  1. AA up front according to Sharpe but he's probably just guessing. No Evans after he played both International games. Shocker.
  2. Josh Boswell‏ @JoshBoswell Follow Follow @JoshBoswell More Replying to @PJCrisps Nope. Not a derby. Like playing Sunderland. 1:33 am - 24 Nov 2018 Shameful ignorance.
  3. You're probably in the wrong thread then.
  4. Possibly but I thought he was poor against Rotherham even before his injury. Rotherham bossed us in midfield 1st half with only Smallwood offering any resistance. We improved massively 2nd half with Bennett in there.
  5. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17253556.preston-v-rovers-key-battle-predicted-teams-odds-referee/?ref=mac Sharpe expects Rovers to go with:- Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Bell, Smallwood, Evans, Bennett Dack Armstrong, Graham I'd personally have gone with Williams instead of Bell but that's probably our strongest line-up at present. Armstrong and Graham need to start delivering more at the top end of the pitch. Of Mowbray's 'two and a half attackers' only Dack (the half) has contributed much. PNE unbeaten in 7 and have scored 4 goals in each of their last two home games. They are favs with the bookies. Very tough game. Prediction 2-2 18,795
  6. https://roverschat.com/preston-north-end-v-rovers-tony-mowbrays-blue-white-army-we-sing-this-song-for-you/ "I noticed a graphic that the Preston North End Twitter account tweeted last week. A picture of Paul Gallagher with the tagline “secure your seat for derby day!” Derby day? What derby day? This is a derby, not the derby. Either that or Preston see us as a bit of a big one now" Dear god. He's arguing it's not 'derby day' then admitting it is a derby. It is a local derby and always has been. This is geographically indisputable. The day it is played on is therefore 'derby day'.
  7. It's a great shame they aren't more committed to the club. To say they are passionate Rovers fans is a joke if they live locally but only manage 2 games a season.
  8. Mogga on Dack:- "My belief is that he owes us something back in the short-term. In the mid-term we have to give him a team that he can keep producing in." I think that is fair comment. Rovers took a gamble on Dack when nobody else would. Whether it works like that in Dack's head if we get a big bid for him in January is another matter...
  9. "We bought him for 750k, if we sell him for £25m I'd hope I get a good chunk of that to spend on two or three players." 7.20pm https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17242330.live-blackburn-rovers-supporters-consultation-meeting/?ref=mac
  10. Someone has to make the tea. Preston FFS!
  11. Can't argue with that. Best of a bad lot.
  12. Reading the LT summary it says a fan suggested Venky's should apologise. How does that work if they are putting £25m or even just £10m a year. Why would they apologise? Everybody gets why they are not liked but an apology? Their point of view will be 'we put loads of money in and you want an apology as well'. It's a bit nuts to be honest.
  13. I like the new look. A bit of yellow or red thrown in there and it would be rather triffic.
  14. I'm not disputing any of that. Back up sista!

  16. http://www.true-faith.co.uk/jim-iley-an-appreciation/ Nice write up by a Geordie. Good to see he went down in folklore somewhere. He must have been the manager when I started watching Rovers in 78 but I don't remember much about him. I don't think it went well for him at any rate. I presume Kendall took over from him? RIP. edit: it was '79 when he was manager.
  17. The frustration is they could have built on those good players Bowyer bought for a pittance and let him buy more. He could obviously spot them. Even if they didn't think he could have taken us up they could have changed managers and continued to invest. Instead they sold everyone, left Bowyer with just enough budget for the likes of that shite forward Keita/Koita and then sacked him when he wasn't top of the league. Now we are spending £7m on a young lad. Money was never a problem. The problem is they don't understand football and they can't just click their fingers like petulant brats and expect promotion and then 'punish' the club when it doesn't happen. Hopefully Mowbray is getting through to them and they don't throw their dummies out again when we have a bad run.
  18. The same Cairney who was superb in that position and got player of the season in his 1st year ( I may have made that up) and then after a poor 2nd season still got as a big money move to Fulham. I bet Cairney loves Bowyer.
  19. It doesn't help when his best players are sold from under him (Gestede) and he's then told the next day he's expected to achieve promotion. I think he'll always be held in high-regard by most right-thinking Rovers fans
  20. He'd probably be able to ghost in at the back post unnoticed though.
