Rovers vs Reading at Virtual Ewood
Oldgregg86 replied to Lancs Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Serious question who would start Bennett over Evans in that position. I certainly would. Buckley would of played further forward for me to unlock a team that sit back. Evans gets a nose bleed near the box and is just as shit anywhere else -

Happy with that except Evans. I’d rather play Gallagher there -

Nothing to fear and an early rovers goal could lead to one of those games like the Coventry, Wycombe, Derby etc. However I fully expect it to be a night of frustration where the first half is one of those way to familiar 0-0s at half time of last season, cautious, cagey, boring. We all remember them. The second half will be More entertaining but equally as frustrating culminating in 0-0 score line. Paying viewers you’ve been warned ? -
Harvey Elliott- let's enjoy this season together

He seems a yard quicker than everyone else in every way. Nice to see such energy and willingness. He plays without fear the opposite of how brereton has been since signing. Hopefully they can bring the best out of each other . Exciting times to be a rover ? -

Sadly can’t watch this one because I’m at work. Echoing a lot of other people’s thoughts but a win in anyway, style, shape is a must today. Fancy a win and three points today . COYB -
I find it very strange that Tony has one philosophy of playing and the coach he chose and brought to the club has another idea . Surly you employ people from coaches to players to play and coach the way you want the team to play and coach. According to Danny graham they arnt on the same page. This can’t help when preparing for games

A few times I’ve noticed Armstrong could have took it around the keeper and he just fires it straight at him. He’s a terrific finisher but he’s one of those players who if he has time to think he does the wrong thing -
The football ramble is a really good listen . If you like a laugh and 90s football then there is one called quickly Kevin will they score and if there is also a good one abit like under the cosh but for non league conference level football but the stories are good called I had trials once always looking for new interesting podcasts on football so if anyone has any recommendations pm me

I’d have Eddie Howe to. What’s he up to these days. Do you think I’m being to optimistic thinking we could entice him. If not Nigel Pearson is the man

Can anyone help me. I switched to BT a few months ago but pay extra for the sky sports package. So I have all the channels but there is no option for the red button. Does anyone know why or how I get the game on. Surly if I’ve paid for sky I get the red button ? -

Yeah don’t see a goalfest myself. Think it will be 2-0 Watford with the second coming very late on -
Because it’s on red button probably

Yeah that’s how I feel. I’m well aware there is probably ten teams in this league with the same ambitions, same ability etc and it’s recognised as one of the most difficult leagues in the world for a reason. Even with the squad assembled I don’t demand a top six finish. I do demand that we do everything and leave no stone unturned so if we fall short it’s because we simply wernt good enough. If I can clap them off the pitch at the end then you can’t really ask for more from the players. If we could clearly see Tony’s game plan and in game management and it made sense even if I didn’t agree with it then I’d be happy with that. it’s when we lose at home to a lesser team and we didn’t bust a guy to get the winning goal, the lack of urgency and then things like nyambe on the bench and Gallagher on the wing that leaves you feeling short changed and frustrated. I don’t want what if this season . I want get in or oh well we gave it a bowyer ( a phrase adopted For the kids homework) -
I think it’s not as black and white as were trying to make it. For instance fergie was known to be ruthless with his players and even stricter with the young lads but cantona generally got away with most things . You do have to set a standard and risk upsetting players whilst getting the best out of players that won’t respond anything but negatively to authority. It’s down to man management and I hate the guy but no doubt fergie was the best at it
-
Yeah that came across also . Danny’s attitude probably didn’t help Tony’s decision if he was telling the truth about motorway. I get why Tony might have made the decision he did
-
??
-
I get what your saying id like to think I’d get given a break in that circumstance as a one off. If Tony did that to me I would be annoyed and think he wasn’t very understanding. If it happened again then fair enough
-
When you consider the whole club could of been at stake without promotion and the start we had it’s a good job they did find some form and professionalism because those early games could of cost us a lot more than a few bad defeats
-
Think the motorway thing is abit harsh as a one of but agree with the rest .

Might not be a popular opinion and don’t get me wrong I do like the guy. He gave me his shirt in Austria before he didn’t pay the taxi driver and ended up in the nick but he did come across as a bit of a man child. We’re about the same age but he didn’t seem very professional. Him and dacky might have enjoyed nights out but I wasn’t enjoying working overtime and travelling for hours to watch his lethargic overweight ass struggle as Southend battered us. The night in Manchester after we got promoted he talked like the season was done . There was a league title at stake plus other little comments and his attitude confirmed the holiday mentality with the we best do abit. He was a good player for us as is Dack and I’m sure they arnt the only ones but it just annoys me when they have all summer to have fun with there massive bank balances and can’t be 100 % committed during the season. The start to the league one campaign was abysmal and there coming in with the same body fat as me and playing with hangovers. I didnt think he came across well at all
