  1. Just checked and he did come on at Norwich the week before too. 2 sub appearances last season, 6 sub appearances all this season (4 in the Championship then one in both cups).
  2. Probably be similar to the end of last season then when Buckley and Butterworth got about 20 mins against a club now in League 2 whose players weren't even being paid at the time. Chapman got similar against Swansea on the last day I think.
  3. Holtby is perfectly neat and tidy and has a decent football brain, but it doesn't look like he's ever going to be a difference maker at this level, which is perhaps what we were hoping for. It doesn't help mind when he's asked to play positions he's never played before.
  4. Indeed. Jordan Rhodes would have anticipated - and scored from - that Rothwell pass with his eyes closed.
  5. Gallagher had no idea Rothwell was going to play that pass, he should have made a run as soon as Rothwell got it to his feet. Like Samuel not anticipating Graham's flick on in the first half, there's no natural striker's instinct there.
  6. When he's running with the ball he looks so clueless and oblivious to where he actually is and who's around him.
  7. We've been minging. What's that 8 games in a row we've conceded the first goal in the game?
  8. Big fan of Nyambe but he does look a bit uncomfortable when he gets in a position to cross. You can tell it's not something he's used to doing, and he doesn't appear to have great technique when he does cross. However whenever he has Samuel or Gallagher in front of him, not natural wingers so they've a tendency to drift inside to where they're more comfortable, I've noticed that Nyambe often has to do the whole right flank himself. You often see him with a huge gap in front of him down the right. Generating a threat in the final third in those circumstances would be a big ask for any full back, even for those that are comfortable taking players on and crossing - never mind somebody who's traditionally been a more defensive minded full back like Nyambe.
  9. Gutted, Davenport or Holtby scoring their chances would have been massive.
  10. We signed Craig Bellamy 15 (!) years ago today. https://www.facebook.com/premierleague/videos/629576727914948/
  11. You’d have Karl Robinson or Richie Wellens over Mick McCarthy or Chris Hughton.......?
  12. Check out - http://www.footydvd.co.uk/ If you go on ‘videos’ then ‘all clubs’ and find Rovers, you’ll see season reviews from the 90s and our promotion season in 00/01 in DVD format. The 94/95 season review on DVD is a must have! If you go on ‘matches’ and find Rovers too there are full 90 minute matches you can buy. We don’t have loads in comparison to other clubs but still a good few from happier times. It’s really cheap too. You’ll just have to check he (it’s just one guy running it I think) delivers outside the UK but I’d imagine so.
  13. Don’t forget those glorious two weeks, I think it was, about late November in the 2014/15 season when we occupied 6th.
  14. How on earth did he not keep that out. Dreadful.
  15. Just started working. Brereton still loves a tumble!
  16. Crikey! Liverpool's defence will be having a field day. (Don't want to lump Graham in with the other two but he is on the wane and will probably be rustier than ever)
  17. In Sharpe’s LT article about Holtby being back he said ‘Rovers travel to Merseyside’ - don’t know if that means Anfield or somewhere else.
  18. Rovers beating Barcelona and Xavi and Puyol gracing the Ewood turf. This is a must see.
  19. Seasons mixed up maybe? We signed Warnock, Dunn and Samba in Jan 07. Santa Cruz a few months later. And that was the season McCarthy scored 24 so I don’t think this head had gone - after this season, yeah, think he’s even admitted himself his head was turned by being linked to Chelsea etc.
  20. Indeed, have watched the first two episodes of that. Grim stuff.
  21. Went on a San Siro stadium tour on a school trip back in the day. Well worth a visit. It's probably quite ageing by now, a lot of Italian stadiums are like that (San Paolo in Naples is said to be in a shocking state), but yeah I'd rather that with all its history - provided it's not unsafe - than a soulless bowl any day of the week.
  22. Excellent read from Colin Hendry in FourFourTwo - https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/blackburn-rovers-premier-league-title-win-colin-hendry-interview-liverpool-man-utd
