Without giving Nixon much credit, Batth is without a club and doesn't seem in demand. It's an easy guess to connect the dots. I wouldn't be surprised if Rovers are interested. Free, decent player, injury prone, old. A perfect signing for skint, left to rot Rovers. -

It was a bit more positive this time last year. -

Not really, we were almost relegated last season. So it's reasonable to expect the same next season without rebuilding. It's more likely we'll be fighting a relegation battle than not and anything more will exceed expectations. And so it's a bit obvious that if you remove the bloke who scored all the goals last season and don't replace him, we'll finish lower down the league. It doesn't matter how much fight Eustace has if he loses his best goalscorer. -

They wanted to sell Carter along with Phillips and Adam Wharton, but he got injured. So I wouldn't put it past them if they can get a half decent fee - or maybe even an indecent fee. Anyone worth anything is up for grabs. Seemingly apart from Gallagher 🤦♂️ -
Tbf, it's the biggest thing they or he will win in management probably. They partied like us winning the PL.

Even if Gallagher was a great partner for these goalscorers, his injury record is cause for concern. Relying on Gallagher and Leonard's goals to keep us up is a terrifying prospect. The sadder thing is I fully expect it or similar to happen. -

Whether that's true or not, and I lean towards not, it wasn't the point. We lose Szmodics, we go down. We were very very lucky that he stepped up. If Rovers were a club with a good history of selling and reinvesting I'd be more positive. -

Considering the current alternative is Sam Gallagher, yes. -

Hirst, 25 years old, 29 appearances, 7 goals 7 assists. Gallagher, 28 years old, 27 appearances, 5 goals 6 assists. Siggy scored as many as Hirst this season but in 34 appearances. 4 assists. I'm not sure if Hirst would be much better but my view is soured by seeing him in a blue and white shirt. -
Well said.

Waggott hangs in there like a cockroach after the nuclear fire. That said, Broughton deserved the sack for Wahlstedt. The only real money we had to spend and his choice of keeper almost relegated us.

Tyrese Campbell has a worse record than Gallagher. It's unsuprising that Stoke fans want rid. -
Without SS it’s a bottom 3 team.

If only we could keep Szmodics and sign Chrisene, another fullback, a good winger, and a decent striker to replace Gallagher.
