The fact Tony has said he sees Ben and Adam playing centrally in the future makes it all the more baffling when he doesn't use them when we need a striker. Armstrong has played up front for a few seasons and he is in his twenties. What is he waiting for. Surly the only way to improve is by regularly playing there and learning your trade. If anything it's stifling his progress. He says he expects us to get to the premiership. Then is he going to unleash him upfront, after years of playing on the wing in the lower leagues, against the best defenders in the world.

The signings in isolation look like decent investments. He has signed some good young players and created a competitive squad and the building blocks to a good team. The signings he brjngs in, in the next couple of windows are going to be an indicator of where we are actually going. However the way he utilises his signings makes no sense. How can we build a team when no one knows where they are supposed to be playing. When players are signed for one position and playing elsewhere. How do we know what positions need strengthening when after half a season nobody knows what players we actually have or what there capable of. It all sounds nice in theory when you listen to a passionate interview or read his ambitions but on the field it's starting to look like an unbalanced mess. If he is to live up to the levels he has set then his next signings have to be first team starters. Preferably proven. As potential is only a word for could be

There's loads of Wigan and united/Liverpool fans up here. They started out with the big clubs until Wigan got to the prem. Then they where die hard proud wiganers until relegation. Fair enough. I believe if he had the managers confidence to play as the main striker and gave him a fair run of games he would find the net. Strikers need confidence. Once he has that I think he would be a very good striker at this level and score the goals required
