  1. I’ve had time to calm down and stop shaking. What a brilliant game and a brilliant advert for championship football. That will be the best quarter final. To be ahead with less than 10 minutes left, the lose, leaves m close to tears. To reflect on the performance and the recent league form, makes me proud of the team again. I have not been this excited about a game, since the take over and actually thought I had lost my love for the club. I hope we can dust ourselves down, make the play offs and get promoted. We are good enough to do that. A word on the ref, you great bottle job, that was a second yellow for Robinson and that’s what costs us, despite what happened after,
  2. There was an interview before the match with JDT. It was live too on the side of the pitch.
  3. Sleep, what’s that? It’s Christmas Eve Santa is coming and I’m 8 years old again. Come on you blues.
  4. It was and they had previously won 5 in a row 1-0 not 3. Nearly right though!!!
  5. The Italian lad who scored their goal looked a good player. It was mentioned on Rovers TV that he was on loan from Chelsea and you can see he has star quality. I think we have a real gem in Wharton and I am looking forward to him coming back into the team. I had a chat with Scott a whole ago and he said at the time, he did not consider himself the best footballer in his family. I also spoke to a youth team coach about him and he said how good a prospect he was. For those who have watched him in the youth teams, I am sure you know better than I do, as I have only seen his appearances, in the first team, but I genuinely believe from what I have seen, that he is the real deal.
  6. Absolutely. He has been frustrating at times, but his performance last night was at least 7/10. Happy to see him starting again and like other players, dropping him, might have given him time to reflect and get his act together.
  7. Seems fair enough to me. I hope we can reciprocate with the result too.
  8. It has just struck me, the FA Cup game on Saturday, now takes on some extra significance. It is the financial cheats derby.
  9. How about 40 then, just to be sure? I have a horrible feeling about these accounts and think they need looking at by HMRC very closely.
  10. I agree. I have been waking up during the night thinking about these two games and hope like hell that by this time next week, we are still in the cup and the top six. Greedy I know, but we are more than capable of this.
  11. Award 4 goals to the Rovers straight away. They can’t be doing that, just to win the derby. I knew there was something suspicious going on, that day in November.
  12. When I looked at the recent predictions thread for the remaining games, I could not bring myself to do it. Although we have been on a decent unbeaten run, we were always capable of returning to type and that's exactly what we did last night. My hope now is that we do not do that in the "six pointers" as we do have some crucial games in the next ten, with Coventry at home, Luton at home and Millwall away, all being crucial games. I do believe we can make the top six and can still afford the odd slip up, but please do not do it too often lads.
  13. Lots of optimism built up over the last few weeks, disappeared in 45 minutes there. Too many not doing their jobs. Defence looks nervy and Pears not so assured. Think the midfield have gone missing and no fight at the top of the pitch either. Three changes needed at half time. This will finish 4 or 5 otherwise.
  14. I daren’t make any predictions, I just want us to do it so much. I am delighted with our recent form and to be still in with a shout of a play off place and a possible trip to Wembley, in the cup too, sends shivers of the excitement I haven’t had about Rovers, for a long time.
  15. It is definitely true. Simply played the home game there and the away fixture at Ewood. It reminds me of something else too. We drew Millwall away in the FA cup and due to some hooliganism, they had been banned from staging FA cup games, at home. With it being their home fixture, they played in blue and we payed in our changed strip. It is the only time I remember us not wearing the blue and white halves at Ewood. Does anyone else recall that?
  16. Welcome to this forum and to the life of a Blackburn Rovers fan. Hopefully you can find something in the bug for Rovers that we all have on here. Not easy I guess, when you have supported the Shakers for all of that time. I am biased, but Rovers are pretty unique, in a lot of senses of the word, from winning 3 FA Cups in a row to being founder member of the football league and premier league and also being the only town team to win the premier league too. I guess you will have had a few ex Rovers players to watch over the years too at Gigg Lane too. The late great Lenny Johnrose being one and Mark Patterson being another. I have two mates who played for Bury too, the late Brian Pilkington and Jamie Hoyland, who is now a youth team coach at Everton. Hope you enjoy the rest of the season following Rovers and help to cheers us on, our way back to the premier league and a trip or 3 to Wembley.
  17. I am totally saddened and sickened by this and like many others, hope the person responsible for this is brought to justice. Most people who go to games, do so, with respect for their fellow supporter, whether it is their local rival, or a team with little or no past history. At the end of the day, we all have family and friends and it is simply shocking that someone can lose their life, just because he or she supports a rival team. I am sure the football world and both Blackpool and Burnley will pay their respects to the supporter who sadly lost his life and I would love to think, it has taught some people with a propensity for this type of thing, a lesson.
  18. Probably FFP. This is where Rovers Academy is proving to be so valuable. No fees paid to sign a lot of the team that started on Saturday and even at an average of £2m each that is one hell of a saving. Jack's legacy still paying dividends almost 23 years after his death. RIP big fella, plently, to be proud of still.
  19. Horrible news about the poor Blackpool fan. This kind of thing should not be happening at football matches.
  20. He did that so well, I nearly fell of the sofa. Mesmerizing
  21. I watched on Rovers TV having popped from Spain to Italy as a Very Proud Northerner. What a great win and performance. I am literally shaking as I type this. Great credit to everyone for not getting bullied. Sheffield UTD very dirty and how Basham did not get a second yellow is beyond me. What a move for the goal. Defence magnificent and the midfield worked like Trojans too. Great to see Travis back at his best. I am Buckley fan and thought he was immense again. Great teamwork throughout and who knows, perhaps we are good enough for second.
  22. One has to wonder how many others have gone wrong in the last, but we have managed to sort them out, as we had time? Maybe the EFL were fed up of for example sending the Hyam papers back 2 or 3 times, before the finally got them right. They may well do this all the time, but on this one deadline day deadline minute, meant we had no time to go back and correct it. Billy Smart would do a better job.
