  1. Played 36 at Sunningdale yesterday in a work comp, and happened to be paired with an ex-pro who works at one of our shops essentially turning it into a teaching round too. Honestly, bucket list stuff. My handicap is 17, and the World system meant I played off 19 on both courses. New course first, hit 90! On a Championship course! Dream stuff, including a birdie and a couple of good pars, as well as an 8 after getting stuck in a pot bunker. Old course in the afternoon, immaculately cut and pins placed ready for the Senior Open Championship in 2 weeks. Shot 94! Again managed a birdie on a driveable par 4! Incredible experience. When are us lot going to get on a course??
  2. Anyone else getting a nasty feeling that 3 at the back may be returning?
  3. A bellows is like an old school manual pump to pressure air (into an air bed for example). Not sure it's a word that fits.
  4. I'd bet one of those is the same I've heard too.
  5. Have a look on FootballTown for versions of 'Red Rose'
  6. Absolutely appreciate all those risks, of course. I only view administration as a last resort (I certainly don't SEEK it), but don't feel it's all that doom and gloom from a rebuilding perspective. In fact, I think it's inevitable under these owners unless they take the Walker approach and get in a proper CEO and management. They would've been heroes if they'd only left Williams, Finn, Goodman and Big Sam in situ for a bit and upped the £5m to £10m.
  7. World, have it right!
  8. A £1 football club with no debt, but a ton of history behind it and a solid core fanbase for a L1 level at worst? Perfect business sense. Clubs with less than that are absolutely bouncing after administration. Not saying it's my preference btw, but don't pretend it'd kill a club like Rovers. As for who and where they are, we've had at least 3 bids for Rovers in the public domain since 2010. I know of one who's sitting back and waiting for the chance, and I'm sure there are others. Venkys' lack of willingness to sell is the only reason we haven't been sold, it certainly isn't for lack of money.
  9. We've had buyers waiting for at least 5 years.
  10. Why will it? Hasn't killed a while host of smaller clubs than Rovers. One even went on to win the PL after administration in L1.
  11. By contrast, a Bolton fan mate of mine received a leaflet, voicemail, text and email all on one day inviting him to become a STH. Bolton ffs.
  12. Recorded both purely by your recommendation :)
  13. Just look at Hughesy. Loaned Bentley initially from Arsenal.
  14. We've stopped going to Domino's as a direct result of that advert! We now get our pizza night pizzas from Checcos, GT Harwood.
  15. I think he's been going despite all of those reasons anyway. The manager's delusions are the final straw.
  16. Bennett? A legend? In the same bracket as Shearer? Tugay? Friedel? Hendry? Garner? Parkes? Douglas? Clayton? Crompton? Elliott fucking Bennett?
  17. Ahhh I misunderstood you :) agreed!
  18. Teams, maybe. But 3 worse managers?
  19. Not only can I see it, I guarantee that BBD under Bielsa is a different Beast entirely than under Mowbray. Goes for any player.
  20. Bless you darling but it's our opinion that matters and you signed up to our rules when you joined us. I've asked you to stop trolling, so I'll consider that 'a word had' and it'll be sin bin next time. Freedom of expression merely means you can't be arrested for expressing your opinion (assuming it doesn't incite hatred). We can ban as we see fit though. Great eh? And guess what? We've never banned anyone for their opinion (aside from hatred incitement), but we've banned plenty of trolls.
  21. Trolling is deliberately winding someone up. Calling someone an 'ex supporter' based on you having a controversial opinion is definitely trolling. You need it look back on the entirety of Venkys' ownership to know we haven't done things the way any other football club (let alone other business) does things, and almost always to our detriment.
