  1. Just want to thank Mowbray (and Venkys for starting the process) for this awful milestone. Today was the first time I've been speaking to my Dad without either of us once mentioning Rovers. Didn't realise til I got home.
  2. So Morikawa nabbed it off Louis on the last day. To be fair he's gained the highway number of strokes on tour and the momentum lies his way too.
  3. I've loved it too, especially being hosted by a fellow OB in Nick Dougherty! Really happy that he's carved his niche in Sky Sports after struggling on the tour. It makes a difference having an ex player interviewing, and he's absolutely sound as a pound. Discovered the 'Open for the Ages' from last year on YouTube too, that's fun.
  4. In the midst of one of the worst losing streaks in club history (having promised play-off contention), Mowbray said that we fans 'need to understand that Shearer and Sutton aren't here any more'. That's something straight out of Steve Kean's Big Book of Steaming Turds.
  5. Well bugger me, I've no hope now!
  6. I prefer: Does Bear Grylls shit in the woods?
  7. Agreed, not keen myself. Plenty of better courses in England, then of course the true links courses in Scotland and NI are wonderful. Hovland is a tidy outsider, as is Min Woo Lee (who I favoured even before the Scottish Open win purely because of Rick Shiels) 🤣
  8. Open week? Who do you fancy to win? I always want Westy.
  9. The ticketless pricks at Wembley.
  10. Spot on. The Tiger Woods mentality: 'I'm going to try and win, what's the point of being in the tournament if I'm not trying to win?'
  11. Played 36 at Sunningdale yesterday in a work comp, and happened to be paired with an ex-pro who works at one of our shops essentially turning it into a teaching round too. Honestly, bucket list stuff. My handicap is 17, and the World system meant I played off 19 on both courses. New course first, hit 90! On a Championship course! Dream stuff, including a birdie and a couple of good pars, as well as an 8 after getting stuck in a pot bunker. Old course in the afternoon, immaculately cut and pins placed ready for the Senior Open Championship in 2 weeks. Shot 94! Again managed a birdie on a driveable par 4! Incredible experience. When are us lot going to get on a course??
  12. Anyone else getting a nasty feeling that 3 at the back may be returning?
  13. A bellows is like an old school manual pump to pressure air (into an air bed for example). Not sure it's a word that fits.
  14. I'd bet one of those is the same I've heard too.
  15. Have a look on FootballTown for versions of 'Red Rose'
  16. Absolutely appreciate all those risks, of course. I only view administration as a last resort (I certainly don't SEEK it), but don't feel it's all that doom and gloom from a rebuilding perspective. In fact, I think it's inevitable under these owners unless they take the Walker approach and get in a proper CEO and management. They would've been heroes if they'd only left Williams, Finn, Goodman and Big Sam in situ for a bit and upped the £5m to £10m.
  17. World, have it right!
  18. A £1 football club with no debt, but a ton of history behind it and a solid core fanbase for a L1 level at worst? Perfect business sense. Clubs with less than that are absolutely bouncing after administration. Not saying it's my preference btw, but don't pretend it'd kill a club like Rovers. As for who and where they are, we've had at least 3 bids for Rovers in the public domain since 2010. I know of one who's sitting back and waiting for the chance, and I'm sure there are others. Venkys' lack of willingness to sell is the only reason we haven't been sold, it certainly isn't for lack of money.
  19. We've had buyers waiting for at least 5 years.
  20. Why will it? Hasn't killed a while host of smaller clubs than Rovers. One even went on to win the PL after administration in L1.
