Ismael had to change tactics and formation in order to get results. That's clearly the right thing to do

The team is different to last season, playing a different way and different player. don't get this obsession of your comparing to last season team. in the first 12 games of this season to last, its more to last season team. Hardly ground breaking is it. Maybe move on with that point.

Yes we need a Hyam's replacement in the last window and I hope we bring one in or recall Connor O'Riordan back to the squad. That's give us 5 which is more than enough.

I don't your points on Baradji or TGH to be honest. its pointless comparing to Travis. Travis wanted out and he gone. Tavares has been disappointed so far

yes we need another striker in as discuss previously

Its not about comparisons to last season although sometimes it is relevant. You dont like it because it opens the door to pointing out faults with the club.

And its not just about having a certain number of players. We have a void in quality with Hyam leaving, we dont just need to bring back O'Riordan who was nowhere near our first team when here, he needs to be replaced properly.

Our lack of depth in defence and lack of quality in depth in midfield is just down to poor recruitment. Spending £2m on Tavares was really poor as was signing a player with a long term injury. We also have players in Gueye and Kargbo who have just been really poor signings by Gestede.

I agree that changing formation has worked out well short term but it naturally causes issues with the balance of the squad that will need rectifying if we are to commit to it. It also makes players like Ribeiro and Pickering surplus to requirements as they dont fit the system. I also cant see where Henriksson fits in with Cantwell and also Miroshita in the same position.

Ismael has had to think quickly when most of last seasons team more or less vanished. He’s had a good look at who can do what in which position with the new guys and he’s come up with the current 3-4-1-2. It suits the skill levels of the players we have. We need 3 centre halves because none of them are good enough to play well consistently in a 2. If frees up our two full backs to do what they do best which is to play as wing backs and attack. Also having two players up front helps because none of our existing strikers thrive playing up there on their own. I think playing Ohashi and Gudjohnsen is the best way of scoring goals. We just need Cantwell back as the one behind the strikers and I think we have a good shape and a really coherent way of playing. If we still had Trav and Tron in centre midfield we would look better still.

But you did it about clean sheets and I shown you there is 1 clean sheet in it. We have done an overhaul of the squad and its a new squad and I don't see any relevant comparing to last season

Yet again, that's your opinion, I would bring back O'Riordan myself. He is our player.

Lets see on Baradji before we write him off. Gueye and Kargbo are squad players now. both gambles and had some good moments but I would like to see us signing another striker in January

Well its depends if we stick to it but we have flexibility in formation and I think that's a good thing.

Morishita and Henriksson will play where they now if we stick to back 3.

Bit late but here's my ratings:

Starting XI:

Toth (8) - pulled off a fantastic save to deny Mavididi in second half. Has been a vital factor in securing our last two wins. Has the potential to become a top-end Championship goalie if he improves his left foot and distribution.

De Neve (6) - did OK before getting substituted at half-time for tactical reasons. Provides athleticism on the left hand side but still struggles with the physical aspect of the game.

McLoughlin (5) - thought he was quite poor and struggled to contain Fatawu at times. Doesn't look assured on the ball.

Wharton (4) - played poorly in my opinion. Was caught on the wrong side and didn't put his body behind the ball which gave Mavididi a great chance to score early in the second half. Later lost out on pace to Daka during a transition moment and had to be saved by Miller. Sorry to say this but he has become worse since the lengthy spell on the sidelines last season due to the serious injury. Winning a couple of headers isn't enough. We need to sign a center back in January if Carter can't be trusted to come back into full fitness and play regularly.

Miller (8) - has improved vastly over the past few weeks and stood for a commanding performance with his battling attitude. Tackled, intercepted, tracked back and even helped his teammates to recover the ball when they struggled.

Alebiosu (9) - man of the match for me. Signing of the season so far and an absolute steal for £500K. Not only does he have pace but his ability to read defensive situations and block/screen opposing players from getting to the ball inside the box is impressive to see. The run he made to skip past two Leicester players, bombing down to the byline inside the box and finally square it to Gudjohnsen for 2-0 was the icing on the cake. Will be a Premier League player by next season or so if he keeps this up.

Tronstad (5) - have no idea what has happened to him other than the contract situation. So wasteful in possession.

TGH (4) - really poor performance from a technical standpoint. Provides a bit of athleticism in the middle of the park but is causing problems for his teammates with his poor passing decisions. Squandered a great chance early in the second by skying it with his weaker left foot. Also has problems in the defensive department as he fails to track his runner at times.

