Haha just read it back and saw what I did. I was going to say it is a bit daft naming players but I can't disagree with him ?

Is that a real quote from Tony ?

Nothing. He still plays for us

I always remember a West Ham player picking his best 1-11. He named tugay and you could here the the shock in the presenters tone, then the West Ham player goes on to describe what a player he was. Normally it's player like Ronaldo, xavi, scholes etc so I was surprised when he was picked by a random hammer

I often think this myself. As a player that suffered with nerves and confidence I knew I had the ability ( at the level I played at) and when on form was usually one of the best on the pitch, if doubt set in or confidence dropped I was a shell of the player i could be and that was only at school and town level, so I do have sympathy towards players in that regard. I do believe some players take time for reasons like this, albeit on a far grander scale. If you throw moving to a new area and settling in it must be difficult for some, if not most. That's why we can't be to hard and write players like brereton off at this stage. However there does come a point where you have to start improving and that's down to attitude in training. Ryan nyambe is a perfect example of what seemed a physically able player that lacked in confidence/attacking ability who has improved immensely to be the best rb at the club. Then you see other players especially at u23 level who, year after year, the same flaws to their game are ever present. With the time , coaches and technology available I find it staggering, how , if your attitude is right , you can't improve , sometimes on such basics skills that are lacking. -

Everyone is throwing nuttall hat in the ring. Here's a thought. Why not use adam Armstrong in the correct position. He also scored but actually meant to. He is a striker and a good finisher. Goals breed confidence. We have the players if Tony would bloody use them. We need width, a proper winger. We have nuttall, brereton, Armstrong, graham, Samuel and gladwin for one spot and we are still searching for a striker . Meanwhile 69 year old Craig Conway is our only real winger -
I think he could play there for that reason, but not in the current system Tony uses

Lenihan deserved his mom and Rodwell played very well. He should be getting more game time imo. Travis has made that midfield place his to lose. With another good performance he has made it impossible for Tony to drop him, something we all are expecting brereton to do at some point, and this lead me to my next question. Whilst I don't rate nuttall and stand by my comment that he isn't good enough to hold down a place in our starting 11 he put himself about, scored and off that performance should be ahead of brereton. With Ben gladwin to feature in LT soon for his shearer Esq finishing in training and Samuel back in the summer where does this leave ben for the foreseeable ? -

Agree and to be honest as bad as brereton has been I honestly think nuttall is worse. Delighted Butterworth got on the bench. He would start over nuttall for me. I'm not sure how Bennett is getting in before nyambe at right back. I love benno but he isn't the better of the two in that position -
