  1. Granted I was a kid at the time and sadly never made it as a paid player, but I remember the the fierce rivalry between the primary school I went to and the once closest to us. It made it worse, as we were the RC and the were C of E. We never had a pitch at our primary school and they did and they saw us as the soppy Catholic kids. When it came to playing them on their own pitch twice, I was literally dragged off the pitch at the end, with my shorts and shirt almost hanging off and blood on my face on both occasions As skipper, I made pretty fucking sure all my team mated knew exactly what it meant turning them over and a 1-0 and 2-0 victory in those two game never felt sweeter in my life. I would love to think we will have a couple of our players feeling the same way come the return fixture at Ewood and hope for that reason the Wharton brothers both start the game. So long as we see all the lads run through the proverbial brick wall next time, I would begrudgingly accept a defeat, but they better try this time and make sure limbs are sore and they are battle scarred, come what may.
  2. The old narrative we can only affect the future not the past and we will learn from our mistakes will be rolled out. Of course for 12 years now, the mistakes have continued, so much so that I can only come to the conclusion, they are either deliberate, or are caused by the care free way the owners behave, but hey ho, I am just a fan of 51 years standing, what would I know?
  3. As JDT said in last nights post match interview, Watford have made 8 new signings in the window. They are above us in the league and with the new signings and healthy competition for places, they will blow us away. At lease a two goal margin and probably more and I see us failing to notch again. 2-0 or 3-0 for me this one.
  4. People tend to forget that the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle were down to much lower crowds than then get these days too. Sub 10,000 even for them, was not unheard of, back in the day.
  5. I am abroad so can't go, but paid the £140 to get all the games on Rovers TV that are not on Sky etc. Although I watched it, I enjoyed happy valley the night before a lot more. For me to say that is also a sign that the club are sinking. I am half tempted to go out somewhere on Saturday afternoon, instead of suffering yet another display like this.
  6. If anything, this could simply lead to a break away super league. No need to follow the premier league rules then and it just let's the filthy rich backers so what they want. I would never watch it and I am slowly but surely falling out of love with the game anyway.
  7. I will whisper this, but that drubbing, was from the team, who won the league at a canter, With the way we look at the minute, be afraid, be very afraid. I am dreading that game now and hope like hell, either their form takes a dramatic turn for the worst, or ours improves, even more dramatically
  8. A very disgruntled man there, giving that interview. He mentioned Watford signing 8 players and Wigan 6 as well as us signing 1 and 2 leaving. He also had a dig at the O’Brien signing, pointing out that he is a midfielder and we need strikers. He won’t be here next season, I’m sure of that and must have now realized he is working with a bunch of amateurs.
  9. I don't know if anyone remembers this, but it is pretty damning. BRFC.pdf
  10. I actually think with all the money at the top end of the premier league and also what is going on with the like of the breaking City story today, getting promotion, is probably no longer the answer the the problems, we have and lots of other clubs have too. We are currently looking at our great rivals with envy, but when the go up, to be able to compete, they will need to spend an absolute fortune and doing that, potentially leads to the situation, you have described above, or even worse. Bolton and Derby nearly ceased to exist. I remember having a conversation with a former work colleague and Burnley fan, when they have loads of cash in the bank, but along came a buyer, did what they did and immediately plunged them into debt. Granted what they have done this year, means they will enjoy ( or endure ) the riches of the prem again next year, but had this season not gone as well as it has, would they also now have been staring into the abys?
  11. SST Investing on Twitter: "20 year-old Sarbjot Johal, his mysterious businesses, his alleged source(s) of wealth, and his ongoing attempted takeover of @MorecambeFC Morecambe (and English football) fans, buckle up 🦐 A DETAILED INVESTIGATION 🧵👇 https://t.co/Phf4H9BMcu" / Twitter
  12. Has anyone seen the takeover fiasco at Morecambe? I read it over night on Twitter, so will try to post it on here. Some similar happenings to VH taking over Rovers, but maybe a bit more suspicion about the money going in with the weekly washing.
  13. It remains to be seen, what their punishment is. Newcastle seem to be doing very well, since their take over and may get some silver wear into the club, before they are brought to task too. FFP seems to be causing problems everyhwhere.
  14. https://www.skysports.com/share/12804577 Could city be in trouble, or will this be swept under the carpet? Given our transfer woes this wee and also the word about the appeal needing to be fair to all EFL clubs, how does this leave that situation?
  15. No surprise there. I would be furious if I was him. I really can’t see him staying on and will be very surprised if he doesn’t walk, once the play off chance has disappeared.
  16. Or if O’Brien called Broughton a twit and got sacked? All hypothetical. My finger hovered over the A when I wrote twit.
  17. Don't be a blue bird variety and a great one too. Especially if there are a pair of them as they sound worse in the plural.
  18. Getting pumped off Leicester makes the club over £300k and making sure the O'Brien deal doesn't happen saves £65k per week, so a fruitful night all round for someone. If you call it 20 weeks wages plus the cup time money I reckon around £1.6 million better off than we otherwise would be. If your only priority is the immediate bottom line a good nights work, for the man with an extremely busy in box.
  19. The money to pay O'Brien could also be a fib. Perhaps the man targeted with balancing the books and setting the season ticket prices, knew his bonus was up the tubes, it it did really happen, so made sure something was amiss. It has happened before under these owners with Agnew and Shaw, hiding things, so would not be a huge leap of faith.
  20. Just in case there needs to be any clarification, or for anyone getting bounce backs, use this. Sw4gg0tt@rovers.co.uk
  21. Maybe this latest escapade will mean even less will buy next season, so dividing his figure by 5,000 may not be as easy. The opportunity is here now, if enough season ticket holder insist on a proper explanation, or vote with their fee. His E Mail address is out there now, so pass it on as you see fit and let's nail him.
