  1. WWE needs the McMahon of the mid-90s, and I believe that HHH could easily be that person. Trouble is the old McMahon won't let go.
  2. Ditto. I always will. Even Mrs. E will tell you that Tugay was my first love.
  3. Further to what I said to Miller, I've no problem with stacking talent if it can be used properly and is all quality. All Out 2021 felt like a real showcase with clear positions on the card, yet I cared about every match, and every wrestler was fantastic imo. Up there with some of the better WM cards imo.
  4. I feel as if Bryan and Cole being debuted in the same angle has perhaps sent AEW way over the top in my mind now. On top of Punk, it's a hell of a roster. @Miller11 I think the appeal of AEW is that the 'star players' will be rotated with other promotions, which (ideally) will mean the midcard will be used well without 'doing a WWE'. HOPEFULLY.
  5. 'Listening' to a YouTube channel/series called TheGreatWar which originally released an episode each week from 2014-2018 about the events that week exactly 100 years prior. Even now it's a fascinating in-depth history lesson in enjoyable bitesize chunks.
  6. No matter how hard I try, I've never been able to give my wife the same experience that AEW gave me last night.
  7. I'd be inclined to believe Maja failed a medical, hasn't he had injury issues recently? Or am I getting muddled with another player?
  8. PS4 is worth buying for RDR2 and the recent Spiderman games alone!
  9. I'm not convinced that's true tbh (well, I would say that wouldn't I?) I reckon you can have any opinion you like on this mb as long as it's not derogatory towards any group or made specifically to troll and target individuals? I'm happy to be given examples of where we can improve this, mind. Albeit in the appropriate thread.
  10. I suppose I'm pedantically counting the sackings and no other reasons for leaving. I do think the pattern is that when they get fed up of a longer term appointment, they generally don't sack them but just turn the taps off. Then I'm going to ruin my own point by saying they sacked Bowyer 😓
  11. Two managers in 2012-13 is their highest. Not sure that disproves the pattern. 3 managers sacked out of 9 in a decade is hardly trigger-happy is it? The rest resigned and the latest remains in situ.
  12. FWIW, I've heard of similar developments to Rev, albeit independently of Rev. As mentioned, it all sounds hopeful, and I'll remain hopeful, but the owners getting it right (to put it politely) will have been a LONG time coming.
  13. I honestly believe that this is what's happening, purely because I know that Indian culture and the Caste system would explain the bizarre fixation Venkys seem to have with honouring contracts to the letter.
  14. Another Peter Odemwingie situation?
  15. Do you want it merged with the 'Futbol etc' thread or the "Scottish football' thread?
  16. Or sick as a parrot when you lose.
  17. I agree with the suggestion on the transfer thread of not even bothering to register him til January. Let him stay out of the team and rehabilitate properly.
  18. You're right, I'm missing a bigger picture here as I was focusing on the playing side of it. It does make you wonder what is actually happening and possibly just how hamstrung Waggott might be. For example, I'm getting more and more wound but by the lack of effort on the commercial side (I know sponsors reaching out to Ewood and receiving no reply), but perhaps it's not for lack of trying but lack of authority?
  19. It doesn't have to ring true if it is true. Venkys don't scrimp on money unless the rules tell them to (FFP etc). The exceptions have been when they intend to replace a manager. Happened with Bowyer. Happened with Lambert (as you mention). I believe it's happening with Mowbray too. However, from as close to the horse's mouth as you can get, Venkys' haven't even been asked about contract extensions beyond those with 'trigger' options.
  20. Without giving much away: Venkys can't refuse something they haven't been asked to do. As for the players in the Kean years, do you not think that was much more because of agent meddling than any Venky plot to save money?
  21. What a lovely, warm preview @arbitro 🙂
  22. Nothing better than that organic natural pop.
  23. https://www.google.com/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2021/08/22/dimitri-payet-sparks-pitch-invasion-after-throwing-bottle-back-at-nice-fans-15133919/amp/ Must admit a bit of me thinks 'good on him' for throwing it back. Just a shame that the rules mean Nice were awarded the win after their fans kept acting like bellends all game.
