  1. He is playing centrally, so you would expect him to have more than anyone else. Ya, that Boro goal stick's in my mind too. A rare glimpse of that side of his game. Hopefully more to come. I'm more about team performances than Armstrongs numbers to be honest.
  2. Sounds like the gig is up. I know it's hard to watch, but keeping Mowbray til summer and getting this appointment right is better than pulling the trigger now and giving it to Venus or Johnson. Also agree no players will want to stay if Mowbray is manager. The game is clearly up for him.
  3. You used the word "hindrance" How many has he scored in the last 15? Many assists? He scored 9 in his first 9 games. Something has changed. You can ignore it all you want and point to the scorers chart, but there is an issue. He is part of a malfunctioning attack.
  4. I would ask, what has been more damaging-our defense, or the amount of chances we miss? So many games stick in my mind where we should have scored, only for us to be punished by the opposition. Now, we have just been straight up crap in games too, but in certain games we dominated, but just missed chance after chance. Now we are at the stage where we just look crap in the final third and aren't creating anywhere near the same amount of chances. A prime example would be the Bristol city game, missed chance after chance, then hit with a hammer blow goal after Williams slightly messed up. Many other games it was a similar pattern. With our defence, an excuse for them is the chopping and changing. It's not excuse for Mowbray though, because he was the one who neglected to sign reliable players for that position. The possession stuff counts for nothing really. You still need your forwards and defenders to do the basics right. We have been let down at both ends IMO.
  5. Ya, the new ads look like pop up spam
  6. Seems like AEW are getting cluttered to me. Too many talents, particularly older guys. Building of stars seems to stagnate beyond the elite. Really though, they just have too many wrestlers. I think the announcement of Christian was a bit embarrassing. Should have been a surprise. An announcement like that should have been used for Lesner or Punk. Not as embarassing as the end of the barbed wire match though. Christ. If that was Impact people would be in hysterics. They just have too many mid carders and too many old WWE/WCW guys. It's seems their strategy is getting cluttered. Signing names for quick rating boosts. They could be doing a lot more with the product imo.
  7. With the pressure pretty much off, we will probably draw this, could even win. Clearly the logical decision would be the keep the same line up. Over to to you, Tony Tombolo
  8. If that's true and he has taken 56 more shots than the next player, then how would that correlate with a good conversion rate? Unless I'm missing something?
  9. As difficult as it might be to believe, I do like Armstrong. I just think getting to the top of the charts went to his head and impacted his game. In a proper system I think he could excel. He is young too, so plenty of scope and time to improve his all round game. Not under Mowbray though. It's not balanced with him as a lone front man. Even the top teams who play one up top have players that contribute far more, including the basics of work rate.
  10. You presume? Oh right. They couldn't possibly be included in his conversion stats, if said stats reflect well. Wouldn't make sense. My favourite line? It's a factual stat,is it not? If he has had 56 more than the next player in the league, how many more than the next player in the squad? I would PRESUME he has had more shots than any player has had at this stage of a championship season ever.
  11. We have been absolutely rubbish in the final third for the last 15-20 games. Armstrong included. Teams have found us out. You can go to the scorer charts all you want. Fans see it. He has them on the board, but that was early in the season. Long time ago now.
  12. Can you break down how his goal conversation percentage is competitive? Does that include shots that don't get passed a defender? It's not frabricated. Johnson said it and if you know anything about football, how could you think he wasn't pulled up for that display? Elephant in the room if he wasn't At the end of the day, him being top scorer won't get us up. All round team play will do that. No team can carry a goal scorer who does little else these days. Even the top , top teams.
  13. Ah, so it did happen. I wouldn't say he was the only one who said it. One of the most self indulgent, wasteful and selfish displays I have ever seen on a football field. 9 shots. Pretty much all of which were the incorrect option.
  14. Don't be silly. It's clearly stop taking all those shots when you could pass it to someone who is obviously in a better position. 56 more shots that the nearest player. 56!
  15. Who said that? Must have missed it
  16. Our defence has been poor, but there were so many games where we didn't take our chances and needed up getting punished for it. So many more attempts than the opposition. Malfunctioning attack with shots taken instead of passes. It looks at times like the only one Armstrong trusts to pass it to is Elliott
  17. I agree something along those lines happend alright. From and including that bizzare Bristol city game. Should have won that game. Armstrong had 9 shots. At least 2-3 he could have played someone else in. I reckon his team mates were fuming and his view was along the lines of the defence of him on here. "I'm top scorer and that's all that matters"
  18. Why should he do less running? He's a professional athlete. The top strikers all work hard. Neither of them are suitable to play the lone striker role as it impacts on the overall team. Armstrong has the pace Rhodes didn't have, but Rhodes a far better finisher the
  19. Wasn't played upfront alone though, was he? Very different.
  20. 4000 metres more, wow, just wow. When Armstrong established himself as a top scorer candidate, before the first Bristol city game , you could see a noticeable change in him, clear as day. Shooting at every opportunity, sulky body language if not played in every time, not pressing well enough. Mowbray created a monster! As a lone front man, it's not going to work for the benefit of the team. Needs a partner, to be cashed in on, moved to the left, or to drastically improve his all round game.
  21. Armstrong is a class striker ,in the right set up he could excel. Maybe keep him, but under a different manager. I agree the team was set up to facilitate him this season we got found out and Mowbray couldn't adapt. Armstrong saw his name in lights and decided to go on a one man mission to score every goal. I don't think there will be a bid large enough to sell him. Hopefully it's a 7 game Mowbray winning run though 🤣
  22. Surely that Ronaldo picture should be banned from the site 🤣🤣🤣🤣
