Stoke City v Rovers (a) Sat. 19th Dec. 3pm

Still hasn't broken 20 goals in a championship season. Needs to start notching a few against the "better" teams. I hope he maintains the consistency. Would he? It's not doing him any favours. He looks lost. Be better off coming on for Armstrong ,in his position. -

Armstrong could easily fall off that pace too. He has never maintained it before. So even more incentive for Gallagher. Maybe he needs to be brave like Williams and say what his position is. -

My advice would be not to read social media and try and improve on the field How many comments from Wigan fans did Dack get saying he was fat? I used to see loads. Never seemed to impact him! -

I don't think anyone is blaming him. It's on Mowbray. He is playing him in a position that highlights weaknesses. It's like if Sunderland played Niall Quinn on the wing, instead of upfront with Kevin Phillips! -
Mike Newell back in Management

Best of luck to him. Wasn't he basically ostracized from football management in England for telling the truth? -

If he can't win the ball where he is, I don't see how he can against centre halves. I would love if he could -

Because ultimately we have no one in the box who can win a header, so it will be tippy tappy no matter what formation we play. -
TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021
Bigdoggsteel replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Because Gallagher can't hold it up. He has a poor touch and that's if he gets to the ball ahead of the defender. It comes straight back. We needed a proper target man. Maybe Gallagher will develop this, but we need it now. He should have been put on a program to make him bigger and stronger, but I suppose if you are pin pointed as a flying winger, that wouldn't make sense to people either! -
He's making excuses. Plain and simple.

As long as deliver in the games I wouldn't care, if you're not delivering then your life choices outside of football will be under scrutiny Roy Keane alluded to as much about Dwight Yorke. As long as he delivered, he turned a blind eye to his shenanigans. He apparently never missed training and always worked hard. -
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18957521.mowbray-feels-rovers-reputation-working/ A lot of nonsense here. If I didnt know better I would think he was under pressure. So teams have figured us out and we can't do anything about it? That's on you Tone, nobody else. It's not an excuse. Saying it's a journey ,we can't just flick a switch and that fans don't like that. We are just asking for some diversity in our attack. Back to point 1. Finally saying it was boys trying to score against men is an absolutely pathetic statement. If I read that as one of the players mentioned, I would be disgusted. I notice he conveniently left Gallagher out in that point too. Rich Sharpe needs to man up and be a journalist with some of these comments. With Martin O'Neill there was this ongoing battle he was having with a reporter, Tony O'Donoghue. It was great to see. Mowbray can literally say what he wants without question. Tony, have you ever gotten the tactics wrong?

Has Chapman started a championship game? Honestly I was surprised when I saw him on yesterday. How is he ahead of Davenport or Dolan? -

The proper captains would. I think an issue we are having is our captain is performing badly, so where does that leave him with scolding others? -

I don't want to be hard on the lad, but his general appearance has even gone to shit. Body language too. Scruffy looking little pudding, with his head constantly down and shoulders slouched. Has he bet a man since League 1? Should have been sent back on loan there. He's 23. He looks like a washed up cop from an American move who has "seen too much shit and is too old for this shit" I don't know what's gone on with him, but it's a noticeable deterioration. Hard to see him comimg back from this. -
Maybe a statto would know this, but are we the most impotent offensive team from set-pieces in the league? Corners and even frees are just pointless. We have maybe 2 that can win a header, Ayala and occasionaly Johnson. Lenihan unable to anymore it seems. I think the opposition have figured us out to be honest. The opposition managers always praise certain aspects, but they know deep down that we are very soft. Travis and Dack have fight in them, I'm just worried now that they are going to be coming into a team that's playing too much catch up. The Rotherham game, the throw in we won where nobody would get the ball, including Mowbray. Do ye remember this? It was unbelievable to me to be honest. In normal circumstances a loss to Wednesday next week would probably seal a manages faith ,in our position. It's not happening though and hopefully we do win!

Ya, talk of 30 million is crazy. Going off previous seasons, he could only score 4-5 more goals this season. His strength is his pace, yet we plod along across and backwards. Jesus get the ball forward quickly and let him run. We are screaming out for physical presence up front. We have no plan B. Got lucky against Millwall and Rotherham, but that can't be our "tactic" every game. -

Ah ya. Remember it now. The payers took it as a personal attack on Gallagher, whereas in reality it was more critical of Mowbray. Why he signed him and how best utilise his strengths. Well imo Gallagher has gone from a player who I wasn't against having back, to someone who impedes the team. All the players know he shouldn't be playing there. He should be sub for Armstrong and let him try and do that role well. Mowbray is messing with Dolan too. You can see already he's lost some of the magic. Davenport too, nonsensical approach to him. It's the Gallagher situation that's the worst though. It's no wonder we are shite pretty much every game he pays here. He's a big awkward lad, who isn't as strong as he looks. Doesn't have tricks, so usually tries to kick chase past a defender, who he typically just kicks the ball off and loses. It's hard to watch now to be honest. -

I wouldn't say Lenihan is a huge boozer, but I could be wrong. -
Eddie Howe would be the most exciting appointment since Hughes. The only problem we haven't a hope of getting him.

Also, what has happened Chapman? My god he has gone from a sprightly young lad, to lads in Sunday league who were out the night before and just managed to get out of bed, grab their gear and show up. He's literally a different person. Always had doubts about his attitude. I was shocked to see him on yesterday. Surely the sub was leave Elliott up there and bring Davenport on midfield? We probably won't see Chapman now again for a couple of months. I still think we will go close when we get everyone back, but no doubt we are under achieving at the moment and another manager could do better. I don't really even engage in considering a new manager, because I don't think there is any chance of it happening this season. It's play offs or nothing, so I really hope that if we miss out, this won't drag on and end up really damaging Mowbrays reputation here. He could walk away happy with the job he has done. -

Pity they can't go further so and see he would be better off not playing , rather than playing there.
