  1. Who actually makes the decision ? is it the match referee or can the clubs just agree between themselves ?
  2. They will be - Where's Blackburn? What's it got to do with us ? Why would we care ? Do we still own this team ?
  3. There's 'thinking long term', there's treading water while provifding excuses and there's procrastinating. Progress has been glacial over the last 3 seasons and has possibly slipped into reverse. Mowbray is in self preservation mode. I respect your opinion and would love to share it but i don't think the palyers you mentioned will ever be premiership players and there is no way Mowbray's coaching will make them such. If you think about it, most journeys start and end in the same place. I think Mowbray's journey is on the return leg back to the bottom half of the championship.
  4. What about Doncaster's budget ?
  5. Do it please. Or ask for your cutout to be turned to face away from the pitch.
  6. I had just convinced myself that this match would never be worth a tenner and decided not to bother. But on the other hand there is always the nagging doubt that I might miss out if something unusually exciting happens. It's the hope that kills you. I'll probably watch after all. I'm with you, 5 -4 Rovers win.
  7. Fans Forum meeting minutes March 2019: Museum / Heritage Project Still in the early stages the Club have met with John Murray of the Supporters Trust discussing suitable areas within the stadium: funding opportunities: memorabilia and former player / fan involvement. The Club are looking at perhaps a smaller exhibition to begin with to generate fan interest and kick start future funding. One challenge will be the naming of the project to make it current and exciting. Given the rich and successful history of Rovers cataloguing the memorabilia that is held by Rovers alone will take some time and will be completed before inviting donations from fans themselves. The club is looking at setting up a fans consultation group when time is appropriate.
  8. Lynsey Talbot is general manager. She is currently involved in a Rovers museum project. I'm sure the season ticket from 1891 would have been exactly the sort of thing the project would have been interested in.
  9. He reminds me more of Paul Shepstone for some reaon. And while we are on the subject, I think Trybull has very similar mannerisms and running style to Tim Sherwood although no comparison as a player of course.
  10. I keep thinking of the Commentator's remark at the end of the match yesterday- he called it a mini-scalp for Doncaster Rovers. He wasn't trying to be insulting but it was probably his honest assessment of our club's standing in 2021. The problem is that he's right. Venky's out
  11. Maybe we should try a pointy one - we may get a reaction.
  12. I thought Mowbray's body language was awful again today. During the closing stages of the game, anyone with a passion for the club would have been on the touchline shouting and giving the team directions and generally acting like the Tasmanian devil rather than doing a good impression of Rip Van bloody Winkle. A very weakened Donny team won without really being troubled. Mowbray just doesn't seem to be able to affect a match by what he says or his subs or his tactics. The team just run around like a bunch of school kids without any common purpose or plan. I think we are all agreed, the evidence is now irrefutable. Mowbray's race is run. He should not be allowed to waste any more time or money. I see Hayden Carter scored the winner for Burton and they kept a clean sheet away from home. Another Mowbray master stroke.
  13. Let's hope we hear the word Sack again quite soon in a different context
  14. Obviously not bothered about the league either going on that observation
  15. And the winner at Welling Utd in the FA Cup - that was a great day out.
  16. Generally I would agree but Rovers are a special (basket!) case at this moment in time. For me, sorting out the issues at the club is as important as sorting out the performances on the pitch. I think Ainsworth would understand this more than most.
  17. I thought Mowbray's body language at Huddersfield was that of an unhappy man. Not determined or disappointed or frustrated just unhappy. Anyone who is unhappy in their job won't be performing well. I really hope he does the decent thing and doesn't hang around when he knows it's time to give someone else a go. Mowbray seems a decent guy and this may well be his main asset as a manager - he creates harmony within the squad becasue the players all like the boss. We all know he's not a tactical genius. It may well be his biggest fault too because he doesn't like upsetting anyone so tries to keep all the squad happy. One reason he may not resign is that it could well signal the end for Waggott and Venus and Mowbray may not want to jeopardise his friends' positions. I am sure these things will be on his mind. I have been lucky enough (!!) to speak to Steve Waggott on a number of occassions and he does not seem to have any real affection for the club - it's just a job to him. He never refers to the club as 'us' or even Rovers. He is a business man and not a football man, he cares about reporting financial improvements to Venky's - the fortunes of Rovers in a football sense are secondary. There is no way he will be considering any change of manager. But, you never know what is around the corner. For me Ainsworth would be the ideal option because he understands what we, as fans, have been through. He may be able to make Venky's realise the club needs to be run properly and that providing money is not the only thing required of good owners. We need local people with local understanding in position at Ewood. It may seem appealing to get Pearson or Bilic to come in but I can see them floundering around in the Venky void for a couple of years before moving on. Mowbray has the run of the club at the moment and is happy to have no input from above. Other manangers may prefer a different set up. Ainsworth has had success on the pitch but is obviously untested at a big name club. What he does have is a passion for Blackburn Rovers. I would take the risk and hope that he could start addressing some of the internal issues and build up some trust between the club and the fans once again. We may have to wait a while though.
  18. Mowbray : "we can be more ruthless away from home because teams attack us and that leaves space in-behind them for us to exploit" Was he at Stoke ??
  19. Great news about the new contract for Dack but many questions to answer before we know if we are getting the same Bradley back. Post injury fitness, pace, confidence, form. New increased celebrity status - does he still have filming commitments ? No Danny Graham to combine with - will he be as effective with Armstrong up front. Fingers crossed he comes back firing on all cylinders.
  20. Exactly. I see people are still pinning their hopes on Dack and Travis turning the season around when they return. As you quite rightly point out, it will make very little difference in the long run. We will still do just enough to be comfortable in mid table.
  21. Oh please. This must be a wind up. As for it being history, we are still living with then legacy of what happened un Kean. Protesting was/is the only option for fans to make their views felt.
  22. Haven't you just answered your own question? Maybe we are a better team and they have a better manager.
