  1. At the time of the deal nyambe was the only RB we had , along with Bennett’s role in the dressing room (not that this alone warrants an extension) and ability to cover a few positions to cover injury crisis’ and lesser cup games etc I wasn’t against the Bennett deal. Would equally not been arsed if he didn’t get one but equally not fussed he did.
  2. That’s exactly how I see it.
  3. The first game that springs to mind is the Crewe game and it was kearton in goal. What an extraordinary afternoon that was. Live on sky aswell
  4. Just hope it’s not yo-yoin from top to bottom half of the table.
  5. Agree. Watkins is better in every aspect than arma
  6. Unless they sell them for a tenner each ??
  7. Absolute quality that lad. One of the best in the league imo
  8. Me to . He was one of the best.
  9. I’ve always enjoyed martin Tyler’s commentary . Still do being honest. But every now and again he’s started throwing in random things like Andy Carroll with a header. He’s he gets his hair cut at the same hairdressers as David Ghandi . It’s just unnecessary imo. But his voice I’ve grown up with and still love his style so I let things like that slide lol
  10. Trying to be realistic in a difficult unpredictable league 0-0 against a decent Cardiff team after the start we’ve had is a decent result. Against ten men it’s slightly disappointing but it is what it is. Hopefully we can carry on after the Break with a few first teamers nearer to fitness And improve the way we hope. I’m quite a negative poster due to the last ten years but from what I’ve seen over the years we would have lost one nil today and been throwing the hard luck lines out. As it is we are in the top six and have played reasonably well overall and exceptional at times so I’m going to try and keep the positivity going. I do keep my cautious head as I know we are only a draw and defeat away from a horrendous run or equally a surprising run of results but that’s the league we’re in . i thought rothwell played really well today until the final third where he’s final ball or shot were poor but I believe he will score goals if Tony keeps faith in him. The midfielde three look good together with holtby as the anchor but I would like to see Buckley really break into the first 11 and make the difference in games like today where defences need unlocking . I like the look of the new keeper. Plays it safe rather than gambles and his kicking is decent . Brereton is a strange one as I had completely wrote the guy off yet somehow this season I watch him and think there could be a player in there without him actually proving There is. Gallagher needs some slack imo. He’s a striker. I said the same about Armstrong and never wrote him off when people wanted him dropping and Gallagher is nothing but a poor mans andy Carroll. Play him to his strengths or don’t play him at all. Overall I’m more optimistic than I was at the start of the year but I’m sure it’s going to be much of the same win a few , get a few scalps, lose at home to some fodder draw a few and just miss out as usual, difference is I’m actually enjoying it this season unlike last which had me tearing my hair out And a third clean sheet is in a row is something to be proud of considering the worries we had defensively
  11. Love the way rothwell drives at defenders
  12. Decided last minute watch this. Didn’t cost me an extra three quid. Couldn’t believe my luck
  13. Kits driving me mad with a blurry stream can hardly make out whose who
  14. I agree. That’s a sound investment that will pay dividends in the bank and on the pitch . It’s still extortionate prices but in the current market and going rate it’s a good deal IMO
  15. He did. hes probably sacked half a dozen people who usually do it due to the unforeseen circumstances with COVID. Has to justify his wage somehow
  16. Ok thanKyou everyone. I have a bt box but the channel goes from 37 then 39 and it isn’t there. I’ve done a reset and it still isn’t on.
  17. Didn’t want start a thread so thought I’d just ask here as it’s a similar issue. i have bt in my home and lay for all the sports and sky sports etc. However I cannot get the quest channel which is a free view channel so I’m missing all the highlights. Does anybody else have this problem or have a solution ?
  18. I agree but I think every club in this division is in the same boat. No teams can get the injuries we have and replace like for like. It is what it is really
  19. How’s Cardiff done in there opening games . We all no being a rover your head makes predictions of 0-0 and 1-0 Cardiff after such highs of recent weeks but I believe we will continue in our impressive form and win, albeit not as comfortable as the last two games. Just hope this isn’t the crashing back down to earth moment we’re all so accustomed to COYB
  20. Feel for ya pal. the worst thing I did was I got back on the pitch and ignored advice the first time I did it. My knee constantly swelled and I couldn’t walk properly Monday to Thursday then I’d play again all weekend. I think that made the second time I did it far worse. I can only suggest really taking your time getting back on the grass. Make sure your injuries are fully heeled to the maximum they can be then take your time building your confidence in a non contact or match environment. When you can out your foot through the ball and twist without pressure you do start to learn what you have lost and what is mental. The first time I did it I got my confidence back slowly but it took nearly two years before I was fully convinced it would hold up . A lot of it was in my head and I slightly adapted my game to compensate the little physical damage that remained. I went to the gym and built the muscles up around it to strengthen the area and I wasn’t to bad. The second time was when it was physical in lost everything, turn of pace, power But the most noticeable was balance I couldn’t get near anyone, I couldn’t beat anyone , I couldn’t bring the ball down. A started playing with a few friends who went easy on me but the joy was lost because in your head you can still do it but your body won’t let you. i strongly advise you to take your time getting heeled, get in a gym and strengthen the areas around your injury and the injury itself and then build your confidence twisting and turning, sprinting and kicking the ball from different angles and power before you go back into a match situation before you lose the love for it. Once it’s gone it’s like a bereavement
  21. I honestly believe mine was more like 80 percent mental but when you lose the confidence in turning quickly whether to skin a player or trying to defend against a player that knocks it past you , quick sprints, over stretching for stray passes and tackles and something as simple as putting your foot through the ball to kick with power, the angle your leg is at spraying long passes and taking free kicks, corners etc. Throw in the half a yard pace and your balance being completely different the joy went as I spent the whole game frustrated by myself and the fact I new I would never be the same. Genuine sympathy for anyone in the same position. Also may explain players like Daniel Sturridge, Michael Owen at Newcastle and dare I say it our very own Cory Evans. Any doubt and knowing your going to be out and back to square one with any knock , strain etc it would make you think I’m better missing one or two than risk being out for four or five months
  22. My cousin went out with him for abit and she was saying he had a lot of ankle trouble and could never get out of his head the injury. Something I can sympathise with having done my tendons, cartalidge and ligaments in my right knee plus ankle ligament damage. I loved playing football more than anything and after two years of trying to play after the injury not being able to do what you once could without thinking the joy went out of it for me and I was finished at 22
  23. Unfortunately didn’t get to see any of this and due to COVID I’m completely out of tune with the u23s. i was just wondering what people’s opinions of annesley where. I’ve seen him play maybe four times down at brockhall/leyland and he always seemed to me at least to be the weaker of the CB , had a mistake in him , looked uncertain and even nervy at times and albeit just a few games didn’t see anything that would suggest he would get anywhere near the first team squad. Just curious as to other people’s opinions who have seen a lot more of him than myself
  24. Well the only thing us miserable buggers can moan about tonight is the fact we weren’t all their. Absolutely faultless display from 1-11. I don’t want to repeat to much but holtby was immmense and Brereton, whilst slightly rash with a couple of chances, more than made up for it with his performance . I have nothing to say but we’ll done rovers, well done tony and well done the boys. Just pure pride tonight and nothing else. The first time I’ve felt like this since the Hughes era. Well done lads . You deserve every ounce of credit you get
