  1. It's made even more laughable when they can't even show the goals on Skysports. They are only allowed to talk about it, then talk some more....then continue talking. As for The Ashes, it became massive in 2005 when it was on channel 4, I remember being at work when the Edgbaston test was on and even 'non cricket fans were watching it on the TV that was put on'. Then cricket disappeared from the TV. Back to the CL. Yeah I don't really give a crap about it. It becomes a hassle to try and set up any kind of way to watch it live. I only really get interested when there's a shock result like Ajax last night, or Man U're tonight There are still an awful lot of 'casual football fans' out there that would only watch it if it was on terrestrial TV. I would include myself in that (mostly) and especially my dad (who actually watched the 2nd half of England v Japan in the Shebelieves cup last night 'because it was on bbc' - hence easily available - but certainly wouldn't have even considered watching had there been any 'hassle' involved).
  2. A sponsorship by Godfather beer would be very apt. As a side note, I heard it's also very bitter. Ooohhh!
  3. It's terrible how there's no terrestrial TV coverage any more. Even long after pay TV had taken over (last season) there was still a late night highlights show on ITV. Now there is nada.
  4. Yes. If he manages to sell 6 Perspex replica shirts in India it can only be a good thing. Didn't Everton once sign a Chinese player in order to 'shift a few shirts in the East'?
  5. He looks like an amazing player.
  6. Everyone round to Ramos's house for the QF? ?
  7. Do you still feel so positive 2 years on? ?
  8. The 90s are taking a real bashing. A stroke at 52? Jesus! Sod saving for retirement. It's time to take reverse retirement if anything.
  9. I was only reading an article about him last year. How he moved to the countryside to settle down, got some dogs and even owned a pub for a while. I know they spanned 80s to the present. But essentially another part of the 90s has died (like Beastie Boys, Cranberries, Soundgarden).
  10. As a Citeh fan since 1998, of course Citeeeeeehhhhh all the way. We saw how many of the Pool glory hunters crawled out from under the woodwork during the FA Cup replay 4 (holy crap!!!) year's ago. They are literally everywhere around here, like Woodlice.
  11. Another suicide.?
  12. Agree. No chance of us going down this season. The games are running out - 2 teams are already doomed and there is little chance that all of the other teams below us are suddenly going to go on winning streaks - especially when you take the fact that they are mostly all crap, some of their remaining games will be against teams fighting for promotion (pretty much still half of the league), then throw in a few where they will face each other (obviously both teams can't win). In addition to that, as this league has shown all season even a team that is in decent form can come to Ewood and shockingly embarras themselves for no apparent reason (Hull City). As when Mowbray gave up the season with us just a few points off the play-offs our season is about holding on for 17th place. Even if we don't get another point (very unlikely) we'll still stay up. However if there were 16 games left I'd be a bit more concerned. It's holiday time on the pitch. The only thing we are waiting for now is to see if Brereton can score before he's made more appearances than Chris Brown... Then watch laughably as some posters here tell us 'see he's brilliant after all'. ?
  13. It simply has to be the bizarre signings. As already noted. 70% of the transfer budget wasted on a novice carthorse. Then the one about the one that's allegedly less fit than the present day Dunn and unlikely to play until 2020. The only thing stopping a complete tin foil hat meltdown is that the surnames of said siginings don't include any Santos, Gomes, or Alves. Get that agent on the blower.
  14. I bet Nottingham Forest would still be able to get £50 million for him.
  15. So there is one 'mouthwatering game' after all. I take it all back...
  16. The famous deep batting line-up on show again today.??
  17. That guy on loan at Southend looked decent today.
  18. Pfffffttttt! That's another for the post 75 collection
  19. About standard for this level. Not exact stats, but from watching over 90% of our games you can only really say the ref is good in about 1 in 8.
  20. Some fans here just need to just relax.
  21. Is that a Madonna lyric?
  22. Well at least it wasn't after 75mins. I suspect that's Rotherham done now as they try to hold out for the win.
  23. The Rovers commentators always sound like stuck records.
