Apparently the players are 'All fired up and ready' Except, of course, for those in key positions that have been instrumental in delivering unexpected results at Bristol, Leicester and against Southampton, specifically in goal and our back line.

Old git feel about this is that we will leak goals like a teabag in boiling water, as the Preston cockwombles turn up the heat in that in yer face style beloved of Mr Scowlwhilstyouwank himself, Heckingbottom.

Strange things happen in football, so I'm not going to complain if somehow Rovers conjour a positive result (draw or even nicking a win) but neither am I going to hold my breath whilst the tactical genius of our coaching team floats like magical cream over the scum of the North End Bovril. Unless there is something psychotropic in the pre-match orange squash in the home dressing room, I'm inclined to be expecting a sobering reverse this evening.

Lillywhites loving life 3 Rovers rue-ing recent recurring regression 0

Knob End knocking one out 2 Rovers reacting remarkably robustly 2

Deepdale despair 1 Rovers Rocking Right Round Roman Road 3

Just as long as VI understands the importance of 'bragging rights' for those who live (or were born) in Bamber Bridge....*

Massive for them because they still have something to play for this season besides trying to finish 21st like us

You predict we will win 90% of games though so at least you are learning about your over confidence

They're all the same at work all grilling me on it all. I just said look lads, if your entire month has been about waiting for tonight then hats off to you but you've no idea what a pure rivalry looks and feels like. We do and it ain't you lot, you're just another team I'm afraid. Enjoy your cup final 🤣

I worked in Preston for over a decade from 2001; never felt any rivalry at all, even when Jansen sealed promotion there it didn’t feel like getting one over on a rival. They were just another team.

This manufactured rivalry is just bizarre to me.

Anyway Friday night with a few beers watching the football, yet I’m not looking forward to it at all, the squad is looking seriously grim and feels like we are due for a bad Christmas period as always!

Same as the Bolton rivalry SKY were desperate to manufacture.

To enter tonight's game, do we have to print the tickets off at home? .. Or just put the phone on the scanner at the ground??

I have a few tickets on phone..

It's madness!

Plastic squeaky chickens, clappers and flags placed on seats, first home sell out the league probably since Tom Finney was playing, fans flying in from all over, people saying they can't sleep.

Tell us again it's not their cup final.

Now if this was Rovers we know how the script would go and no doubt they'll celebrate like they've been promoted in November when they win but i'm quite sure this will be the one highlight of their season.

If ever a set of fans was going over the top and deserved a massive pin in their balloon it's this lot.

All sounds a bit plastic.

having been bouncing around the middle divisions since tom finney went back to plumbing, every time pne start the season well their fans starts chirping about them being a "sleeping giant!!!!" and as everyone one of their lancashire rivals have been moderately succesful  (even blackpool made it into the premier league) they are also extremely bitter🙂

They've said that in the LT, every game, 1 win in 6 at home, speaks for itself.

It's not looking good for Rovers, Carter back out injured, and Miller with jet lag, returning yesterday after playing for Australia. We desperately need recruitment at the back, in the Januarary transfer window,if we've to have a chance of staying in the Championship.

it might have helped slighty by not selling hyam at the last minute and actually paying danny batth a few more quid a week,a couple more injuries at the back and we`ll be sending scouts to blackburn combination games because we ar`nt going to be spending any money in january

'January ain't easy ya know' will be getting an airing soon, then it will be 'window doesn't close until the start of February so as long as we've got a few bodies in by then it's fine'.

We needed defensive reinforcements yesterday, suicidal decision to sell Hyam on deadline day to the mighty Wrexham, potentially cost us Championship status there and then but hey, at least that money will help them meet their targets from the accountants back at HQ.

Wonder if the international man of mystery himself will make an appearance on the bench tonight?

More likely to see Lord Lucan or Shergar...
