  1. I still cannot watch the full game v PNE. We need competence at Ewood. Jack would have sacked the lot.
  2. Why don't you email Swag. After all the buck stops with him. And me? I can't be arsed.
  3. When people think of competent managers they think of Warnock, Hodgson, Steve Cooper, etc. But I reckon Lee Johnson is another one. When he was at Bristol City I always fancied him coming to the Rovers. He seemed to do a good job there. Now watch Fleetwood Town climb up the league. He seems to be a chap with no airs and graces. He isn't a bighead like Mourinho. I think he's just a good manager who enjoys a challenge. If and when JDT leaves us we could do worse than appoint him.
  4. Whoever "organises" Rovers TV needs sacking and replacing with a competent human or efficient AI. I want to watch the full match v PNE. I find the video, it tells me to log in, I log in, screen says "You are logged in", I select match replay, it says I must log in, I log in, screen says "You are logged in, I select match replay, it says I must log in.........................................ad infinitum.🤬 I'm beginning to get really, really pissed off with all that is Rovers.
  5. I see Craig Short is caretaker manager of Oxford Utd since Liam Manning left them to join Bristol City. Doubt if he'll get the permanent job.
  6. I don't know, Dave. I'm missing you blokes too. It won't be versus PNE unfortunately. Circumstances beyond my control.
  7. Yes. I've just found out the sad news. Alan (Birdy) Birkbeck has died aged 74. When we were in the Prem we used to go to the Aqueduct pub after games into the tap room and that's how we got to know Birdy and his wife. R.I.P. Birdy; Rovers' famous supporter.
  8. In that clip we were in red. Ignore that Tyrone. I understand what you mean now. I must be getting old.
  9. Blue shirts with white sleeves was Cardiff City in those days. May also have been Ipswich Town. I wish I could show this clip to Eamonn's son. He'd love it. How can I save it for posterity?
  10. I used to be able to do that. Can't anymore. Lip muscles have gone.
  11. I thought tackles from behind weren't allowed any more.
  12. Tronstad gets his work done quietly but efficiently and without fuss. Good player.
  13. I watched it on TV in local pub. The first replay of Wharton's tackle from the side camera we all said he didn't touch the ball. The second replay from the camera behind showed he DID touch the ball. Cannot blame the referee in this instance. Duffy's card was harsh. All he did was clear the ball. JRC needs bollocking for his stupid card. We all know that after the ref has blown you must not continue with a shot. It's like taking your shirt off after scoring or playfully bouncing the ball off an opponent's head. Hill was my MOM. Superb! But better than POTS Van Hecke? No. Keep it up JDT. You're doing better than expected given the circumstances.
  14. First game I remember (my dad had taken me on before then) was 1st game of the season Rovers 1 Sheff Utd 5. 1951? First team I remember was:- Patterson; Suart, Eckersley; Campbell. Holt, Bell; Graham, Crossan, Harris, Todd, Wharton.
  15. No. My dad and I watched it on TV. We couldn't eat our tea afterwards much to my mum's annoyance. (She was a North Ender) It was a horrible final. I remember the commentator saying,"The Blackburn supporters are booing the Wolves. The Wolves supporters are booing the referee. And the rest are just booing".
  16. Not me, Den. Wish I had been. Story goes that Dougan said to the Wednesday centre half, Peter Swan, " Want to buy a ticket for the final?" Swan punched him in the privates.
  17. He scored two very important goals in the cup-ties of 1960. Firstly the equaliser at home to Blackpool when we were going out in the 4th round. Secondly the equaliser at Burnley in the 6th round after we had been 3-0 down. Still alive I believe along with Duggie, of course.
  18. Leo JRC. Hill S Wharton Pickering Tronstad Travis Brittain A Wharton Dolan Leonard I'm presuming Siggy, Gally, Hayden, Sammy, Hyam, Pears, are all not fit.
  19. 1998 was an awful year for Roy. It was as if the gods had decided they would be all against him for those twelve months. Very strange.
  20. If Brittain plays RB and JRC plays in front of him on Sunday they can swap positions throughout the game thereby confusing the Norwich defence.
