  1. To be fair he was a prick before he opened his mouth. Just as uniformed as he was a terrible footballer. Up there with Keith Andrews for crappy players who managed to steal a living. People talk like he was just awful for England, but he was just awful.
  2. Two excellent centre forwards have massively helped. Would love either of them here.
  3. Let's hope they go missing at the end of next season too 😉
  4. Says promotion is too early and that he’s had to tell the owners that. Wastes years of everyone’s time, as well as money, on a journey to nowhere. Leaves us without a decent centre forward. At his next club, lucks out (partly due to previous club not having decent centre forward) then says promotion can never be too early. Managerial spiel or not, the man’s an awful cunt.
  5. He was playing down expectations knowing we didn't have enough firepower (and was he wrong?), Mowbray was just dragging it out.
  6. Note to self, don't mess with AI image generators! 😉
  7. Digging a hole, or is it the five years of shite he spouted?
  8. I reckon Vale will be moved on asap. It'll be interesting to see if players like Gallagher and Travis are given the push. Just replacing Gallagher with a good striker this season and we'd be in the play offs.
  9. There are all those managers out there who have won proper trophies, City can appoint anyone they want, but to Burnley fans they'll want Kompany with his inflatable cup. I think you're safe lads. Be interesting to see how he fares in the big league.
  10. Lest we forget, to Burnley fans football only began about a decade ago. VK will go where the opportunities lie. You're kidding yourself if you think he'll save himself for City, a club doing exceptionally well without him and probably will for the foreseeable.
  11. What a total wanker. As I said at the time, he got cosy here with no interest of promotion. He was happy with mediocrity as long as Venkys were happy to pay him for it.
  12. Yes of course, we needed another. Someone who actually played as a striker, not out wide, you know to nod those crosses in that Gallagher didn't. It's not rocket science. 16 goals separated us from the play offs. Other contenders had two or three goalscorers they could rely on.
  13. His insistence on not bringing in a striker here is a big reason for Sunderland getting into the play offs. We were a 16 goal striker away from being above them.
  14. He opted not to sign a striker himself. If anyone shafted us last season, it was Mowbray.
  15. It depends on how proactive the club is in bringing in the right players and moving on those that aren't up to it. If they make up for their mistakes in January, then I'll be very positive about next season. Amazed that you can compare Carrick's squad to Tomassons. Their top 3 goalscorers had something like 50 goals this season (84 in total, the second highest amount of goals scored). Boro should have been in the automatics. If I was a Boro fan and we'd just made the play offs with that talent, I'd be unhappy with Carrick. And if they don't go up what a failure.
  16. Yep. And one had five years and a lot more money to do it.
  17. There was a great chance for a play off place last season that he fucked up.
  18. That's true, across the web I'm seeing the blame almost entirely aimed at Waggot and co. I've only seen people on here laying the blame at the managers door.
  19. Aye, if Chelsea or Spurs came along he'd never leave Burnley 🙄
  20. I hope Boro batter Coventry in both legs, then we sign Gyokeres. Their keeper ends up sent to a none league team for letting in 10 at home. Cheating goalkeeping tw*t.
  21. It's when he builds his own team you should worry. He left us with no decent centre forwards. In January 2022 he stated that a big centre forward wouldn't run the channels. That's the kind of manager you have to look forward to. "If we had a striker for 15 games." 1 game would have done us, take your pick from any of the Preston, Burnley or Coventry games (Burnley would have been good). We'd be in the play offs now.
  22. Left us with no strikers which is a key reason why his juggernaut overtook us. If only he had a braincell to rub together it'd be a masterstroke.
  23. 7th placed finish which is the highest we've been since all those years ago when Venkys took over, but disappointing when with a couple of players we would likely have got an extra few points and into the play offs. Positively speaking, for the first time in a long time we are faced with the prospect of an interesting season if the manager is backed and stays. Will they? Their past record tells me all I need to know but I would hope with us losing out on the play offs due to goal difference that it makes them realise we have a good chance to go for it next season. We need to bring in some quality and move on some of the players that have massively let us down. At the beginning of the season I predicted a 12th place finish due to lack of goals, questions over the fullback positions, over reliance on the academy and a lightweight midfield. So it exceeded my expectations. One massive worry is that near the start of the season Broughton said we wouldn't be doing a lot of business in January, and he stuck to that! Considering our lofty position you would have thought there would be some course correction, but it seems at Rovers if they make a decision, they don't just stick to it, they also sabotage what little business they've decided to do.
