  1. Oh, Raya was so close to stopping the second! Nice coverage of the goals. Should have its own thread
  2. Wednesday looked very badly set up. Was he actually being man marked? Arrogance or nativity? Their manager got that badly wrong
  3. If he is given space in the final third he is lethal. Great dribbler, wins frees, direct, goes for goal either himself or selflessly. A huge danger. He hadn't been himself in the last few games. I hope this brings somes swagger where he can get away from the extra attention. He certainly had the beating of what a Wednesday thew at him.
  4. Hopefully not. I would be concerned about Downing. Hopefully he proves me wrong
  5. Ha ha Nice analogy. You see Mowbray is a working class man like ourselves, therfore he isn't sending Brereton to do the job, he's sending the qualified tradesmen in Graham. But you do need qualified apprentices
  6. I agree, but if Reed doesn't start right wing, who does? He has been a great addition. If all players we have signed on loan, he is "one of ours". The work rate and ability he shows. I hope we sign him
  7. If they do. They haven't in a few seasons now even though they have spent the money. We don't need Brereton to start right now. DG is doing the business
  8. I don't disagree that we need a replacment for Graham right now. The thing is he is doing the business more often than not. There isn't a huge need for Brereton to immediately be able to start and relegate DG to the bench
  9. Was Mulgrew "only" on that much? When he signed I read it was on 28,000 a week. He had a relegation release clause, but I assumed that was bumped up
  10. Ya, I agree, but he brings energy in there. A nightmare to play against. I wouldn't say he is a definite starter, just that he should be competing with Smallwood for the "destroyer annoyer breaker upper" role
  11. He doesn't see him as a striker now, but long term. Years ago managers would have had time to do this, now we can all have our say and get worked up into a tizzy about stuff we disagree with! If Grabban is on 30-35 Gs, that is certainly more than Mulgrew is on. I'd say he is our top earner. 28-30 I reckon
  12. Yes, but I don't think a team talk before a game, good or bad motivating or not should dictate the insipid performances against Wigan and Preston
  13. I would have it a straight fight between Smallwood and Bennett for the work horse position. We need more attacking threat on the wing, or Reed, because he's class and he needs to play somewhere
  14. I agree. As a replacement for Smallwood is his best role imo
  15. Villa and Forrest are gambling. If they go up, that's fine, but they will eventually hit a wall doing what they do in the championship Not soon enough in my opinion.
  16. The internet and 24/7 sports channels have changed everything. Impatience is now the norm. Look at the dingles When Evans and Smallwood are at their best they are an excellent shield for the defence. They do the work that allows the Dacks to do the business. When we lose, the discussion is about Smallwood and Evans not being attacking enough.
  17. I can't help but think Atkins would have gotten the same treatment as Evans and Smallwood do now in 94/95. Discuss
  18. That's what some fans can't get their head around. The cost of a player joining doesn't stop at the transfer fee. Grabban would have been a great signing, but he is on more than anyone else. If it doesn't work out then, you have the comparisons to the players you mention Plus, he is 30. No resale value.
  19. And Reed? He's not going to drop Smallwood or Evans
  20. Signing a new contract most certainly rules nothing out!
  21. Cracked metatarsal I read. I wonder would Conway have started if he was fit. Where does Bennett get back in now?
