Some unfair comments on Eustace, he's working with some very limited players and with a couple of better forwards and a decent midfielder we'd have won today.

We need to beat Swansea, Millwall and Plymouth to give ourselves a buffer. Beyond that I think we've only got Sheffield Wednesday from the bunch at the bottom.

QPR and Hudds at least brought a fight. Cardiff were shocking. We need an improvement if we're to gain points against better teams, that's the reality. We need our better players like Szmodics doing a job for us, he was very poor last night and a big reason we couldn't string an offensive move together. Swansea, Millwall and Rotherham upcoming. We need to be picking up 3 points from teams around us because we aren't going to draw many games playing like that against the teams above us. Last nights performance was a massive downgrade on the Preston game. There was never going to be a miraculous change around in results either way.

Not sure about a PL team, just a competitive team in this league with a smidge of ambition I'd be happy with right now.

I'd have taken the point beforehand and thank goodness is wasn't another loss, but a "tricky game"? Cardiff were possibly the worst opposition team I've seen this season and if expectations weren't so low we'd be unanimous lamenting a good opportunity to take all three points. Also I'm not sure how you can say we're going the right way. A better team would have punished us which is quite worrying going forward. There was dicking about at the back, silly cross field passes and poor defending so I can only imagine those saying we're more pragmatic weren't watching. Edit: just pointing out, I'm not blaming Eustace here (as someone suggested last night) just as I wasn't blaming JDT. He's not got much to work with and some of these players have underperformed for 2 managers now, in some cases 3. With even a slight upgrade (a decent fucking midfielder to replace Wharton would be nice) we could have taken 3 points last night.

It's the semblance of a gameplan that's lacking. I don't know what this is. This isn't scrippy scrappy, it's just shit. The lack of discipline with basic passing and movement is shocking, and that goes for players like SS too. It's that that's gone over a cliff.

Yet we still weren't playing as badly as that half of football. Let's hope Eustace has a plan B (spoilers, Brum fans say he doesn't).

I've never seen JDT's team play as badly as this. I could frame it that anything good that JDT instilled into the team, went with him. And all of the failings while he was here can be put down to some terrible footballers and the awful bunch that assembled them.

Is there any gameplan at all? I get that some thought that JDT was too attack minded, but this is just terrible. W e're still badly playing it out from the back on occasion. The passing is worse. The attacking, from players that we've seen attack well, is none existent. The defending is just as shambolic. We're still playing suicide balls across field for it to be intercepted, but we're playing an opponent who is really poor. What is this?

Cardiff commentators are completely in denial if they think they played well. Two awful awful teams constantly losing the ball and creating nothing for a very dull 45 minutes.
