  1. One thing is for sure, this thread is gonna be on fire come 5pm on Saturday 13th September.
  2. Sure it’s part and parcel of being a footballer that your mates move on, you move on. But to this extent in one window? He’s a model pro but naturally he’ll solely now have eyes on his next move. And Cantwell aside, that’s our most important player we are talking about. We’re beyond fucked.
  3. This is why I am surprised it seems all focus is now on Gestede. When he eventually gets pushed aside, two constants remain: Venkys AND Suhail.
  4. This is quite hard to keep up with… I thought Pasha was the single biggest problem? Rudy no doubt a tw*t who shouldn’t be at our club but it was Suhail pulling all the strings, the one who needs removing asap?
  5. Funny how there’s no broken fax machine ala Maguire / O’Brien when we’re the selling club. Gotta give Venky’s credit, they’ve been consistent with that.
  6. Many do deserve it, unfortunately. Outside of this sanctuary our fanbase seems to be filled with lemmings who just swallow the bullshit the club puts out. It’s sickening. It feels like you’re repeatedly banging your head against a brick wall.
  7. Apparently he’s decent at league one level. If we get that buy option locked in then it’ll show shrewd planning in advance by Pasha and Rudy.
  8. Not from within the current playing staff, or from foreign rubbish overseas, he isn't.
  9. What could we do, end of his contract soon. Miller is better. Spend money in January. Get behind the lads.
  10. Pasha and Gestede: "Job done overlords"
  11. As someone else pointed out the other day, Gestede highlighted/lauded Miller as a "centre back" in one of his self-absorbed LinkedIn posts. So it's all adding up.
  12. Unless the clubs loaning out take a hefty hit on wage contribution then the likes of those guys won't be coming here. Expect untested PL kids or unknowns from abroad (at best).
  13. Lunacy, sheer lunacy. They're probably trying to see if there's any last minute bites for Tronstad too. Championship experience? Why do we want that when we can bring in some more untested kids from overseas for half the wages.
  14. I am far, far from Hyam's biggest fan but to sell him now would be utter madness and would be pretty much proof for me that our owners/"advisor" are keen to send us down this season.
  15. Yep. And that the ambition of this football club is zero.
  16. From Jackson: "Right, bit of an update on what we might expect today. Not expecting it to be overly busy but there's still the possibility of an incoming. That would most likely be a forward of some description. Outgoings, Harry Leonard deal is done as previous reported, will be confirmed at some stage today. Could see a couple of younger loans too. Nothing on the table for Aynsley Pears at the time of writing which means he could stay."- --------- An injury to Tronstad and we are a shoe in for relegation, IMO.
  17. Whoever he goes to he needs to ensure the pathway to the first 11 is there. At Liverpool he’ll do well to knock out Mac Allister or Gravenberch. Really hope the injury isn’t as bad as feared - such bad timing for the lad, he would have no doubt got his first competitive outing for England this time out.
  18. 100% agreed. Tronstad will be having to do the job of two men over the coming weeks unless an experienced Championship reinforcement comes in. As a result he is guaranteed to break down. A decent CM with pedigree of this league is surely a must but the penny pinchers won't see it like that.
  19. Indeed. This Baradji lad better be good and have the ability get fit. That being said, CM is the one area where a lack of Championship pedigree will bite us on the arse big time. IMO.
  20. Who cares who we sign. It’ll be more foreign players untested in this league, on much less wages than we’ve been paying seasoned pros from this league. This latest journey is gonna fall flat on its arse.
  21. I mean, if the lad is a tenth of the player that Eidur was, then we'd be in for a treat.
  22. This is why I'll never get carried away under this lot. Even if Ismael pulls off a minor miracle with our new cohort and we're in and around the top six come the new year, it means nothing. We will never get promoted under Venky's - they and Pasha will see to that. Just as they have done on multiple occasions already.
  23. I felt like his one real chance of cracking it with us was in the near miss of the play-offs under JDT when he was becoming a regular and playing really well. He then got injured and just never seemed to get back in on a regular basis from the following season. Good luck to the lad. As an aside I’m sure his bank manager will be delighted!
  24. Not according to this chap (Tweet as of yesterday). Think Nixon is pulling that figure out of thin air. More our price range:
