1995 away shirt, embroidered badge
Oldgregg86 replied to IrelandsRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The first shirt I had was the dark blue and white mcewans 92/93 shirt. I loved that shirt. The badge wasn’t a sewn on badge but like a bubbly raised badge . I don’t know how else to describe it. I preferred that type of badge. I’m not sure but the shirt you have I think had the type of badge I am describing . I could be wrong but it might be a knock off if it was so cheap -

Football League Suspended

If it did happen would clubs loose there history. Would we lose our premier league title etc. I know this is almost certain not to happen . -
Does anyone remember a pre season friendly at Elwood against wolves. It was 1-0 to rovers. Awful game. Beautiful sunny day and in my young and hazy memory David Thompson scores an absolute worldie from about 35-40 yard near were the thrown in line is. i swear it was one of the best goals I’ve seen but never saw it again and as I’ve got older I’m starting to think I made it up lol. any clarity would be nice

Mulgrews header at Doncaster. That will probably be the only highlight in their whole tenure at this rate and the fact we should never have been there in the first place slightly taints it somewhat

Opinions on Mike Newell
Oldgregg86 replied to IrelandsRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Bit to young to remember him properly but if Shearer speaks highly of him that’s good enough for me -
Continuing a theme of stuff to talk about during these boring and difficult times I started thinking about jay mcevelelys performance away at man united where he played unbelievably well against a good united side and I came away from OT thinking we had a real player in our hands yet he never really produced after that. more of a thread for the older lads who can tell us young ones tales of players we won’t of seen or heard of along these lines. The parsons of the world have any stories of under 21 players who should and didn’t make it for various reasons etc any lee makel fans etc
-
Eyal berkovic john Curtis lee carsley I know the latter left under a cloud , but they all put in solid performances on a consistent basis and never really get mentioned . Just first three that came to mind david Thompson was another

Never saw him play but heard terrible things of Richard witscghe (however that’s spelt ) not just his ability but had a really divisive attitude. If anyone can remember him ? there have been so many poor players under the venky reign I think it should be pre venkys worst 11 because I could name a squad of 30 post

There was an old shoot magazine from the nineties that was profiling the best upcoming young talent to watch and comparing them I.e Julian Joachim was supposedly the next John Barnes etc lee makel was the next Gazza ? -
Rovers best ever Premier League 11
Oldgregg86 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I was only a kid when shearer was playing and he was my idol. Absolutely loved the man. The first few rovers games I went to he was out injured . The only time I saw him play he scored at the Blackburn end....in a black and white shirt. Looking back as an adult I’m devastated I never got the chance to see him in the flesh in a blue and white shirt ?