Henriksson (5) - likes to press but is overly aggressive trying to win the ball with sliding tackles. Right decision to pull him off at half-time as he was already booked.

Ohashi (7) - really good at pressing and forcing the opponent to make mistakes and win the ball high up the pitch, especially in the first half.

Gudjohnsen (8) - the goal against Southampton last week gave a real confidence boost. Poacher's instinct to be on the end of the first one and resolutely fired home the second from close range. Has also improved somewhat in keeping hold of the ball and link play, albeit looking a bit weak in the challenges at times.

Subs: Montgomery (6), Morishita (5 - wasteful in front of goal/ final third, needs to improve his decision-making), Hedges (6), Forshaw (N/A), Gueye (N/A)

Coach: Ismael (7) - got it right with pressing high up the pitch and making it difficult for Leicester to play out from the back. Correct substitutions at half time as well.

Match summary: thought we did really well at times by creating some momentum whenever we won back the ball high up on the pitch. Our right hand side in defence looks really strong at the moment with Miller and Alebiosu. The problems we faced came mainly from the left side and Fatawu in particular.

Have to say that our central midfield is shockingly bad when in possession and is often the main cause to attacks/transitions breaking down early. Hopefully Baradji can make a real difference here when he gets fit because the current level of our midfield is sub-standard for Championship.

Thought otherwise that our running capacity and willingness to press was impressive to see. Leicester didn't really manage put any substantial pressure on our goal after our second.

Watched Gudjohnsen's first goal a few more times and what impresses me is just how quick he sorted his feet out in order to hit that first time.  He totally had his feet messed up but he sorted them in a flash and finished well.  Passing and close control leaves a bit to be desired but he did provide the pass that ended up going to De Neve and then got in the box for the finish so all good work there

As he did at Hull in that invaluable win.

The difference between a good keeper and an average one is massive to us.

If only Pears had been as good as average, he's just a poor keeper all round.  Not saying Toth is a Big Brad or A Sir Roger but he seems a clear upgrade on Ainsley.

This Montgomery kid I know nothing about him, what is his preferred position.  He looked good when he came on last week and we seemed to start playing better after he came on this week. Surely in line for a start soon.  Can we accommodate Todd Cantwell now? or will he have to wait his turn, he should have to win back the shirt, not be an automatic choice right away.

Whilst I think your mark is slightly harsh, certainly agree with your comments on Wharton and need to sign a defender.

TGH loved just booting the ball anywhere and was really lax on the ball, and once in particular just switched off.

Cantwell comes back in surely. Neither Henriksson nor Miroshita have nailed down a spot or convinced.

But changing a winning side and all that?

What are we singing here?

They are singing 'Montgomery, I like it' to the tune of That's the Way I Like It by KC and The Sunshine Band.

It really caught on at Leicester and improved the atmosphere.

I agree with most of what you’ve posted but 4 for Wharton ? I’d reserve that for a really disastrous performance in a hammering. Hyam at Bristol City springs to mind. We won 2-0 on Saturday with a decent performance from the team.

4 maybe is bit harsh but he definitely underperformed together with McLoughlin. Had they equalised from that big chance in second half it would've brought momentum to their side and a completely different game all of a sudden. Main problem is that he's slow to react in many situations. Need to raise his standard, simple as that.

He was fast asleep there but he wasn’t on his own at that moment.  Luckily we have a good goalkeeper who came to the rescue.

Thought Wharton was quite decent myself, tends to get unfairly slaughtered because he's come through the ranks imo. If we'd paid say £2.5m like we did for Hyam people would be a lot more complimentary about him.

Thought it was a very good team performance on Saturday with no really poor performances. I was surprised to see VI being critical of De Neve as whilst  I dont particularly rate him I thought he had a fairly good first half and I thought we were poorer for the two first half subs albeit you could see why he took Henriksson off being on a yellow.

Overall I felt during the first half that for the very first time under VI you could make out a discernible style of play and tell what they were trying to do.

Very early days and we're still hovering just above the relegation zone in 19th so far too early to say that lashings of humble pie are needed where Val is concerned but I hope we can continue in the same vein and he can prove me completely wrong.

In this Leicester fan video you can clearly see the full run to the near post from Gudjohnsen, anticipating the cut back for our second goal, he's at least 5 yards faster than anyone else. From 11:25 onward:
