accept it alongside falling for the 20 mill a year line. Many many of the passionate fans have actually got so angry with everything they've just walked away odd game aside because the whole thing has been hopeless. 3 Quote

The town itself doesn't help with the matchday experience, growing up there were so many pubs etc to visit and the town was absolutely booming. Saturdays shopping in town would be a write off - because rovers were at home! Now? 90% couldn't care less the town has moved on from the club and they have distanced themselves. 4 1 Quote

Missing out from away fans contributing as well. Club benefits from fleecing big followings but aside from the Fernhurst and a few taxi drivers not much else makes the most of it. Blackburn was the central focal point of East Lancs and far beyond for football, shopping and day/night out. What is it now ? Town and club absolutely mirror each other as shells of their former selves. Edited yesterday at 13:40 by Tomphil2 Quote
JHRover Posted yesterday at 13:41 Posted yesterday at 13:41 Many people have given up on Blackburn as a town and moved away to other areas, rarely coming back unless it is to visit the hospital etc. Make no mistake there are thousands of such people who are or were regular Ewood visitors, together with many thousands more who have never lived in Blackburn or Darwen and instead have always been based in other areas or regions yet have travelled to Ewood for matchdays. Sadly Rovers have made a decision to give up on such people and areas. In my opinion one of the most unforgivable and damaging acts of an extremely damaging group of people. 4 Quote

Would love to conduct a town centre survey and pose questions to the general public. Quote

Very sad but very true with regard to distance between club and town. Partly down to demographic and the town certainly hasn’t moved on in any positive way. Blackburn used to be a really top Friday / Saturday night with cracking, numerous and heaving pubs but today, there is hardly a town centre pub left. Quote
