Spent today thinking about our incomings and I’m more distressed about it. Add up the incoming and outgoing fees and wages, and Wharton needn’t have been sold for any of the other business to happen. I think GB/JDT were told they’d need to sell significantly to raise funds (and contribute to the club finances), did so, and were then told ‘actually, no’. Just my hunch, based on the maths of fees/wages. I’ll reiterate, every other piece of business in and out could have been done without selling Wharton.

Usually the ‘option’ in loan-with-option includes first refusal, hence the elevated fee.

I don’t think it’s ‘embarrassing’ to react with disdain after our form since just before Christmas, then going 1-0 down to a L1 team. I do think it’s embarrassing to judge those who did, though.

People do care, but he’s also signed Szmodics, Tronstad, Hyam, Brittain (and imo O’Riordan is a class signing). Plus he’s largely tying players down to contracts that get us fees now. Swings and roundabouts.

Bron Breakker took Lesnar’s exact role allegedly. Which is actually disappointing as he should be an entrant to oppose Lesnar imo. Definitely needed some more legend sprinkling in there. I feel likes of X-PAC, Scotty2Hotty, would put on a decent show with a decent pop. Maybe even fully retired types like Kane/Kurt Angle could do it? I think the main ‘boredom’ factor is that you can’t pop to any wrestling music anymore. It’s all very generic. Where are the catchphrases, the glass smashes, the Jim Johnston stuff?
