  1. A bit of a follow up, my dad has asked me (rather than me asking him) to go to the match tonight. Why? It’s a good price and he enjoyed the atmosphere at the Girona game. After telling him it probably wouldn’t be the same, as it’s a night match? You’ll love this @Mhead2 @Miller11 @oldjamfan1 and other WATR board members: ’Doesn’t matter, there was some effort put in last time and the price is good. If we support it when they do, maybe they’ll get the message.’ Yes, we’re going.
  2. They did though? 13 mins added ran to at least 15.
  3. Exactly, shows what we’ve become accustomed to with the ball being out of play!
  4. Nope Antonsson Brown Elliott wins that crown.
  5. Met him twice glen, as part of the Trust. He’s a very hard-working man imo, and does deserve a certain amount of credit particularly for culling the wage bill a few years ago from well over 200% of our income as a fallout from Lambert and Coyle’s time here. I also give him credit for specifically reaching out to the Trust, but rather than fan engagement, it has struck me as asking for help followed by a lot bafflement at how the fans feel towards the owners. Ie: no REAL engagement. However, I also believe that he just happens to be the wrong CEO for us. If he was on Broughton’s rumoured £150k, I’d be more empathetic. For double that, I want more drive to push forward, especially in the marketing and commercial departments. I came up with the original RT marketing prospectus in about 4hrs, with no marketing knowledge but plenty of Rovers knowledge. Begs the question wtf has been going on down there. I understand he meets his targets in the simplest way possible, but don’t seem to get much creative thinking.
  6. I think it is. Get the full 90 mins played.
  7. The People’s Champion by name and by nature.
  8. Markanday did well to seize on that
  9. The academy may well be what saves us face this year.
  10. Fuck me, that’s dreamland! Double the last Girona game?
  11. Let’s not forget this is a side that beat Real Madrid in April, they’re no mugs. That 16 looks handy!
  12. Convinced my dad and his best mate to come, plus my Wigan fan uncle. Hopefully we can nudge past 3,000, but 5k+ would be dreamland.
  13. Let me talk to ya. The momentum picked up by a guy who has spent a lacklustre 20 years busting a gut and trying and trying and trying again has made a relatable legend in-the-making. He’s simply (but very effectively and entertainingly) a throwback to the attitude era, combining aspects of each of the Mount Rushmore of WWE, and it’s astounded me that he is actually an incredibly humble guy off camera. He describes his character as himself at a party melded with himself in an argument, and turned up to 11. No wonder he feels so authentic. I’m back into wrestling because of this guy, and I’ve completely bought in to the megastar. Who’s game is it? Well everybody’s sayin’ L A Knight, YEAH!
  14. So in other words… What he means to say is… Well, frankly, I can’t put it any simpler!
  15. Probably would’ve hated defending against him.
  16. My dad will like him. Always said the hardest strikers to defend against have a massive arse.
  17. Still about 500 more than the last Girona game.
  18. I do appreciate it, but it’s a mess of their own making. Raising standards (I don’t even mean promotion) would ease the financial burden on them by bringing fans back to Ewood and therefore enticing higher sponsorships from outside the club. It’s not all that difficult really.
  19. Peter Shilton was often quoted: ’Brian Cloughie bought the first million pound player and for some reason later him on the right wing!’ Have say the price was irrelevant when his debut in the European Cup was for Forest, in the final, and scored the winning goal. A proper Roy of the Rovers.
  20. Dougie converted my dad from being a Rangers fan, age 11. Saw a Rovers v Preston game on the way down to Cheltenham to break the day up. Dougie remains his favourite ever player and was (age 76) giddy and awestruck like a child when meeting him at the Hall of Fame events before Covid.
  21. It happens to me occasionally (Twitter embedding in particular), but a quick page refresh usually does the trick.
