January Transfer window 2022

Josh Maja, formerly of Sunderland, currently Bordeaux I think. About 23/24, looks like a decent gamble to make albeit apparently has a back issue. -

Yes, because it's a stupid thing to not want a manager who (on a shoestring) got his club promoted (twice) and has since kept them up. He has a record that stands up with the likes of Allardyce for staying up. -

I'm sure there was something about Armstrong's sale contributing to THIS season's FFP (training ground sale to LAST season's FFP). If I understand correctly, that means that next summer we'll be able to spend the full £20m or whatever on transfers? -

If it's untrue, then our fanbase are idiots. -
Feeling far too nostalgic, but Hughes, Bowen, Niedzwiecki, Mimms, Fevre are all available...

Worst thing he could've done is join Utd, when Liverpool and Arsenal not only wanted him but actually needed centre backs! Fergie ruined him by continuing the Keanesque practice of shifting him here there and everywhere. -
Not the first time the club have failed Marketing 101, eh?

I'm going to be blindly optimistic and say any targets we acquire, while initially Mowbray targets) have been okayed by the next manager. I mean, it's not logical, but since when has that stopped Venkys doing anything. -
Ultimately my suspicion too, but makes it even more baffling that they don't seek the PL (or even just well-run-club) profits that would make it so much easier.

Maybe we can convince Villa to give us some money for him -

Cough Rovers Trust Cough 😉 -
The confidence boost from the Chilean dream has made his personality shine through on the pitch. And you can tell he's just enjoying his football more, probably motivated by the fact he can play for Chile rather than demoralised by the fact he was never going to be 'England material'. He's so likeable that I can't help but wish him every success wherever it is and I'll follow his career long after he leaves us.

I have the same issue and I'm the Secretary 😅 I think it's something to do with notification settings but I'm not enough of a Twatter to help in that regard!

If Waggott is there, please learn everything you can from Kenny about what Blackburn Rovers means to fans.

Premier League season 21/22

Yes, but at the point Busby stepped back from his Directorship in 1989 (heavily influenced by the death of wife in 1988), they had won nothing. Then came the FA Cup in 1990. That was 4 trophyless seasons with Fergie on the verge of the sack once or twice until Busby's shadow stopped lurking, then suddenly the wheels started turning. I'm certainly not suggesting Fergie needs to die before Utd can succeed properly (a bizarre idea), just to stop exerting influence over the club. -

Remember how Fergie got nowhere until Busby stopped overshadowing him? Same thing applies imo. -

Come home, Phil! -
Just think of how far down the English football pyramid actually goes. And not a single team wants Kean's help.

The problem they have is that the world's best managers are managing their rivals. -

The trouble is they won't just require a better manager; they're still deluded enough to require a 'worthy' manager. After Conte, there's not much left currently. Zidane (no desire to come to England apparently) or Allegri at a push? -
Fans opinions are irrelevant in Venky world though.

Send a private message either to the Rovers Trust account or to me (I'm on the board) and I'll get it looked at 🙂 Ditto for any other Member with the same issue. Although I'll excuse myself just a touch in that I've only been Member Officer/Secretary/Acting Secretary for around 5 years 🤣

I don't understand the rigid reliance on HSH, which is why I can't let go of my suspicions that something sinister continues. Why restrict yourself FROM finding the best candidate so much?
-
Definitely wishful thinking! However I genuinely do think that the combination of: Job Security Wealthy Owners Relative relaxed fanbase Gateway to English football Would all be attractive to much better candidates than Tony bloody Mowbray, and those suggestions I posted would most definitely be the absolute peak. Begs the question why only 2 (despite their successes) have been in the Premier League. Remember we all (well not me, I was born in 1991) thought Jack was mental when he approached Kenny Dalglish.

What I haven't noticed about Buckley before is how he wins the ball relatively easily quite high up the pitch!
