  1. I think that's what other clubs are trying to arrange (Udinese, I think?), so bidding for him outright may be how we get our man.
  2. Make no mistake, while not a priority, I would absolutely take Porteous for a fee of less than £1m. That would be a genuinely amazing signing imo. Perhaps some intent on returning to 3 cbs? Or prep for Ayala leaving maybe?
  3. Someone like Mees Hoedemakers in midfield would be perfect.
  4. Not quite. They came back asking if we were still interested at the original price (I believe £2.5m) and we talked them down.
  5. On loan? Surely a transfer swap would suit all parties?
  6. The only midfielder we need is an enforcer, whether that needs purchasing, or Travis learns to kick his granny instead of shirt tugging.
  7. Seems Kilkenny has been hampered by injuries, including an MCL tear in October. Don't know what to think about this, as he was a real emerging talent for Bournemouth last season and season before.
  8. From Pete O'Rourke as well, he's reliable https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-blackburn-rovers-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-bournemouth-star-gavin-kilkenny/
  9. I wonder the same. The highest I can get to is £4.5m, and that only by rounding up. The figure I arrive at without rounding anything up is £3.9m
  10. Pissing on our fire is a negative, personally I'm glad he's put this one out!
  11. Chernobyl reference I guess?
  12. I disagree, I think he'd be a great replacement for Ayala when he eventually leaves. Gives us plenty of options at the back without putting undue pressure on Phillips' development. Although I do agree the a midfield enforcer amd a striker should be higher priority than another centre back.
  13. True, but my argument stems from the Olympics. All gold medals are equal, with all disciplines being separate, so why can we not class World Cups as equal? Particularly in the last year, I don't view it (just my view) as the women's England team winning the Euros, it is England won the Euros.
  14. I suppose I should adjust slightly, as I've now fully grasped the actual argument 😅 Record goalscorer - Really should be separate, as per examples given. World Cup Wins - Probably equal imo, just as Gold Medals count equal. Is that a bit more fair? 'Player of the Match', however, is a hill I'm prepared to die on, nothing wrong with it.
  15. 'This shit' seems to be what an overwhelming majority of players want when you talk to them, or hear interviews. Think it's just the times moving forward. Never understood the strange obsession people have with what sportspeople have in their pants. It's never mattered when looking back at Olympic and Paralympic records, yet suddenly people think it matters in individual sports. It's weird to me. Same with these people objecting to the award named 'Player of the Match'. They froth at the mouth, demanding the need to know the sex of the player being credited. 'IT SHOULD BE MAN OF THE MATCH, I NEED CONFIRMATION THEY HAVE A KNOB AND BALLS!'
  16. I can see what you mean. I wouldn't say it bothers me, but I do understand it from others' POV 🙂
  17. Loads of men sound forced as well tbf. Jonathan Pierce springs to mind.
  18. How the hell can ANY Rover consider Leicester or Southampton 'giants'? The mind boggles. The only giants compared to Rovers are the potential European Super League clubs, all of we regularly have given a bruising this century.
  19. It stank then and still does.
  20. I thought that too but the pic looks suspiciously like a goodbye. Could go either way.
  21. My mum missed my graduation because she was trying to film it. Lesson learned.
  22. Women enjoy men's footy too, nothing wrong with them being pundits. I often find them more bearable than the men!
  23. Hey, I'm happy, and it's free 😉
