We are going down (the pessimism thread)

Is JDT to blame for the situation? Not really. It's Venkys, Waggot and Broughton before him. However we are conceding at an alarming rate because we are wide open committing too many men forward. That is on the manager. Against Hull with 10 men we showed we can sit back and defend but use the players we have to hit on the break. Same at Watford. It might not have opposition managers purring, but it may grind out more points.

If you pause it, he looks like he does - just. The big issue I have is I believe the linesman didn’t flag. If he thinks it’s an offence he should put his flag up. That adds weight to him not being sure. -

The highlights are up on Sky. As someone said, the frustration is the goal was given and then chalked off. However it’s hard to say that the keeper doesn’t have both hands on it. http://www.skysports.com/share/12976594 -

Our assets just walk out of the door for nothing. Maybe sack the person who has overseen that happen over the last few years. -

That’s mad. If we are a couple up he should be sat relaxed with his feet up. He could do most of your points without actually being named as a substitute. It’s just a waste of a space on the bench if you aren’t going to toss him on for 5 mins when behind. -

Under what circumstance do you reckon he would have put Ennis on? In which case, why isn’t someone like Gilsenan on the bench? -

I agree on that one. I thought he did well in what he had to. Not sure why he would have looked dodgy to anyone. -

No one expects that. It’s just losing 5 out of the last 6 is starting to become incredibly frustrating. And we don’t concede 16 goals in those 6 games because of a lack of fit strikers. We do it because we are badly set up. -

From that it looks like the keeper may have it in both hands, but it’s difficult to tell. -

No. I expect us to not lose 5 out of 6 including 4 on the bounce. As an isolated result and performance it’s not that bad, but the bigger picture is that we suddenly look a soft team who don’t look like winning. To dismiss it as “oh it’s Coventry, what do you expect” ( who remember have only been in the league one year) is more head in the sand than expecting us to grind more than 3 points out of 6 games. -

Yep Coventry are amazing. What else can we expect. It’s just an absolute fluke that Huddersfield, Cardiff, Hull, Watford, Sunderland, Swansea and, err, A.F.C. Wimbledon have all managed to avoid losing to them this season. -

Our Greg Fraudton will tell the new manager he has to start him cos it’s making him look bad. -

It’s a forum revolving on opinions. Otherwise just shut the thread completely. Some people think the line up is odd. Some don’t. But if you don’t say what you think when it’s announced what’s the point of this board? -
The armed forces used to be able to get free tickets for Ewood, as did some parts of the NHS in the area. Not sure if that's still the case.
-
They did, but Luton then equalised and threw it away in 60 seconds so it’s a bit of a moot point in the end

This current, ongoing Man United implosion under Ten Hag, who they all thought was some kind of messiah when he went there, is wonderful viewing.

You need only a few of the turnstiles open near the JW/BBE corner open. Everyone enters from there. Therefore you dont need the lads and lasses behind the other set of turnstiles. You only need half the catering outlets open. The line "the staffing of that area remains the same whether the stand is at capacity or accommodating fewer than 500 supporters. " simply won't be true. It may well be you still need a significant percentage, but it doesn't need to remain the same. Therefore he's lying again. He's arrogant and smug so won't admit he's made a mistake here, but I just hope deep down he acknowledges he's knocked 1000+ off the gate.

Absolute bollocks. You simply wouldn't expect a lower home attendance against a Championship club in round 3 than you got against a league two club in the first round, especially on the back of an almost record victory in round 2. They surely anticipated an attendance similar or slightly above what we got against Walsall, but to say as much now shows how absolutely stupid the decision was. The fact that they started reducing their apparent 'anticipated attendance' the closer it got to the game tells us all we need to know. Again, if they just come out and said "We thought it made financial sense but we were wrong. It was a one-off and won't happen again" you'd just file it and move on. But he is just bullshitting on expected numbers to try and justify the decision.

Anyone have any idea of when Ennis / Leonard are expected back? I know Gally is at least November and Hedges next year. -
Summer Window - Rating /10
Hasta replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I didn't put a rating on this at the time as I simply didn't know. But it's looking pretty grim. Probably about 3 or 4. Siggurdson appears good but is the direct replacement for Brereton and his goals. Moran also looks like he should be an upgrade on some previous loanees. However we were warned about Ennis injury record, and to be honest we have yet to see him at all. He could be amazing, but if he only is available for less than half the games then it's a poor bit of recruitment. Our final pieces of the jigsaw seem to be unable to get into the side despite us having deficiencies in all areas - keeper, defence, defensive midfield and up front. JDT has seen all of them up close in training and their fleeting appearances and seems to rate Wahlsted, Tronstad and Telalovic as bench-warmers only. That is therefore a major fail by the recruitment team, who to be fair were completely shafted by the budget shifts. -

We got what we ultimately deserved for our defending, but wish the ref had been eagle-eyed on shitty shirt-pulls all game First goal.
