Of course you'll have to get a bus into Preston first.

So that explains why " 45572 Eire" was a "Jubilee" Class railway engine among all the engines named after countries or states of the British Empire. The Class was introduced in 1934.

It certainly is a golden oldie, Mike. I have the record (vinyl) of Gerard Hoffnung addressing the Oxford Union sometime in the 1950s where his version of "The Bricklayer" was hilarious. He also tells an equally hilarious story about written replies to queries about holiday accommodation from Tyrolean landlords. e.g. "There is a French widow in every bedroom affording delightful prospects".

James Webb Space Telescope - stunning stellar images

I once saw an alien from Neptune something on You Tube (I think) where the image was a leaf on a plant in a garden. Successive images withdrew x10 each time. You could see the gradual withdrawal from the garden, town, county, country, continent, planet etc. Planet Earth disappeared and so did the sun as I marvelled at the extent of the universe. The second half, however, was more intriguing as the images returned to the leaf and continued into the matter of the leaf and so on to the atoms which make up the leaf which looked like a whole new universe. My point is it's not just the extent (going outwards) of the universe that we marvel at but also the inner make up of matter itself. We are somewhere between the smallest and the biggest of existing matter. Perhaps that awe is why I bow down to someone/something greater. -
Bit of both really. As I was typing I realised DF was Finance Director but, another sip of wine and.......

They're just sussing us out, seeing what we have. And then they'll turn it on and blast us out of sight.

What the hell is an FD? Gregg Broughton is a DoF. It must stand for fooking dickhead.

I don't expect us to win tonight but it will be a good run-out for the lads. -
Who is Harry Leonard?

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Surely 6 Danish players will be coming this window. -
I have looked up "fungible" thinking it is a modern made-up word. How wrong I was. Adjective meaning "(of goods contracted for without an individual specimen being specified) replaceable by another identical item; mutually interchangeable" Origin.......late 17th century from medieval Latin fungibilis from fungi: 'perform, enjoy', with the same sense as fungi vice 'serve in place of'. So there you are. I always thought fungi were mushrooms. Ah well!

We have always worn blue and white quartered shirts. If you could see the back of each of those shirts you would see that the "halves" are reversed. That is until a few seasons ago (I forget which season). -
Did anyone watch Freddie Flintoff trying to get Preston youths interested in cricket? BBC 1 last Tuesday night. First of 3 episodes. I thought it was very well done and an insight into the youth of today. How I felt so sorry for them having been let down by society as a whole; parents, schools, government, everyone.

For the second consecutive season we will not be wearing our traditional colours. Next season may as well have blue and white stripes. -
Really? I thought it should be grass.

Is there a different starting 11 for the second game?

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Totally disagree. IMO, JRC is a good player. Since his bad injury he has struggled to find his previous form but still a good player. And, No!, I'm not a relative of his. Never met the guy. -

Tomorrows games are not "must win" games as some are suggesting. It's a first run out. For those going to watch I will be more interested in players' performances than game results. -
Yeah. I bet they were livid. Good!

No. JDT and GB are desperately trying to ring India but the Vs are sleeping and not to be disturbed.

Can GB complain to the owners and obtain a change in the way things are done? Or will he be slapped down for his cheek? -
Our shirts were lovely!

Our goal was scored by Kevin Gallacher. He beat their centre back for speed and, as Schmeical(spelling?) came out, instead of smashing it he rolled it into the corner where it nestled in the net. One of my favourite Rovers goals. When they equalised they went ballistic as if they had won. Urine Detachments! (anagram)

Check the links to Stockport County and Rovers.

I would just like to say a big thank you to Chaddy for posting that training session in Portugal. I know it was Rovers TV but I don't go to the official site much. I was impressed with what the players were doing. It has boosted my optimism for this coming season. Keep 'em coming, Chaddy.
