  1. The thing that will hurt the most is if Waggot and co think they can go into another season coasting it. Much worse than Burnley easily going straight back up, being well beaten at home to Preston or Mowbray having success at Sunderland.
  2. Josh Maja looks like exactly the sort of player we don't want. That Nisbet looks like he'd be a good fit though.
  3. Not the point, we need to replace the goals he's scored as no one else in the squad is anywhere near prolific.
  4. Well if we don't we'll be at the other end of the table as without BBD that's 14 goals less than we had this season. To improve on this season we need to replace Brereton's goals and bring in a good striker. I don't know why anyone expects us to get promoted if we don't have the basics in place. It's what separated us from the top 6 teams.
  5. 16 extra goals would have made us play off contenders this season, even with all the other problems.
  6. Am I the only person who heard him and thought he just meant it was seen as a rebuilding job at the beginning of the season, with players outgoing and being unable to bring in the amount of players required, and that's why it's a great achievement.
  7. Ultimately, it'll always be a struggle if the club don't support the manager. Since we got relegated from the PL, every season we've been crippled by something. We were unlucky this season but not helped by the recruitment team crapping themselves when the spotlight was on them. We're our own worst enemy and I'd hope that the goal is automatic promotion, not the play off lottery.
  8. I never expect him to score any, but that's what he scored last season and this.
  9. Yes, and bizarrely an improvement on last season position wise, but with the same points tally. I'd say that's a lesson for the people running the club that if you stand still you don't improve. But it's clear the people running the club are interested in stretching themselves and are happy to cost the club £££s year after year.
  10. We keep saying it'll be a tougher division but it's pretty much the same old. You get two or three very good teams (for this league), a few decent teams, the bulk of them can give you a game, and then there's the ones right at the bottom trying to claw themselves away from League 1. If recruitment steps up we'll do alright, if they don't we'll really struggle without BBD's goals. We can't do an entire season with Sam Gallagher and his 8 or 9 goals.
  11. He looked positively youthful when he arrived, so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't walk away from football altogether. After a year with that grim bunch in the offices, it'd put anybody off!
  12. It's galling but the buck doesn't stop with the manager on this one. It does if you're willing to forget every other factor there is and blame him for decisions made way before he was here.
  13. He also said we should sign Ashley Barnes to solve our lack of goals. I suppose it's about opinions.
  14. Nah, he's poor for any team with any aspirations. A hard worker but it's all for naught and at his worst he puts the players around him on edge. I'm yet to see what he offers the team because he's not a passer, not a goalscorer, not a hard man. It's like he's trying to be Robbie Savage but he doesn't have the engine nor the bastardry to do it.
  15. One man? I won't stick the boot in as we're all suffering, but did the fact we don't have any centre halves and those players you mentioned that have no bottle not have something to do with it? I can only assume you're giving Waggott, Broughton and Venkys a free pass on this too.
  16. I said Waggott out, I wasn't implying anything. If it's still not clear, I was saying I'd like him to leave the club. It also isn't based on today. If we had a CEO worth a damn we'd be in the play offs ahead of Sunderland. We lost it in January but we've improved on last season. That will help him paper over the cracks as Venkys haven't a clue. He and everyone at the club, along with every fan will know that he and his underlings are to blame.
  17. I don't think a lot of fans realise what a poor player he is. Worlds apart when he made way for JRC.
  18. Boro knock them out in the final, Tony cry gurns and laugh gurns at the same time.
  19. Massively disappointed to not get in the play offs but happy that we've ended with a win, and also happy that it sticks the final nail in on who was the villain this season. Waggot out!
  20. I count two poor finishes from Dolan and Hedges so far. If Millwall score another and knock Sunderland out that's on Tony for signing 1000 wingers. Tell you what, I'd have JRC in the middle of the pitch every match from this showing.
