It's Nyambes decision. We don't know the ins and outs of it. So I don't see how the manager is automatically the one to blame.
-
Of course. Even if Nyambe doesn't want to sign, Mowbray clearly needs to over power him , get a pen in his hand and guide him to sign the contract.
-
He has started most games under Mowbray I bet. Not sure he was criticized very much ,but going off his recent performances, maybe it worked. Using Hoilett as "evidence" in this situation doesn't hold up. Different player, different manager, different situation. He could sign a contract next week and nobody would be losing their minds due to the sheer surprise of it! We just don't know what's happening with his contract. What we do know is Nyambe is starting and playing well for the manager.
-
What would that prove? Maybe his agent told him he could get a move somewhere and no matter what is offered here, he won't sign.
-
What? This is becoming the new Mowbray "doesn't play young players" You have absolutely no idea what's going on behind the scenes with regards his contract. He has started more games than he hasn't under Mowbray I would wager. He had definitely been the most used right back. I have no idea why you would think Mowbray "wants rid". It's not even Mowbray who sits down about contracts, is it? I'm sure someone else at the club does that with Nyambes agent. Big ,fast athletic players get muscular injuries regularly. Gareth Bale for example. Edit Just to add, it's been about the last 4 games only since Nyambe actually started offering something in attack. Although I do really like him,he's not Cafu just yet.

It's interesting Buckley and Davenport are the same age. I have seen more from Davenport than Buckley. Buckley seems to have a decent range of passing, but ya just won't get the time it looks like he needs playing for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship at the moment. Maybe send him on loan to the continent if that was an option. Scandinavia, Spain maybe even. National League may invoke reaction, but honestly, does anyone think a league 1 team with aims of automatic promotion would start him? He probably looks decent in training when no one is trying to clatter him. I think some fans are cutting him some major slack, for whatever reason. Not all players get it. One good through ball here and there just isn't enough if you want promotion. Even if he scores or assists soon, I wouldn't be jumping to "I told you so" if a fan of his. To play centre mid he needs to consistently offer something to the team. Why does Elliott look much more difficult to push off the ball? With Buckley anytime a player steps in he seems to go literally flying off the ball. Did he have it too easy underage? -

Very possible. I would certainly take a draw right now if offered it. -

To be fair Brereton had done a lot more at Forrest than Buckley has done in senior football, so we had that to cling to lol. Buckley now is luxury we can't afford. We have midfielders who can do more for the team. The step up from under 23 football is huge and you can see it with him. He probably should have been sent out on loan already, but as was mentioned the other day, would any league 1 manager guarantee him starts? I remember league 1 and I don't remember any players that slight in the midfield -
Nobody under appreciates his goals. People just think he can be an even better player if he picks the right pass instead of shooting at certain key points.

Rothwell is very frustrating. I do wonder if he will ever be consistent. The thing is though, he has shown some brilliant stuff. I'm yet to see much with Buckley. I have heard far more positive things than I have seen. -

I would make an exception for Keane to be fair but Kipres not in a comparative league. There's only 1 Roy Keane, but I'm sure we can get as good as Kipre without much hassle -

Oh gosh, I don't think this is group think or scapegoating. On Elliott ,ya he misplaced more ,cos he was on the ball far more. Buckley touched the ball 29 times. All I remember him doing is 1 bad crossfield ball and to be fair a good defensive hook. He was getting shunted off the ball left ,right and centre, as he usually does When has he played well? I don't mean that in a smart way -

No,I don't think so. He dragged on that decision after giving a yes first. I don't think people at Rovers will forget that. There are surely other options. -
Plus I think the value he brings just been around training and that is completely discarded. He has been instrumental in the goals against Millwall and last night,so that alone is worth something. What value would someone put on a win? Obviously not solely responsible, but instrumental in the goals The fact the deal took so long, suggests to me that it's nothing anyone should be getting worked up about in the grand scheme of things in relation to the club.

Kipre? He isn't even making the squad for WBA and he made his choice not to come here. Not for me either! -
For me it's Kaminski Nyambe Ayala Wharton Douglas Travis Johnson Elliott Dack Brereton Armstrong Or Kaminski Nyambe Ayala Wharton Douglas Dack Travis Holtby Elliott Armstrong Brereton Lenihan unlucky, but he hasn't been playing well and Wharton gives more balance with being left footed. He is left footed, isn't he??

Ya, very sanitized. The old reserve system made men out of boys a lot quicker. I think you are probably right about the kind of demand he is in. I can't imagine a League 1 manager giving any guarantees about him being a weekly starter. So he would probably get less game time than here. -

He's pathetic. That probably sounds harsh, but players who are constantly injured do my head in. I played with some over the years. It's most annoying when they are good. I remember I played with 1 brilliant lad, but like a couple of minutes into every game he would be down, game stopped for 10-15 min. Rumour has it he got injured playing poker one night. -

He mustn't have been like that for the under 23s though, or maybe you get more time. He looks way out of his depth playing senior though. I would say some looking for positives are digging further than people even did with Brereton looking for any positive to pick up on (prior to him becoming very useful to the team) -

Does that include shots where he hits a defender? Does it include penalties? The thing with stats is the Coventry and Wycombe games skew it and make it look much better for him. He probably had 6-7 shots in those games and scored 5 -
We need a prolific striker to get promoted and he is the only one who can fill that role, so best of luck to him. Bobby Firminho a good example of a selfless striker. Liverpool have the luxury that they don't overly rely on him for goals though
-
Not as simple as that. He could still be scoring many. This season he hasn't scored a huge amount where he has done pretty much all the work, like he scored last year. Now it's tap ins and getting on the end of stuff. The problem is he seems too desperate to score the crackers again and it's those type of shots he is taking on,where he should be looking to pass. For example last night, for the last 3-4 games he would have shot in the position here he assisted Elliott. So hopefully now we will see more of this. If he starts doing it, it will make him a much better all-round player and his stock will just rise. As for Van Nistelrooy. One of the best strikers of the PL era. He was great at bringing others into it too. Probably helped that he was 6 foot 3 , strong and also highly mobile.
