The Blunderer Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 No smirking please, there's nothing wrong with someone showing consideration for others. Debs knew some of us wouldn't be too steady on our pins leaving the Blues Bar, and quickly set about a health and safety risk assessment of the Ewood paving, as on the main route of our exit, and means of escape. Her speech bubble would of course have read "thought so, this rogue block stands over 20 mil. proud of the level surface, and consitutes a trip hazard. Cone off the area at once, and let the good people of the Blues Bar leave in safety as they go". Or am I missing something? Quote
Billy Castell Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 It's quite interesting putting (real) faces to usernames. This picture caught my eye. What the hell is going on here ?. Is he a real Bishop ?. Quote

If I'm right about this, when ever Rovers/Burnley or Preston Go up or down a coffin goes in or out of the ground and gets blessed - just an excuse to have a few beers I think. Quote

Its nowt to do with Burnley. For every Rovers or Preston relegation the 'dead' club is laid to rest in a pub cellar in Bamber Bridge and 'raised' when promoted. Very old tradition with procession and service! Quote

Please correct me if I'm wrong people but the details are something like... This is done in Bamber Bridge - inbetween Blackburn and Preston - where the inhabitants are a mixture of BRFC and PNE. As Lord Cocker has said whenever either team is relegated or promoted a coffin with the name BRFC or PNE on is taken from one pub in Brig and taken to another. So a burial or a resurrection (although the resurrection still means walking a coffin around the streets!?). I went to the last one - funnily enough it's an excuse to get hammered. It also took place at the same time as some sort of carnival thing with floats and that. Don't ask me what the hell was going on - I was drinking. Edited May 21, 2004 by bob fleming Quote

Then TWS would show some 12 year old who's better than Boris Becker at Tennis but only has one eye... Quote
