This is true are 1st halves have been pathetic this season. Lets hope what Steven Reid says holds true about our fitness getting us back into games. Why oh why is Shefki not getting more time? He unsettles defenders. -

Dude I've been all for Zura coming back in etc...but Todd did not let us down on Saturday. He genuinely didnt know where the ball was and couldnt pull his arm away quick enough. Yes Beattie would have been through but Todd should not have been sent off. -

I thought Bentley was up top today? I know he links with the midfield, but weren't we still effectively playing 4-4-2? -

If it was one of the big clubs then he would be sacked. Only time weve got a ref demoted is when hedidnt send off one of our players! lol -
Despite Hughes' growing reputation i dont think he'l plunge for another Rovers manager after Soueys efforts. By the way though, not that Im intentionally trying to defend a man whose spent that much there, but only about 2 out of the previous 4 or 5 managers have a better winning % than him. Still a team managed correctly with Emre, Parker, Bowyer, Dyer, Luque, Shearer, Owen and Solano should be top 5.

Utd and the gooners wouldnt field a reserve side in the quarters. Roon, Rio etc were playing tonight. As you say though at home I fancy us against anyone. -

Lets just hope we get a goal soon. This will be our third game in a row without a goal. And with the huge game on sat, we need to find the net this game, because when we go on a rut in front of goal, we go through a grade a rut at that. -

Shearer, similar to Bergkamp play quite dirty football some times, but because of their status they get away with it. Another fine example being Essien's horror lunge where he diodnt even get brought up about it. If that had been Savage he would've had a 5 game ban at least. As for Savage yeah he winds people up etc, but hes good at it. It winds the opposition's fans up and the opposition's players. As someone else has said, Rovers form has picked up dramatically since he came...and Brums has gone down. -

0-0 away to Citeh isn't a bad result even if either side couldn't muster one shot on target for the whole game...which is pretty pathetic. Then again it shows how defensively stable both sides are. Just a quick quaestion, will Todd the captain yesterday be dropped next weekend when Lucas is back? Surely Zura and Nelsen are our first two now? Just seen the topicm on the messageboard! -

True Eddie, and for those who were doubting Bellers' commitment, he looked like he was really enjoying his footie today and commented after the game how we were aiming for Europe. -

Wow, what a performance and result. To score four goals and to play like we did is credit to what Hughsey has achieved at the club. I've slated Tugay aswell before, but I remember many saying "thanks for what youve done, but it's time to leave" etc etc. The guys a legend and deserves another years contract. Onwards and upwards! -

Mourinho is an utter d******d. I really hated the guy before but now I cannot bare to listen to the drivvle that comes out of his arrogant gob. Yes hes a great manager already, but even arsene "didnt see it" Wenger and Alex "added on time" ferguson arent nearly this annoying. We gave you a good game at your own turf, and made you work bleddy hard for your 3 points, so please respectr that. You cant win with this guy, if you come and defend he accuses you of parking the bus in front of the goal and if you give it a go and score he claims that they had to score for you. Jose mate your sqaud cost over £200 million and you still cant give credit to a team who made you sweat. Utter pillock. As for bellers it was only a week or so ago that he was interviewed and he said that there was still much more to come from this team yet. -
I too have noticed the slide in Freidels form over the past season or to. For me it appears to be his positioning for the goals which should give major cause for concern. The Cisse goal is a classic example of this. And I'd bet my bottom dollar that the Friedel of old wouldn't have parried that shot into the path of Gudjohnson yesterday when he should have made it 5.

Good result by the boys and its great to see us climbing steadily. Awful first half, but it was followed by an alright second as we turned chances into goals, doubled with a dubious penalty. But luck does even itself out (Zurabs red card). Also, to the person who asked about Heskey, I don't think the challenge was that bad and he definitely shouldnt have been sent off. On his second challenge against MGP when I thought heskey would walk he actually executed a superb tackle. Roll on Chelski now!..... -
Havnt had the net for over a week now, so its the first chance I've had to say: WHAT A RESULT!!!!

Good to see we look as if weve gone with 4-4-2. Strange news about Gray, also looks as if Jansen's done another grand dissapearing act...I was hoping he'd start tonight. -

LD Rover your spot on mate. When was the last proper chance we had where you'd expect the striker to easily convert? Our ability to create one on one's with the keeper are fairly pathetic- the best chance weve had in this goaless streak was when Kuqi slided in and dinked it wide. -

Probably true John mate, but surely he could've got instructions onto the pitch? If he wanted Bentley to have goit nearer to Bellers for example then he could have. -

Wouldn't be 100% confident that we will play 4-4-2 guys: posted this in another thread but Hughes was on sky saying something along the lines of "it's not all about the formation to me, its about the players going out and knowing what they have to do". Cant remember the exact quote, but he obviously knows he's been getting stick off the fans and has defended it and denied that we amongst other clubs dont go out to win every match. -

Anybody been watching sky sports news? Their main headline is "Hughes and Pearce defend boring football" basically the pair of them saying that they go out EVERY game to win and Pearce stated that Citeh must win all their home games. Hughes also said somethign along the lines of "I don't think its down to what formation you play, more the players you have and whether they know whats expected of them". You couldn't get two more contrasting managers at present really could you! Citeh have played free flowing football and scored goals where as we couldnt hit a barn door and have played average at best.
