  1. Virtually every recent match can be put forwards as evidence that something ain't right. We don't need any more evidence, we all KNOW the club is a shambles top to bottom. The only good thing about the club at the moment is the fans. Venky's out
  2. Disagree on both counts. Mowbray's lack of passion and his 'it's not 1995' attitude are major contributing factors to our lack of success on the pitch. Being manager of Blackburn Rovers is just a job to him. He would rather be elsewhere. I think Ainsworth is worth a punt based on his results at Wycombe on a very small budget and his approach to the management in general - he appears to be a good man manager as well as a good football manager. He has served his apprentiship and deserves a shot. The fact that he loves the club and may well be more proactive in dealing with the owners is an added bonus. As for potting Mowbray now - why not, get Warnock in and see if he can get 3 or 4 wins from the kast few games to give us a chance of the playoffs. New manager bounce does seem to exist. If it doesn't work then we've lost nothing. Mowbray won't get the requried results.
  3. So, without the financial chicanery regarding the training ground we would have posted a loss of £23.9 million. While the debts mount and assets change hands and the revenue burden increases, the playing squad is being allowed to fall apart and the ground is becoming dilapidated. We are truly kicking the can down a dead end road. The fans care, the owners obviously don't. It may be their money that is being wasted but it's our club that will pay the price. Venky's out
  4. And yet Mowbray admits they can earn double elsewhere - that's not tittle tattle. So other Championship clubs are offering double what we are (none of the three will be be going to Premiership clubs). There is something wrong if we can't pay home grown players the going rate.
  5. I would go with 5/10 so far. Average in almost every aspect. He's signed some good players, he's signed some bad players. Despite the fabled 'journey', planning for the future has not worked out. I am worried that it's too early for this discussion. A trip to India followed by a new contract could lead to a struggle next season and we could all be voting 2/10 this time next year.
  6. Mowbray's brother Darren - works at Aberdeen and formerly with Boro and the Dingles.
  7. Surely there must be some outward signs of this wave of positivity flowing through the club ? Research ? Appointments ? It all seems very secret. Do we need to get Louis Theroux on the case ?
  8. We will probbaly be united in our disappointment. We are due a good manager but that would require the owners to spend a little time and effort considering what would be in the best interests of the club. I hold out no hope at all. Venky's out
  9. I was interested to hear Mowbray's terminology in his interview before the Millwall game. He was talking about Brereton possibly going to Chile while not being fit to play for Rovers. Mowbray said ( from memory) "I can't influence the situation sat in my office with the owner's conduit". I presume he is referring to Suhail Pasha but I find it interesting that he did not call him the owner's representative or advisor/spokesman/official. There are so many factors that make it impossible to run the club effectively under Venky's. I can imagine the same situation on transfer deadline day when all other clubs would have all hands to the pump. Mowbray is sat in his office with a 'conduit' to people who are fast asleep in India and probably wouldn't respond if they were awake. I'd be ecstatic with a return to the Don MacKay / Bill Fox / no money period instead of multi billionaire owners with no interest who only communicate through a conduit.
  10. Use of unnecessary apostrophes indicates carelessness and lack of knowledge - never trust anyone that uses them.
  11. The likes of Hughes, Todd, Savage etc were tough guys but they also had nous and leadership qualities that other players responded to. Their attitude spread throughout the team. We have not had anyone with those characteristics for a long time. When we go behind in a game there is nobody galvanising and encouraging his team mates. We need a leader as much as we need a hard man.
  12. Pathetic performance. Don't think any of them fancied it today. Only Johnson played with the right attitude and looked as if he believed he should be on the same pitch as the the opposisition. The rest of our team were like frightened rabbits. Second half, Fulham were in cruise control and 3rd gear and we still didn't make much impression. Don't think we will finish in top 6.
  13. I am a big fan of Nyambe but it's not as if Premiership teams are lining up to sign him and I doubt his demands are unrealistic so why can't we afford to keep him. I wouldn't think Nyambe is demanding higher wages than Gallagher or Kaminski who just got new deals. If we can't afford to pay the going rate for our own academy graduates then we are in trouble.
  14. Thesaurus Rotten - Meaning1 - putrid,decomposed etc.. Rotten - meaning 2 bad/poor/dreadful/awful/terrible/frightful/atrocious/hopeless/inadequate/inferior/unsatisfactory/Venky's ( OK, I added the last one myself )
  15. Also Clock DVA and Comsat Angels. My favourite ever band from Sheffield were The Mau Maus. I notice nobody has mentioned Def Leppard! Back to the footy - Hopeful but not really optimistic. I know this phrase has been described as slightly defeatist on recent threads, but in the is case it is true - 'I'll be happy with a point'
  16. I feel a bit miffed as I would normally save £40 by boycotting both games. Now I'm only saving £25
  17. Looked like he was rubbing and bending his knee when he came off on monday. Didn't look like a twisted ankle type of hobble
  18. Despite having a fairly healthy average home attendance of nearly 17,000 in a 24,500 capacity stadium - therefore only 7,500 empty seats - Huddersfield are offering all tickets anywhere in the stadium for £5 against Cardiff https://www.htafc.com/news/2022/february/half-term-football-for-just-5-against-cardiff-city/
  19. Two teams lacking confidence on show last night. Momentum from earlier in the season has deserted us. Promotion is often won behind the scenes and off the pitch in January and Bournemouth blew us out of the water in that respect. Lack of ambition, interest and action from Venky's. We need to hang on to a playoff place and hope we get our mojo back at the right time ( see 1992 )
  20. The trouble is the 'corridors' are almost empty - inhabited by Cheston and Waggott. Not exactly a dynamic duo. Venky's have continually failed the club in many ways and not putting a decent boardroom infrastructure in place has been a major hinderance.
  21. So he will probably be snatched away in May before Venky's have even read their emails.
  22. Terrible performance. It was obvious in January we needed a striker - even more obvious tonight. I thought Giels and Lenihan ( despite the missed chances ) were the standout performers but neither will be here next season. The rest were generally poor. Playoffs at best I'm afraid.
  23. It is if they have they insist on having the final say on how it is spent.
