  1. Lots of optimism built up over the last few weeks, disappeared in 45 minutes there. Too many not doing their jobs. Defence looks nervy and Pears not so assured. Think the midfield have gone missing and no fight at the top of the pitch either. Three changes needed at half time. This will finish 4 or 5 otherwise.
  2. I daren’t make any predictions, I just want us to do it so much. I am delighted with our recent form and to be still in with a shout of a play off place and a possible trip to Wembley, in the cup too, sends shivers of the excitement I haven’t had about Rovers, for a long time.
  3. It is definitely true. Simply played the home game there and the away fixture at Ewood. It reminds me of something else too. We drew Millwall away in the FA cup and due to some hooliganism, they had been banned from staging FA cup games, at home. With it being their home fixture, they played in blue and we payed in our changed strip. It is the only time I remember us not wearing the blue and white halves at Ewood. Does anyone else recall that?
  4. Welcome to this forum and to the life of a Blackburn Rovers fan. Hopefully you can find something in the bug for Rovers that we all have on here. Not easy I guess, when you have supported the Shakers for all of that time. I am biased, but Rovers are pretty unique, in a lot of senses of the word, from winning 3 FA Cups in a row to being founder member of the football league and premier league and also being the only town team to win the premier league too. I guess you will have had a few ex Rovers players to watch over the years too at Gigg Lane too. The late great Lenny Johnrose being one and Mark Patterson being another. I have two mates who played for Bury too, the late Brian Pilkington and Jamie Hoyland, who is now a youth team coach at Everton. Hope you enjoy the rest of the season following Rovers and help to cheers us on, our way back to the premier league and a trip or 3 to Wembley.
  5. I am totally saddened and sickened by this and like many others, hope the person responsible for this is brought to justice. Most people who go to games, do so, with respect for their fellow supporter, whether it is their local rival, or a team with little or no past history. At the end of the day, we all have family and friends and it is simply shocking that someone can lose their life, just because he or she supports a rival team. I am sure the football world and both Blackpool and Burnley will pay their respects to the supporter who sadly lost his life and I would love to think, it has taught some people with a propensity for this type of thing, a lesson.
  6. Probably FFP. This is where Rovers Academy is proving to be so valuable. No fees paid to sign a lot of the team that started on Saturday and even at an average of £2m each that is one hell of a saving. Jack's legacy still paying dividends almost 23 years after his death. RIP big fella, plently, to be proud of still.
  7. Horrible news about the poor Blackpool fan. This kind of thing should not be happening at football matches.
  8. He did that so well, I nearly fell of the sofa. Mesmerizing
  9. I watched on Rovers TV having popped from Spain to Italy as a Very Proud Northerner. What a great win and performance. I am literally shaking as I type this. Great credit to everyone for not getting bullied. Sheffield UTD very dirty and how Basham did not get a second yellow is beyond me. What a move for the goal. Defence magnificent and the midfield worked like Trojans too. Great to see Travis back at his best. I am Buckley fan and thought he was immense again. Great teamwork throughout and who knows, perhaps we are good enough for second.
  10. One has to wonder how many others have gone wrong in the last, but we have managed to sort them out, as we had time? Maybe the EFL were fed up of for example sending the Hyam papers back 2 or 3 times, before the finally got them right. They may well do this all the time, but on this one deadline day deadline minute, meant we had no time to go back and correct it. Billy Smart would do a better job.
  11. It was always looking unlikely and quite frankly, I am glad to see the back of it now. We made a mess of it and then tried and failed to appease people.
  12. Probably second best draw we could have had. Amazing that the first, second and fourth place championship sides are in the quarterfinals
  13. I’m fairly happy with the draw. We will take 5,000 and we stand a good chance. Better than Dingles draw for sure.
  14. With a trip to wembley at stake, I am hoping for a home tie and would be wanting to avoid, both of the Manchester clubs. I would really fancy us against anyone else, especially if we play like we did last night.
  15. It’s nights like this that make me so proud to be a supporter of the best club in the world. From away trips to Scunthorpe to this tonight. My heart is pumping so much, I won’t sleep. Truly superb performance and result. We are the ROVERS
  16. It tends to be midweek games that are available in the UK. Most games are available overseas, but when the game is chosen for foreign TV it does then exclude certain countries. This weekend for example, you could get the QPR game in Spain and Germany, but not in France. I paid £140 for the year, as I spend most of my time in Spain and do find that decent value for money, as it covers home and away games. From what I can gather, there is a £10 per game option too, hence me suggesting £140 for all available games is good value.
  17. If they are already up and are champions (it is inevitable) it might not be as bad. We do need to turn them over though and let's face it, we could well secure a play off place, if it is very close to the end of the season, due to it being re-arranged.
  18. I am not relaxed about it all. I hope like hell they do not clinch either the title or promotion at our place. I have already had the game enter my dreams, even though it is potentially 3 weeks away and probably longer if it gets postponed due to cup commitments. I want us to rip them a new one and hope both Wharton brothers play and score.
  19. Sad stuff that with David Hopkinson. I didn't know him, but from reading your post, he sounds like a great bloke. I have had the honour of knowing one of the players, who played for the Clarets, the last time they won a major trophy, namely the old division one title. I know Brian Pilkington was very proud of that achievement I have shared at least 20 conversations, with people who called into his office to share the memories and ask for memorabilia to be signed. A great man Brian and I hope he is resting in peace too.
  20. Good coverage for us live on TV. Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves. It would be nice to got into the quarterfinals and given it’s decided on the night, no replay to worry about.
  21. Juts in case no one else does, I will mention it.
