Tyrone Shoelaces Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Who else is going tomorrow ? If I can acclimatise myself to the bloody weather I’ll be there. 30C and shorts and a tee shirt this time last week for me ! 1 Quote
KentExile Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) If anyone cannot make it, it looks like this (and all other games in this competition) is streamed free on the National Leagues youtube channel Edited September 16 by KentExile 1 1 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Two good goals by us. Tyjon is playing upfront. Dunn's son is playing, so are Batty, Powell, those two CBs (Litherland and Aitchenson?) and Wood. 1 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted September 16 Author Posted September 16 (edited) Decent first half, poor poor second. We never came out after half time. Also we never looked like coming back after going 3-2 down. We lost too many 50-50 balls. The subs were way too late, we were getting over run in central midfield after 55 minutes. Nobody is going to be knocking on the managers door tomorrow asking even for a place on the bench. Tijon ? The game passed him by, he’s certainly not an No 9 in a million years. Although he did win the John Buckley award for the most pointless booking in the game. They looked like a team that is used to losing to me. I expected more from Batty. Joseph came on too late and never got a pass. Edited September 16 by Tyrone Shoelaces 1 1 Quote
London blue Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I hope VI has the confidence and conviction to not play Tyjon if he doesn't deem it beneficial to the team in the short term. I've made my feelings on this clear, I have no interest in blooding him this year to improve him on the chance that he signs a contract, especially if it's at the potential expense of Championship points. Sign and play. Otherwise, best of luck. 1 Quote

London blue Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Precisely. Many more absent performances like today and Arsenal will look elsewhere. Quote

MarkBRFC Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Tyjon has been hyped up far too much, and because of that people are expecting far to much of him. He's not long turned 17, to be playing regularly for the 21's is a decent achievement. I have no doubt's he will leave in the summer, but ideally he should be signing that first pro contract, concentrating on having a decent season for the 21s, then maybe a loan next season before coming back and making a challenge for the first team in a couple of years time when he will be 19/20. 2 Quote
arbitro Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Missed chances and poor defending cost us dearly last night. The amazing sight of seeing two Rochdale players substituted in the first minute is something new for me after watching thousands of games. I counted four really good scoring opportunities but our finishing was poor. The positive side to that was the passing and movement to create them. For the three Rochdale goals we should have defended much better. On the night there were too many 6's when we needed a few more 7's and 8's. It's been a bad start to the season for the under 21's and there needs to be a bit improvement all round if we are to pick up some results. 2 Quote

There is a rule that you have to start x amount of players from your last league game in this competition, this was just a way of them getting around that rule. Forest Green went even further and substituted 4 players in the first minute! Edited September 17 by MarkBRFC 4 Quote

BRFC4EVA Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Amazing the lengths people will go to, to circumnavigate rules! What is this competition exactly? Quote

GHR Posted September 17 Posted September 17 They could avoid such absurdities by only allowing three subs from five like the good old days. Quote
