It's heartening to see Mani rock up for every transfer thread to tell us how transfers really work. Mercer should be here soon to sell Dack and Lenihan to Bolton. ?

Friday. I've not even got a ticket for the match yet. I only found out I'm not needed in work after they'd sold out. I'm now hoping some nice Preston mates will sort one out for me. If I go it will be a case of being quiet and watching the massed ranks of Roverites enjoying themselves (hopefully). Shame PNE are such a small club that they only have a small stadium.

The plot thickens. When I say 'plot', I obviously mean bullshit. ?

None taken. I make it a rule to only post when I'm in the VIP area of the many clubs and parties I go to.

Don't confuse him?

Get the bus from Preston Bus Station. There's a 59 (via Samlesbury) and a 152 (via Hoghton) that go from Preston to Blackburn and vice versa. The last 152 out of Preston is 11pm https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-transport/bus-timetables/bus-timetable-service?service=LAAO152 https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-transport/bus-timetables/bus-timetable-service?service=LAAO059

When I was a lad Instagram was the name for a very efficient drug dealer.

He's also a bit of 'character' so he's probably good for the tele. Not that I watched it so I've no idea if he was or not?

Travel to and from the game PLUS ST costs me pretty much exactly £630 a year. I live less than 15 miles away from Ewood.

No, Friend 2 was being penalised for not being able to commit sooner. There is no discount for committing earlier, just an additional charge for not being able to. The arguments to justify by the club for doing this are completely bogus and have bigger holes than a defence containing Darren Peacock. I'd be very surprised if they still charge it next season. Instead they should employ more people at the ticket office and make buying match day tickets a lot easier and cheaper on the day. £20 is plenty. Your experience with your daughter though proves what a scam it is. I hope the FF take your example forward next time they engage with the club.

I'll check it out Plau is getting rave reviews. It's on the right as you reach the top of the Friargate brow, just before Roper Hall. Only been open a couple of days. Looking forward to that and the Black Horse. I think Northern Way is competitively priced in a Wetherspoons kind of way. It's what used to be O'Neills.

Who's doing the Friargate pre-match (and post-match) crawl besides me and @chaddyrovers? Starting at the Black Horse (brilliant pub) moving next door to Ballers (some new sports bar) over the ring road to the Old Black Bull (just been done up) then on to …..The Northern Way (new pub)https://www.blogpreston.co.uk/2018/10/new-pub-the-northern-way-has-opened-in-friargate/ …. and Plau https://www.blogpreston.co.uk/2018/11/plau-gin-and-ale-bar-opens-in-friargate/ (opened the other night) ….then the Adelphi ….. and then 50 yards up the road to new pub Vinyl Tap https://www.blogpreston.co.uk/2018/09/revamped-pub-the-vinyl-tap-prepares-to-open/ A football match happens. Then do the crawl in reverse order. Good Times

Two friends want a Rovers home matchday ticket. Friend 1 buys theirs on the phone at 11.30am and agrees to pick it up from the ticket office. Friend 2 can't commit yet due to work so tells his mate he'll meet him at the ground if he can get off work in time. He says he'll meet Friend 1 in their usual spot if he makes it. At 2.30pm Friend 1 gets to the ticket office and queue's for his pre-paid ticket. It costs him £27. He gets to their usual spot and sees Friend 2 already there. Friend 2 got there half an hour earlier but paid £30. Seems fair ?

I bet Waggott can't believe his luck. 'Mike, did you hear that, the FF are actually trying to help us rip off the fans by suggesting a way of charging them the same but in a way that makes them think they are actuslly getting a discount. It's like when shops put up prices in the run up to the sales and then drop them to where they were at the start. The FF are enabling our racketeering. Mike? Mike??!! Stop laughing and get off the floor' 'Hahahahahaha. I can't. I've never known the like. Hahahahahahaha………………….'

Hopefully singing 'We will follow the Rovers over land and sea ... and PRESTON'. I'd pay to watch that. It's a hell hole these days.

Such a shame 800 people are being slammed with the Attendance Tax every home game. Shameless profiteering by the club. I'm sure those people would much rather have bought a pint/hot drink/pie instead. As you say one fan being put off by the surcharge is one too many. As you also say the surcharge probably doesn't put many off. Therefore why is a reason for the surcharge because Rovers need to know how many more pies to order? Not many would be the obvious answer so why are loyal Rovers fans being asked to pay more because the club are logistically incompetent and can't work that particular equation out. The same applies to queues at the ticket office. Again, this is not about hordes of frustrated Rovers fans who can not pay the £3 surcharge but desperately want to go. It is why the club thinks it is acceptable to charge fans who perhaps don't know if they can make a match until 1pm for various reasons (work/family etc) are having to pay more. It is the principle, it's not about whether some bloke who doesn't go would be happy to pay something he knows he won't have to pay (Hello Miller) It's also not about someone with a ST saying 'Well, I'd pay the surcharge, doesn't bother me, life's too short' blah blah blah. Also, your idea of pricing tickets higher is bizarre. The people affected by the surcharge are still going to be paying the same. You've just priced the surcharge in from the start. ? Just because 800 fans pay a surcharge does not mean they are happy to do so. The fact 800 pay it is not a justification for charging it. It should be scrapped and I'm surprised this wasn't suggested by the FF (or at least you've only mentioned your strange 'compromise' in your post). PNE don't charge it and they will have the same logistical issue as Rovers. I don't believe for one minute Rovers order pies based on ticket sales at 1pm so why charge £3 extra at that point. It will have no impact on the pies Rovers order unless Waggott runs over to Leavers with a bag for life at 1.30pm to make up the shortfall. Also, If Waggott can't work out what to do with a few pies after a game he's in the wrong job. Give them to the homeless. The club aren't that skint if they are spending £7m on a striker and handing out new contracts left right and centre. Unless the surcharge has paid for all that? There is no justification whatsoever for this Attendance Tax. Disclaimer:- **** JUST BECAUSE I DON'T AGREE WITH A SURCHARGE DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T LOVE MY CLUB. I JUST THINK IT COULD DO BETTER THAN RIPPING OFF FANS ****

What Grealish and Dack have in common is strength. They are both incredibly difficult to knock off the ball. Neither have genuine pace so not sure that is a discussion. They are different players anyway. Grealish is a playmaker …. Dack is 30% playmaker/70% goal machine. I think Dack is a bit of phenomenon if I'm honest. There is no-one else like him in the Championship.
