Those saying Dack are slow are really doing him a disservice. Armstrong is quicker, but who do ye see beating players more often? Dack has the tricks to get past opponents and his strength and low center of gravity make it look as if he glides past them. I hope this "slow" thing doesn't become one of those tropes that gets said on here so much that people just start using it as gospel, when it isn't actually an issue at all. He is actually pretty quick running without the ball. It wouldn't be his main strength, but neither is it for ; Kroos, Modric and Hazard, to name a but a few. I would well believe the Spurs link. I think he is a better player than Grealish and they were definitely in for him. It would be a terrible move for him though, David Bentley esque written all over it.

I can see the game being tight. If we score first it might work out better for ye. We have an awful habit of sitting back on a lead. If the game is a draw or you're ahead, you will see the best of us. 2-1 Rovers, Dack x 2

I would prefer us to be portrayed that way. In fairness we were in League 1 last year. I still think on our day we can beat any of them The full house comments on Bristol are a slightly different thing -
I wouldn't say Long is awful. He is fast, strong and good in the air. It's just his finishing that is the problem. Combine that now with the awful drought he is on and you have confidence issues on top of everything. He is good upfront with a goal scorer. He starts most weeks for Southampton. I think he would be good playing the role Armstrong , Bennett, Rothwell or Palmer play for us. Ya, a few that should be in or were added too slowly over the past year. O'Neill is a very stubborn man. Models his approach on Brian Clough, Keane similarly. Both would have played under him. O'Neill won the European cup and isn't shy in mentioning that fact regularly! You can see why the players may not like the set up too much...old school to put it in a nice way. There was all of this scandal about Arter where Keane lost the head. There was even a whatsapp message from Stephen Ward doing the rounds about what goes on in the camp. This is shocking stuff. Absolute amateur hour

Are you ok this morning? When were Brentford , Norwich or Bristol referred to as heavyweights? Anyway, it's just a word, I wouldn't look too much into it -
Can't imagine he is. Amazing what £13 million gets you these days. I have no idea what his strengths are

Why?

Ah, come on now. They are heavyweights when it comes to the Championship, look at their squads and budgets. Leeds are most definitely promotion chasers, as are we -
Ya, that's arguably our strongest current 11. We have Brady and Coleman to come back in too. Hendrick has been really, really bad for Ireland. I don't know how he is playing for Burnley. I would just go straight 4-4-2 and drop him and play Long and Maguire or Robinson upfront. O'Neill needs to be sacked ASAP. He has lost the fans for definite and it looks like the players too, there is no turning it around.
-
Ya, the squad is poor no doubt about that. We have no striker of note and it's pretty much a case that most of our players are in and out of their club team starting 11. O'Neill left it too late to shake the squad up though and I don't think he is doing it right even at this stage. Total dinosaur when it comes to tactics and handling the media. Don't know about Scotland. They can't seem to get it together regardless of players or management. McLeish is probably more of a dinosaur than O'Neill in fairness We never had a team of superstars, but the approach and performances are the worst I have ever seen and most fans feel the same.

We seem to have lost the appetite to press and close down. The players have zero confidence on the ball. Won't take opponents on, nobody making runs. We were good at set pieces, now we are shit. It seems O'Neill and Keane have lost the dressing room. It's incredible they haven't been sacked. Recent stories about Keane behaviour would be shocking if it was about anyone else. O'Neill won't play form players, Doherty from wolves was sub for the last 3 games, makes no sense. He won't shut up about us missing Robbie Keane, move on man. Rice clearly doesn't want anything to do with it, like Grealish before and I can't blame either of them We haven't had a team of players from mostly top English clubs since the early 90s. Those days are gone, but we still have a squad of mostly Premier league and championship players. It's the management that is the issue. I can't see him lasting much longer.
-
I am. He should have been sacked after the embarrassment against Denmark in the play-off, it's outrageous that him and Keane are still there. In the last year I have seen the worst performances of all time from them. The players clearly don't have a clue what the tactics are. The two of them are batting their eyelids at any Championship or Premier league club who looks in their direction, highly disrespectful. We have Northern Ireland up next in a friendly and I am pretty sure they will beat us. It's embarrassing. Who would I like to see replace him? Who would want it. Chris Hughton would be my 1st choice, but I don't see why he would take it at this point. Realistically I would probably go for Michael O'Neill from Northern Ireland or the Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny. Some would want Mick MCarthy back, but I wouldn't. He had a good run in 2002, that ship has sailed. Big Sam would be good, but out of reach financially I would imagine. At lease he would play long ball football properly, O'Neill can't even get them doing that. Bad times.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16992421.rovers-boss-mowbray-gives-fitness-update-on-charlie-mulgrew/?ref=mac It sounds like there was some sensible conversations between McLeish, Mulgrew and Mowbary. Interesting quotes about Lenihan and Williams not being involved for Ireland. They probably picked up bad habits away with Ireland at the moment. Worst set up we have ever had, O'Neill is so clueless. He had James McLean left wing back with Williams on the bench, mad stuff. Cyrus Christie center midfield. The man has lost the plot. Better for Lenihan and Williams to focus on their club football at the moment too.
-
The nations league makes it more challenging for him to step out, but it's not just those games, there are friendlies too. The conversation needs to happen with McLeish. It's in everyone interests that he is fit as much as possible, for when it really matters.
-
That's great news.
-
I can see this leading to a clash between Mulgrew and Mowbray. He shouldn't be going with the international team for every game. Needs to be some common sense when it comes to friendlies. I remember last season when he went off to Peru or Costa Rica was it a few days before we played Bradford.
-
What time is that? I will be surprised if he is fit. Seems like he is getting a few niggles again. It's a worry
-
No news yet as far as I know
-
I like the look of that. We would need Nyambe and Bell to get up and down a lot though. Not sure if they would be up to being defensive and offensive outlets How about Raya Lenihan Rodwell Mulgrew Nyambe Bell Evans Reed Dack Armstrong Graham

Wow, see where he says he doesn't expect Gladwin to play this season? What kind of injury has he? There wasn't much about it when it happened, but he will be out for a year and a half at least by the time he returns. How odd. Davenport expected to feature in the next game or 2 for the Under 23s. Great news -

Glad to see my question made the cut -
In January? Ya, that's the fear and stranger things have happened than a club bidding £20 million plus for Dack. A few very interesting transfer windows coming up for the club
-
Ya, I think £20 million plus would be a big outlay for a guy with half a season of Championship football to his name. It is inevitable that he will leave for big money, but I don't think it will happen as soon as January. Unless a team fighting relegation from the Premier league decides to roll the dice...Hopefully not.
-
I don't see any reason why he will go in January ,barring we get an offer of £20 million plus. Will a team bid that much?
