  1. It just takes something like this, which I’m sure will work.
  2. We will not sell 5,000 adult tickets.
  3. This has been a huge own goal and a missed opportunity. How about this, which I know is now too late and will have fallen on deaf ears. Operation fill Ewood Given the special year in the history of Blackburn Rovers football club, we have a new and exciting offer, that, we hope the fans will get behind. The aim is to sell 12,000 adult season tickets at £150 per person, but in order to ensure the funds are still available for the clubs plans, we have a plan to ensure that we meet a minimum target, hence the 12,000 adult tickets. Our proposal is an initial pledge to buy and we request that a payment of £50 is made and this will be deducted form the £150 if the numbers are met. The deadline for this, will be 01/05/2025. Once pledged, no refund will be made if the target is met, as we will expect the £100 remaining payment is then made and the season ticket will be allocated. In the event of the numbers not being met, then the option is to claim a full refund, or the payment can be used to buy at the normal prices. For each adult ticket purchased, so long as the target of 12,000 is met, an option to purchase up to 2 children's tickets for £30 each will be offered.
  4. I honestly believe if Pasha was driven out, they would sell. He is the owners eyes and ears and is currently telling them the club does not need their funding and can run itself. He is ex Kentaro and has been here from the start.
  5. I spent all of my early years watching from the Riverside terraces, before eventually moving to the Blackburn End, when the kids were born. All 3 of us had season tickets in the lower tier and all love our time there. Sadly, this has been destroyed forever now and although my Grandson is a Rovers fan, I am struggling to build the club up too much to him.
  6. i think they are in for a rude awakening, as there seems to be a groundswell here, as even some of the most loyal season ticket holders, are now, asking questions.
  7. It's a great idea and I hope this is announced, as I am sure this will make an impact on those destroying the club.
  8. Hi didn't really make the grade at Rovers, hence you not remembering him. I recall him, but had to search to get the info below, which I hope you find useful. Played the odd game as a stand in mainly. As a youngster Glenn represented Wigan schools at both football and rugby league and he joined the town's football club, Wigan Athletic, when he left school.[3] His Football League debut arrived as a 17-year–old substitute against Port Vale on 6 September 1980, in place of his future Chester City team-mate Peter Houghton.[3] During his time at Wigan, he had a one-month trial with Chelsea in November 1982, during which time he played four times for their reserve side. The next three years produced more than 70 league appearances before he moved to Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer in August 1983.[3] After failing to establish himself as a regular in the Blackburn side, Glenn rejected the offer of a new contract in the summer of 1985 and joined Fourth Division side Chester City.[3] He played his first game for the club in a 1–1 draw with Halifax Town on 17 August 1985, alongside fellow debutants Wakeley Gage, Milton Graham and Lee Harley, in Harry McNally's first game as Chester manager.[4] Glenn helped Chester win promotion in his first season at the club, scoring his only goal in a 3–2 win at Colchester United late in the season.[3]
  9. This is another defeat, I think, which will probably ruin my 60th birthday celebrations. I will be watching form Spain on Rovers TV so hope I can raise a glass at the end to salute a much needed victory, but I do have my doubts.
  10. Interesting comments by the Watford fans. Lets hope he has improved since last March, as we have a few centenary season tickets, to offload. An exciting appointment like this with a vow to play possession based entertaining football, should mean they fly off the shelves.
  11. That’s like Casanova turning gay.
  12. He can hardly deny it, so in reality it isn't an excuse in the first place, just a convenient way of fobbing the fans off.
  13. I am totally playing devil's advocate here, but if the same rules apply for money we receive for transfers out, then we can do this at £1m per annum, spread over 4 years. Problem Solved. 🙂
  14. Agreed and if the club are asked about a budget, they usually hide behind, not wanting to show their hand. Given the last few windows and the lack of funds coming in from the owners, I can't see how, we can possibly be signing the number and quality required.
  15. What's your opinion of what this will cost and how much do you think will be available form either self- Generated funds ( Wharton sell on clause) and money from the owners?
  16. I think offers have been made to tidy the place up and those offers were declined. I know of a local glazier, who had to threaten the club, after carrying out some work and not being paid. A fan of the club too, so it goes to show, what a shoestring budget we have.
  17. I think most people can see the way this is heading, as they could under Coyle. The decision makers were warned by many fans that appointing Coyle, would end in disaster and despite the calls to terminate him, fairly early on, it was thought by some, that he should be given a chance and had he been axed, even 3 weeks sooner that what he was, then maybe, we would have stayed up. The same is happening all over again and we can be pretty sure that a poor end to this season and a poor start to next, will be ignored, until it is too late.
  18. That's exactly what I said on Twitter. If anything the state of the weeds, the ground and the wall, could have more impact than the banner, in terms of shaming the people who are supposed to be looking after their baby. For owners, who never refuse to sign a cheque, can it be requested that they send one to clean the filth at the ground up.
  19. The worry is, he might carry on learning and he will know an awful lot, about losing.
  20. As we know, there were rumours in here about the previous manager being unhappy and looking to move and that turned out to be true. Sad as it sounds, hopefully this is true too, as it can’t be brushed off that everything is good at the club, if it turns out to be true.
  21. Or he needs to be closer to the channel tunnel and a train ride home.
