If the problem happened in late afternoon before the match, all the checking in the world wouldn't have done much good. Anyone know Bolton's 'excuse'? -
It's nothing to do with Souness! I blame Dean Saunders........... We had some great times with Souness that I for one won't forget, and I thank him for that. However, there were as many dodgy times - plenty of lurking in the relegation zone, lack of fitness of players - and indeed if he hadn't departed at that time questions were on the verge of being prepared to be asked by the Board. I was disappointed by the way in which he left - he couldn't wait to get out of the door and didn't bother to say 'thank you' to Rovers for the good times and to the fans whose support in the main he still had. Then appeared at the Newcastle/Rovers match with his son in a Newcastle shirt, before his new appointment had actually started. That was hard to swallow for me.

Got our tickets for QPR and first leg semi last night after the match. Very helpful young lady who sorted our seats out in no time. Drawback was as we left some of the players were leaving and had to drag Miss Roversmum away as she wanted to lurk and accost MGP!

Think the lads got a bit fed up in the second half knowing Portsmouth weren't up to their standard and let things slip a bit. Another win tho', and up to 8th, great stuff! Bring on the Bolton................... Miss Roversmum has found a new pic for her collection -

I'm being taunted by a Leeds fan who says it took Leeds to make something of Jon Douglas Reply - "Well I always said he was a Championship level player................. and no, no way do I want him back at Rovers, you can keep him, ta very much" -

Brilliant Christmas present, tickets for the game! Great afternoon, great win! Just reading through press comments etc (but who cares)* whilst listening to the marvellous New Year Concert from Vienna. *On reflection, it's rather funny. Can the media keep coming up with excuses for us winning? Might be fun to start collecting the headlines! edit: the reports weren't all like that though Good to see Jason 'Aren't I wonderful - oops sorry, didn't mean my elbow to touch you ha-ha' kept quiet.l Good refereeing by Clattenburg made such a difference too. Great time to be a Rover -

So sad, but perhaps the best thing for Matty. Good luck for the future, Matty, you deserve it and you will always be loved by Rovers fans. -

Consdering the tickets are £20 for juniors and senior citizens, I'd rather have had a couple of quid off the ticket.... -

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. So they're going to shift 5,000 pies to us lot at half time, are they? Not a devious plot to shut us up and/or make sure a fair few of us are out of the stands come the start of the second half, plus the disruption of those returning late plus pies? -

and didn't he provide an assist for one of the goals at Man U? Wrong player to be targetted in my opinion. Still, each to his own............ -
I have to say, though, that at the start of last season I was extremely disappointed to see how unfit the players were and it was no surprise that it was picked up by Mark Hughes as soon as he came.

According to the Radio Lancs commentator, a Boro defender came from nowhere and stopped Shefki's shot. Shefki just needed time to aclimatise and get used to the Premiership. He is a valuable member of our squad. It will be interesting to see who will be chosen between Shefki, Paul Dickov and Bellers as the preferred front two. What a great result, though. I don't care for Steve McL at all so am very pleased the lads sorted his team out. -

Sorry, but why so you need to quote a whole large post which was made only two posts before yours? -
Mr Roversmum and I got a ticket for Wigan as a Christmas present (thank you JJ)! Dearly want to go th QPR, and LC semis but probably will only manage one if lucky. From the Roversworld interviews of the last few days, it looks as if at least Sparky and the lads are appreciating the fans' efforts.
-
It was a similar situation with Souey. You could almost always be sure that a goal would be scored just before half time or full time. In those days, though, the squad were not fit. There's absolutely no excuse now . Come on, lads, this is Fulham, for goodness sake!

I think the questions in your latter paragraph will be tempered at the meeting on 12th January EIT. Many suggestions have been made and we will be wanting answers, particularly in the event of suggestions having been tried and not successful. -

Regarding Repka's 'handball, looking at the replay from behind him he was clearly pushing one of our players in the back (believe it was Bert) and then raised both his arms when the ball hit his left arm. Very clever and leading to people's doubts imo. As for Carroll's attack on Morten, I said last week that I had noticed opposition players seem to have a bit of a vendetta on him, a kick here, a punch there, an elbow, even a head and they've mostly been getting away with it. Poor lad must be black and blue after a match! Pardew is beginning to irritate me profusely and hopefully we won't see any more of the blighter this season
