Any other manager I would have read that and like you have, took it for what it was. I then look at the starting 11 after his first window and the lack of game time for all the new lads and he does worry me with his comments. After all he is famed for his honesty. I said we should be avoiding relegation this season and we are doing that. Tony has done a great job and still has my backing. What worries me, going forward is, the vision he is selling isn't matching what is happening on the pitch. Strange recruitment, mistakes and errors that never seem to be learned from, square pegs round holes, poor signings and not improving the first 11, wanting to play football and then hoofing it to Graham with no other game plan. He has done wonderful up to now, I just want to see small steps or shoots of hope that point to progression and improvement, whether that be bringing in players that start, players in the right position, getting the ball down and trying to play or a plan b. Even something as basics as coaching the defense to work as a unit for 90 minutes. I bought in to his vision and believe what he says and it's going to take time to achieve it but without being entitled or expecting miracles I do want to see some concrete baby steps that show signs that we are all moving in the same direction. Comments like that and the mismanagement of new players, faith in players who should be dropped and lack of playing style with no signs of him acknowledging his errors worries me greatly. He has my backing and deserves this window and the summer to start showing some real intentions of this vision because at the moment that is all it is

He was also quoted in a LT interview as saying he wants to bring a few bodies in, not to displace anyone but to help them out. It's comments like this that drive me mad. Most can see that the team as a whole lacks the quality to compete at the top end of the table. He says we need a few transfer windows to do this then comes out with a comment like that. We aren't short of numbers, we aren't one or two positions light, we need an overhaul of 4 or five quality first team additions that will come straight into the 11 and displace players that are under performing or don't have the necessary quality to take us to the level we need to be. He also says Joe nuttall had lost his hunger. A very worrying comment on a young player. The last thing that should go is hunger on a player who hasn't even broken into a first team in his life

The fact he invented a german rovers fan to cover for his dyslexia was evil genius ?
-
I shall look forward to his scout report as well as suggesting German managers after every manager gets fired and then quotes the Hamburg fans he speaks to ?

I love Tony. I want him to be a massive success.... But my God I have no faith in him. It's like listening to my overweight chain smoking grandad tell me he's going to complete a half marathon. I love him and I will back him but I have no faith what so ever he can achieve what he has set out to do. I don't believe he will get us promoted. I don't believe he is ruthless enough to make the necessary changes in and out . I don't believe he will build a squad capable of beautiful city-esque passing style of play he keeps telling us he wants to play. I don't believe he will keep our better players long enough to build anything. I don't believe he will give our youth a fair chance and lose some decent talent along the way because of it. I do believe he will continue to play players out of position in unfathomable formations and be loyal to players who should be shipped out. I do believe he will keep talking in ways we all love and not actually do anything pro active to achieve what he says, but i don't want him to ever leave because he has such a lovely soft accent and trust worthy eyes. His little enthusiastic face when he tells tales of old, and the future he envisages , like a newly in love couple on the first day they move in together, full of Hope and passion and belief. They will be the same tales he tells down the pub long after he has retired ending in " if only " . But less of that and get behind the lads ffs Merry Xmas kids

Rovers V Norwich 22/12/18

I think that is what mowbray sees as his best 11. Let's hope the footballing God's are in our side today COYB -
Hudson odoi has been Made available for loan by Chelsea. We should be all over this. Great player. Although the way Palmer has been utilised might scupper any potential chance we had. He will go somewhere and be a star in January. Watch this space

You would have to ask Travis and wharton that. Two players who when I have seen them play first team football had that potential I'm failing to see when Ben plays. Even butterworths 20 minute cameo against Lincoln had more energy, desire and dribbling ability than I have seen ben provide. I wont write him off, purly from what I saw him do against arsenal where he was brilliant but he really needs to kick on now , even from the bench. I just hope financial security hasn't taken his hunger away. Maybe I am being overly critical but I expected far more from a lad who had so many plaudits when he arrived.

Rovers V Norwich 22/12/18

Rovers to take the lead with Norwich to equalise shortly after. Norwich to get two quick goals late on and rovers to snatch a consolation in added time. Jordan Rhodes to do a muted celebration, ben Marshall to dive all over him like they have won the world cup and gloat like a little muppet -
Can we just remember Jason Lowe captained the England u21s. Many players have played at that level never to be seen again. The fact brereton is an England u20 player means nothing to me. The disappointing aspect for me comes off one game I saw him dominate an arsenal defense in the cup and the reputation he came with from Nottingham forest fans who where sad to see him go. If we ignore the fee and the fact he's one for the future and base his performances on what we have heard and what we have actually seen you would think it was two completely different players. His age and the number of games he has played shouldn't be something to hide behind. If mowbray wants to bring him off the bench that's his perogative but imo he should be doing far more to make Tony's selections far harder, the way rothwells cameos do because at the minute he has shown very little that he is half the player forest fans raved about. I expect more from a young lad trying to make his way in the game. Being able to control the ball would be a good start. It's to early to write him off but he doesn't look like he has any stand out quality to even utter the words potential. Surly by now even off the bench we would have seen a glimmer of something to suggest he just needs games. To settle in, a goal to get the monkey off his back. I'm struggling to find any positives from this deal other than he is 19

Sunderland Netflix documentary
Oldgregg86 replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Grayson was the most suprising aspect of the documentary for me. From tv interviews and watching his team play I always thought he was a decent manager but I was surprised at his lack of spark -
Financial disappointment

Joe nuttall will never be good enough for our first 11. The last thing we need is him in the squad when we're trying to move forward. I guarantee mowbray is trying to get him a loan with a view to get him moved on and off the books. He simply isn't good enough and doesn't have the attitude and mentality to make it at championship level. He was poor enough in league one. He's cameos in the first team this season have been poor also
