  1. Come on Chaddy. Of course he's at fault to some degree. Its not a howler like last week, but when the cross is deflected and he decides to come out of his goal space to go for it he simply has to get it. Otherwise just go near post and cover the goal. t's a bad decision.
  2. That's a bit harsh. When you watch it his first touch to get it on his right foot and in space to get a shot away is sublime. Not felt a goal celebrated like that at Ewood for a while.
  3. Anyone want to sugarcoat doubling the under 11s prices for the kid-friendly firework display? I suppose back in July those parents should have guessed they might have a firework display and start saving. Is there any reason as to why under 11 prices cannot be held regardless of category?
  4. A point which many of us have to keep pointing out on here because it's just become an accepted rumour that Wednesday charged us £40+ last year. Mr Waggot has gambled you would be top 6 and bring 4000+ and he can squeeze every last coin out of you that he can. He's also doubling the price of under 11 tickets tomorrow in case any little kiddies are wanting to watch the firework display behind the riverside after the match. I'm hoping the ghost of Christmas past and co. visit him this year.
  5. So it's useless for me. Now if I could join the 1875 club or buy my season ticket and redeem that club cash off a cup ticket at a future date, it is a carrot for me to join and also puts an extra bums on seat for a future game with a probable low attendance. Now there may be an issue as away clubs get half the revenue, so why not club cash has 50% value against tickets. Or club cash redeemable on food and drink in blues bar. Its a useless incentive to me unless I unexpectedly wanted a Roar pencil or a packet of blue and white bonbons.
  6. Can you use your "Club Cash" to buy tickets? If not, why not?
  7. Bit unnecessary.. If i posted "I dont understand" every time you showed favouritism i would be on 20k posts by now. For what its worth, i agree with him.
  8. There is a firework display on after the game on Saturday. My mate has just said he might move his seat and take his two kids with him (aged 6 and 8). £11 each for under 11 in the BBE. It's £5 against Barnsley. That's over double the price for under 11's to come and watch a firework display. Now if I remember rightly there were quite a lot of people stopped behind for the fireworks last time they did this. There were also probably parents who attended to bring the kids because of the fireworks. It should be free for kids with a paying adult for something like this, not doubling the price.
  9. Last year. That's over 3000, closer to 4000. Looks like over 3000 in 2015 as well.
  10. First home cup game of the season should be free to season tickets regardless. It used to be back in the early 90's. Yes there is a chance it would be Man U, Liverpool or Burnley. But in reality it will be Colchester or Mansfield.
  11. True, but I'd take a Blake up front at the moment.
  12. I get the point your making if you believe that Mols is closer to the first team than Chapman. However I don't think that's the case. Therefore Chapman needs game time for if he gets that first team chance. Giving Graham a run out makes sense so he's sharp when we inevitably end up relying on him again. Smallwood is odd one because, bar another 6 first team injuries, I can't see him pushing for a first team start again. In that situation I agree it would be more beneficial to play one of the youth team. Out of interest, what are you going to do with Brereton when he returns. Let him rot not playing any football as well?
  13. Go re-read the match thread. Many people commented on he helped changed the game and many people wanted him picked him in their starting line up for the following game.
  14. I've only dipped in and out of this thread as I don't watch or know much about the young lads. However that's simply not true. Against Oldhan, Rovers were crap untill Rothwell, Dack and Chapman came on and all three played well to change the game, including Chapman. To suggest he was crap is ridiculous. He ran his full back immediately on the right wing and I remember him playing a peach of a ball in to the near post which we should have scored from latter. Sure, he didn't beat 5 men and then stick one on a plate but crap? Incidentally, that was my first proper view of Buckley and he looked small and lost in that game. However he has been seen 6 times since for the first team whilst Chapman hasn't even seen the bench.
  15. I've seen this comparison with Villa a few times since Saturday. Villa also changed manager in October just before they went on that run last season !!!
  16. I was gutted leaving Deepdale on Saturday but, as I only go to 1 or 2 away games a season, at least I don't have to put up with that kind of spineless stuff on a more regular basis. However I feel sorry for those that do. Since we returned to the Championship we have:- Led at Ipswich on the opening day only to concede in the last minute. Led at Bristol City only to put in a second half no-show and lose 4-1 Been 3-0 up at Stoke and tried to throw that away. 1-0 up at Swansea and put in a second half no-show to lose 3-1 A shocker at Preston away last year. A further shocker at Wigan 4 days later. Been 1-0 up against Middlesboro who had 10 men and still didn't win. The farce at Leeds where we took the lead in injury time only to lose 3-2 2-0 up at Brentford only to lose 5-2 Dominate the game at Reading. Manage to get an equaliser with 8 minutes left and then conceded immediately. Get our noses in front at St Andrews with 7 minutes left and then concede immediately. 1-0 up in the first minute at West Brom only to be 3-1 down before half time. 2-0 up at Preston only for a second half no-show and to lose 3-2. Sorry but it's not normal for a football club for that to all happen in away games in less than 15 months. I've not mentioned the Borunemeouth away game in the league cup or the Birmingham home game which saw similar outcomes. Spineless.
  17. I wonder how many of this lot were on a day out with their mates and will now think "Do you know what, I enjoyed that, I might pay £40 this Saturday and go to Ewood?
  18. Underwhelmed, like I felt when they appointed Mowbray. But once you believe we are going backwards and in danger of going down then it's better rolling the dice.
  19. Its a rot that started at Preston away last Novmber and has been ongoing for 11 months. We are almost on relegation form over the past 30 odd games despite the fact we won four on the bounce at the end of last year. Managers dont get a clean slate every summer. There are loads of managers out there that would come. Not sacking him because we "dont know who we would get" was used by people justifying Coyle stopping longer than he should, and that ultimately relegated us.
  20. His shot stopping isnt great. The Hudderfield equaliser springs to mind.. For all Raya's supposed faults, he did pull off the odd worldie of a save now and again. Im struggling to recall any saves that Walton has made that I thought were outstanding. As ive said before, the good keepers save the ones that had they have no right to save. Its easy in hindsight but moving out Raya and Mulgrew and not replacing adequately has been a disaster.
  21. But what if that plumber isn't suitably qualified to work on that type of tap, because it's more complicated than what he is used to working on. (Walton). Or what if you get a electrician to do a plumbers job (Bennett) ? Wigan fans told us that Walton was a good shot stopper but dodgy on crosses. It's not unexpected. The problem is he isn't as good a shot stopper as Raya.
  22. When is the next supporters consulation thingy. The tactic of wheeling Mowbray out to appease the fans might not work at the next one.
  23. The players are only responsible if the errors or performance are worse than normal. Or if they are not trying. If Mowbray decided to play Smallwood in goal yesterday, and Smallwood made errors, it's not Smallwoods fault because he simply isnt good enough. For all we know, Walton is playing to the top of his ability, but that level of ability includes mistakes which costs goals. That's as good as he is. He will do that throughout his career and if you play him in your side then that's the risk you are taking. Bennett has now been at fault for 3 goals in 7 days. If you play him next week at full back and he is at fault again you have to say it's not him 'dropping a clanger'. It's just that he is defensively not good enough.
  24. The problem with shipping Mulgrew out is we are no better defensively, and now do bugger all with corners and free kicks. Whilst some people said they were happy he had gone, it was only a good move if we got adequate replacements in and stopped shipping 2 or more goals every game. We havent. It's another move by Mowbray which has failed.
