  1. It must have when we made it 3-3. I quickly flicked channels over as soon as one of our goals went in and the Sunderland players were all celebrating. It must have been as they made it 2-0.
  2. I'm leaning towards Rev on this one. The only goal I really celebrated from my settee was the Wharton equaliser as we were still in it. By the time JRC scored Sunderland had just gone 2-0 up. Had I been at The Den I would have been more emotionally invested and probably would have still wanted the victory despite the fact it was clearly going to achieve bugger all. As it was, I watched it unfold almost like a pre-season friendly where you are seeing who is playing well to pus hon for the following season. Of course I was glad they won, and took some pleasure in watching the 'raucous lion-pit' of The Den fall quiet, but the final feeling was still flat, albeit with some excitement that I do feel we are only a few signings away from a very good young side. As for @arbitro saying it dispels that we are a team of bottlers, I'm not sure it does. I'm sure the players knew the other result was conspiring against them. Had we known it was 3-0 to Preston, and then done that second half comeback, it would have been a different story. Millwall, on the other hand, for some reason decided to keep attacking us at 3-2. All season we have looked a far more dangerous team on the break than when we have had to break team down. If they had sat back they would probably have soaked us up and yet, despite leading, they kept pressing forward leaving space for us to run into. They most certainly did bottle this, starting with the way they approached that second half.
  3. Well Ben, You had a golden 6 months and probably got a Skybet odds compiler sacked. Adios.
  4. I see on twitter that at least one Rovers coach had their windows put through leaving the ground.
  5. They were excellent going forward, and Pickford had one of those games he can do now and again where he spectacularly blocks everything.
  6. I wasn’t being negative. I just knew with the players we had available and the formation we kept playing that we wouldn’t get enough wins in the last few games to get us over the line. I said that after the Birmingham game. That’s not negative thoughts. That’s being able to asses the situation and come to a rational opinion on what I think will happen without being blinded by emotion or desire. Now I didn’t foresee the bad luck we would have, but nor did I foresee the other teams slipping meaning a record low of 69 points would be enough. However the accusations of me being negative were unfounded because missing out on the top 6 is what actually happened.
  7. He hadn’t cleverly built his reputation on sexy possession based football though.
  8. And you don’t think anybody else will be interested in them? Im actually agreeing that they would be good signings. That’s why I don’t think we will get them. BtW, you know all them people you said were just being negative regarding us finishing outside the top 6. They were all right. You just couldn’t tell the difference between negativity and realism.
  9. Way too early to comment. I’ll see what the summer brings as to whether I’m feeling positive or apprehensive. Hopefully GB and the others can make up for shafting us in Jan and recruit well.
  10. Graham Potter (finished 10th at Swansea) Luton we’re only 9th when Nathan Jones left for Southampton this season.
  11. Carvalhal was in the bottom half when he went to Swansea.
  12. Fat Frank finished 6th and got the Chelsea gig !!! Dean Smith finished 9th and got the Villa job.
  13. Yes. I reckon if we were in for them other decent Championship teams would be as well as they are higher profile then who we usually go for. One is now a Scotland regular, and the other who was quite highly touted as a youngster has just had his best scoring season. Who do you think we have signed in the last few years who have been higher profile than these two?
  14. But is that squad capable of getting more points from the last 11 games than we ultimately did. I’d say yes. People are clearly reacting to the situation we found ourselves. Agree with your last sentence. With a bit of not-unrealistic ambition I’d be excited to see if we could dominate the ball but carry a genuine goal threat. Then we’d be dangerous. But, as I’ve just said to Chaddy, I think us getting targets such as Nisbett and Maja where there is genuine competition for their signature is unlikely.
  15. Id be delighted if we brought either of those in. I find it very unlikely as they are far higher-profile than any signing we have managed for a while.
  16. It shows how even a league this has been when had Reading not had the points deduction, Cardiff would have gone down on 49 points. That’s pretty high. Not quite the 51 we went down with but surely the highest it has been since.
  17. Yeah to be fair I have paraphrased it a bit. I’d still rather he sold the dream than say how to be in with a chance on the last day is a great achievement. It might have been from when he walked in the door, but from where we found ourselves at the end of Feb it comes across as absolving blame. Of course that blame is predominantly elsewhere, with JDT only having to shoulder a small portion of it, but IMO it is said to mask what a calamity the last 10 results have proven to be.
  18. Seems like it. When he talks about how great an achievement it is for little Rovers to still be in contention on the last day, he’s not talking to the supporters and I certainly hope he’s not talking to players. He’s building up how good a job he has done to outsiders IMO.
  19. Well we have beaten Sunderland and drawn with Boro on aggregate this season. And also turned in some of our best performances in one off knockout matches. So had we got in you really don’t know. Whats also annoying is the points dropped to shite like Wigan, Reading, Birmingham, And Rotherham..
  20. It’s taken less than 70 points to get in the play offs this year. That’s rare. This has been one of the most even championships we’ve seen for a while.
  21. Everton winning. Not a great day.
  22. Rovers equalising in injury time away at Cardiff, only for the ref to disallow it to give us a penalty and Hirst missing.
  23. Also, Coventry finishes 1 point above of us having gained a three point swing because of that handball. 🤮
  24. When you watch that second half, you start to wish maybe we had pushed JRC further forward as soon as Brittain was available again. Our goal threat massively increases when he’s in the final third. He’s far more effective than Thomas or Hedges have been.
  25. I think Luton will get past Sunderland
