Not to mention the fact that we are trailing woefully behind the likes of Millwall, QPR, Luton, Reading, Brentford etc. How much time and money have their managers had ?

“I’m not interested whether we finish 17th or ninth, personally. I’m only interested in the development of the individuals" What's this all about ? Sounds like a "non-competative" sports day at a primary school!

Always seems to be able to talk a lot of common sense in interviews too. More than some managers are capable of! -

I'm not suggesting Derek Adams as the next Rovers Manager but I just checked out his record. - All lower league and Scotland but an impressive CV. He got 2 promotions at Ross County and then kept them well placed in SPL. Also a cup final ( beating Celtic on the way - not checked if Mowbray was there at the time! ) and a 40 match unbeaten run between league 1 and prem. He got Plymouth promoted from l2 and within 1 place of playoffs in L1. Now doing wonders at Morecambe. Wouldn't be surprised if PNE look at him as an option. -
Same for every other club. I will never be thankful for the Venky's occupation of Rovers

Is he a manager or CEO ? -
It's interesting that nobody ever puts their name to these club statements. It states they have listened to feedback from the consultation process ( which was very hurriedly announced after the plans were leaked ) - so why on earth not consult the fans and stakeholders before wasting tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds drawing up and submitting the plans in the first place. Whoever is responsible needs sacking for that alone.

Fantastic news. Well done to everyone who opposed the proposals and especially the people who put a lot of time into the research and the letter. A united fan base can have a positive effect after all! I wonder if Waggott crumbled under the pressure or if Venky's got word of the unrest and advised him to drop the idea after initially approving it? Either way it's great news and hopefully the whole thing is dead in the water.

It's a strange situation. I get the feeling that Mowbray has probably had enough and wouldn't mind getting the sack. His body language, pitchside behaviour, interviews and general attitude suggests this to me. However, there is probably some substance in the theory that he won't 'walk' because he wants to protect his mates Venus and Waggott who may struggle to keep their jobs if he goes. Maybe the owners are leaving any decision making to Waggott so it's a stalemate. Waggott is not a football man in any way ( I've met him a few times ) - he is here to take care of the business side of things. I can't imagine that he would have the first idea what to do if Mowbray went and he was left to appoint a new manager. It could be that the owners have lapped up the brockhall scheme and want to see it through. Just think - Make a few million from the land sale, reduce costs in the future and have a better training set up than we have now! what's not to like ? A few restless natives are a minor consideration. So they want Waggott to stay in place until it's well under way and that means Mowbray stays too - whether he wants to or not. Mowbray and Waggott are getting the brunt of the ire but they are just a symptom of the owners' ignorance and lack of interest. As always, I will continue to encourage people to boycott (when you have the opportunity). We need to let the owners know how we feel. Turning up at Ewood out of habit just encourages them. I know, some people will say we will end up like Bolton if Venky's leave. I'd take that swap right now. Bolton will be back in the Championship within 2 or 3 years with engaged owners, a clean slate, no debt and an excited, rejuvinated fan base. Where will we be ?
-
Give Tony his dues. He's stuck with the same story for the last 4 years - He wants a slow build. He's spent his time at Ewood putting plans in place and he wants to see them through. This summer will see a lot of work, laying foundations and next season the results will be visible as the rebuild really starts to show some progress. Tony is determined to see his dream reach fruition by the end of 21/22 season - But that's enough about Brockhall.

Mowbrays Successor
Crimpshrine replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That may be true but in our current situation it's a very important factor. What Rovers need now, more than anything, is someone at the club who understands what the fans are going through. Someone who will always do the right thing for the club and someone who will be prepared to explain to Venky's where they are going wrong. Not someone who will take the money and toe the line. The club needs healing from the inside. To me, this is more important than instant success on the pitch. If he can do that and get some of his own passion forn Blackburn Rovers to rub off on the team so that we can be proud of them then he's the man for the job. -

Very little emotion from Mowbray in that interview. No passion at all. Didn't sound disappointed at all. All very matter of fact. Just another day at the office for him! -

noun noun: journey; an act of travelling from one place to another. Championship to League 1 ? -
Great letter. Well done indeed. We need to keep the issue in the public eye as much as possible and keep asking the questions that will make them uncomfortable. If they can't answer those questions, more people will start asking them and the pressure will increase. All the effort is very much appreciated.

Do you and your group of friends really believe this ? If Venky's had Rovers' best interests at heart they would also think about the fans and community. If they considered the Brockhall plans for 5 minutes they could ask: Will this please the fans ? Does this fit in with our promise about Jack's legacy? Will the benefits be worth the upheaval, time and effort ? Will there be any real benefits ? Will there be any benefit for outside ( or inside ? ) parties other than Blackburn Rovers ? It's because Venky's have no interest in the club that Waggott and Co have the opportunity to even think about selling off the crown jewels. What most fans feel for Venky's is the opposite of empathy because if we were in their shoes we really would do what was right for the club above all else - they don't.
-
In a fantasy world where Mowbray actually gets sacked, would we be looking at a similar list ? No Cowley on there and not too many foreign managers listed. No way Preston would go for Ferguson again. I can see them going for Appleton or Derek Adams. If that were a list of Potential Rovers Managers I'd plump for Ainsworth

Norwich (a) - 20/3/21

I know it's called a 'false nine' or something but it looked to me like we were playing 4,6,0 yesterday. This gave us lots of bodies in midfield and helped us stifle Norwich to some extent and we had a lot of possession. But really, it was all to what aim ? We got a point and Norwich had an off day but it felt like a friendly match with both teams simply sparring without really getting down to the nitty gritty. Surely, the nature of our goal will make the penny drop with Mowbray that the possession based tippy tappy stuff we have been attempting all season is just pointless. He's not going to change anything though. At least we are another day closer to Mowbray and Venky's eventually leaving I suppose. -

I went to that gig but obviously didn't get there as early as you did. Sadly Pete De Freitas died a couple of years later when he crashed his Ducati - maybe the very bike in the picture. -

I think I've got an episode of 'Alaskan Bush People' to catch up on. Or I may watch Rogue Traders and listen for the name Waggott.
