How much and realistic would the big lad barkhuizen (duno how u spell it) be as a possible signing for us. He's always played well when I've seen him I thought he was taller than 5 ft 9 but he seems strong and could hold the ball up

Wigan V ROVERS 28/11/18

I honestly think he will play another baffling line up and get this message board in overdrive before somehow pulling off a win leaving everybody even more confused on what the hell is going on -

I'd put Smallwood back in nets and plays Raya midfield to utilise his height -

I'd go. Raya Mulgrew. Bell. Williams. Evans Dack. Bennett. Smallwood. Graham Reed. Lenihan -
Cough brereton I think madine is a good realistic option on loan til the end of the season as back up. Id love Rudy but no one has any idea if we're splashing big and tony is reigning them in or if the whole thing is a side show. I find it a strange concept that a manager would reign in the owners regarding spending. Normally it's the other way round ala moanriniho

I think his height, passing range and composure could be a valuable asset providing he has a Reed/Bennett/Smallwood terrier type next to him -
I echo both your sentiments. We all love Tony the man. I'd drink with him til I couldn't stand up and listen to his football stories and develop a man crush as he serenaded me with careless whisper on his saxophone but a footballing genius he ain't. His tactics and line ups are bizarre to woeful. The way he's got the fans back on board and made the club feel something like are own again, or at least something we want to be apart of and invest our time, money and energy isn't to be underestimated. He has done tremendous in this area. He has shipped out the dross and brought in some good signings, one excellent and a few donkeys, as most mangers do. He's brought a good team spirit and got us promoted. All things he rightfully gets his plaudits for. However , he as manager sets the standards. Those standards are to build a squad capable of achieving promotion. It's early doors and I am by no means at this stage even suggesting he should be sacked. That would be ludicrous. The results in isolation are good/acceptable. Is he building a squad capable of promotion ? So far he has recruited to many players in the same positions and left us severely short in others. Whilst you can argue players like Armstrong undoubtedly have the talent is he getting the best out of these players. Dack will inevitably leave before the build is complete. How long will brereton and rothwell watch on from the bench whilst players play out of position. How far does Tony's loyalty stretch , ie a ruthless manager doesn't keep Conway when building for the future, will this be the case with other ageing players as time goes on. Whilst strikers get frustrated playing on the wing, good young players will get frustrated at not getting game time. The lack if belief in brereton can't be doing his confidence any good. We are on a high after last year. It won't take long or much to undo all that hard work he has put in so far. So whilst he has the backing of players, fans and board alike now all of the above will only take you so far . Imo that is the lofty heights we are currently occupying His over complicated tactics and what seems like an inability to spot his own flaws, sticking with players and formations/tactics could prove to be ours and his ultimate downfall. I hope he has what it takes to get us there but I feel like his positive attributes are what have taken us from rock bottom to where we are today. The attributes he lacks are what are needed to take us to the next level and sadly I don't believe he has what is required. In time , I hope I'm wrong, but I fear I will be proven right and he will fall short.

Point 1. After a 4-1 loss he really should at least consider the possibility he got the line up wrong. Point 2. No one is arguing with the choice to use Armstrongs Pace wide. Why did you play Palmer up front when he isn't a striker and you have a seven million pound one you will bizarly not use. Point 3. Yes Tony , it does sound strange, almost idiotic. Point 4. Continues to say we won't look into it to much and they won't be hammered. I agree to an extent about not hammering them, however the casual attitude and we pick ourselves up and go again is the new we gave it a right good go. Winners don't accept 4-1 to a rival with such a casual attitude.

Is there a link to an audio boom anywhere -
Would it not make sense to loan downing out and recall wharton as a back up if he's hardly playing. I think he could cut it at championship level. The Lincoln fan sees him as good enough. If we are building a young side for the future then surly we should be giving young players from our academy a chance. Rodwell, Williams and mulgrew are all experienced to play along side and darragh isn't a pup anymore. Darragh has broken in and nymabe with success and from what I've seen Scott is better than those two where at the same stage in their career. If we can call upon downing when needed then I don't see any harm in bedding Scott in. Coming off the bench the way brereton does in games we are in control of and the fa cup is coming up. We all remember what happened to o Connell and he would be in our squad with ease. Scott situation is very similar imo

I just meant with his wages, he must be on at least 80 grand a week. He's still fit and top quality. He would get in double figures providing we played through the midfield and not over it Gallagher back is more likely. I think that would be a safe loan and more realistic
