  1. I agree. That’s a sound investment that will pay dividends in the bank and on the pitch . It’s still extortionate prices but in the current market and going rate it’s a good deal IMO
  2. He did. hes probably sacked half a dozen people who usually do it due to the unforeseen circumstances with COVID. Has to justify his wage somehow
  3. Ok thanKyou everyone. I have a bt box but the channel goes from 37 then 39 and it isn’t there. I’ve done a reset and it still isn’t on.
  4. Didn’t want start a thread so thought I’d just ask here as it’s a similar issue. i have bt in my home and lay for all the sports and sky sports etc. However I cannot get the quest channel which is a free view channel so I’m missing all the highlights. Does anybody else have this problem or have a solution ?
  5. I agree but I think every club in this division is in the same boat. No teams can get the injuries we have and replace like for like. It is what it is really
  6. How’s Cardiff done in there opening games . We all no being a rover your head makes predictions of 0-0 and 1-0 Cardiff after such highs of recent weeks but I believe we will continue in our impressive form and win, albeit not as comfortable as the last two games. Just hope this isn’t the crashing back down to earth moment we’re all so accustomed to COYB
  7. Feel for ya pal. the worst thing I did was I got back on the pitch and ignored advice the first time I did it. My knee constantly swelled and I couldn’t walk properly Monday to Thursday then I’d play again all weekend. I think that made the second time I did it far worse. I can only suggest really taking your time getting back on the grass. Make sure your injuries are fully heeled to the maximum they can be then take your time building your confidence in a non contact or match environment. When you can out your foot through the ball and twist without pressure you do start to learn what you have lost and what is mental. The first time I did it I got my confidence back slowly but it took nearly two years before I was fully convinced it would hold up . A lot of it was in my head and I slightly adapted my game to compensate the little physical damage that remained. I went to the gym and built the muscles up around it to strengthen the area and I wasn’t to bad. The second time was when it was physical in lost everything, turn of pace, power But the most noticeable was balance I couldn’t get near anyone, I couldn’t beat anyone , I couldn’t bring the ball down. A started playing with a few friends who went easy on me but the joy was lost because in your head you can still do it but your body won’t let you. i strongly advise you to take your time getting heeled, get in a gym and strengthen the areas around your injury and the injury itself and then build your confidence twisting and turning, sprinting and kicking the ball from different angles and power before you go back into a match situation before you lose the love for it. Once it’s gone it’s like a bereavement
  8. I honestly believe mine was more like 80 percent mental but when you lose the confidence in turning quickly whether to skin a player or trying to defend against a player that knocks it past you , quick sprints, over stretching for stray passes and tackles and something as simple as putting your foot through the ball to kick with power, the angle your leg is at spraying long passes and taking free kicks, corners etc. Throw in the half a yard pace and your balance being completely different the joy went as I spent the whole game frustrated by myself and the fact I new I would never be the same. Genuine sympathy for anyone in the same position. Also may explain players like Daniel Sturridge, Michael Owen at Newcastle and dare I say it our very own Cory Evans. Any doubt and knowing your going to be out and back to square one with any knock , strain etc it would make you think I’m better missing one or two than risk being out for four or five months
  9. My cousin went out with him for abit and she was saying he had a lot of ankle trouble and could never get out of his head the injury. Something I can sympathise with having done my tendons, cartalidge and ligaments in my right knee plus ankle ligament damage. I loved playing football more than anything and after two years of trying to play after the injury not being able to do what you once could without thinking the joy went out of it for me and I was finished at 22
  10. Unfortunately didn’t get to see any of this and due to COVID I’m completely out of tune with the u23s. i was just wondering what people’s opinions of annesley where. I’ve seen him play maybe four times down at brockhall/leyland and he always seemed to me at least to be the weaker of the CB , had a mistake in him , looked uncertain and even nervy at times and albeit just a few games didn’t see anything that would suggest he would get anywhere near the first team squad. Just curious as to other people’s opinions who have seen a lot more of him than myself
  11. Well the only thing us miserable buggers can moan about tonight is the fact we weren’t all their. Absolutely faultless display from 1-11. I don’t want to repeat to much but holtby was immmense and Brereton, whilst slightly rash with a couple of chances, more than made up for it with his performance . I have nothing to say but we’ll done rovers, well done tony and well done the boys. Just pure pride tonight and nothing else. The first time I’ve felt like this since the Hughes era. Well done lads . You deserve every ounce of credit you get
  12. For me nyambe should start but tony has chosen to play a team that won the last game 5-0 so no problem for me keeping the same team. If we win or draw and play well fine. If JRC has a mare against a team I’m expecting to be defending against (hence why I would start nyambe and backed his decision last week) then he will deservedly get called out and criticised
  13. I know he divides opinion but I genuinely would give him away for free. Im sick of seeing him miss games , shine for Northern Ireland and then the few games he plays he is mediocre and have enough players to do the job he does as well , if not better , on a more consistent basis. He’s a wasted wage . Get rid
  14. Its the old gerrard lampard scholes debate again. It’s a difficult question and one that not only needs asking but answering. I think we have to get dack back in as soon as he is fit. How and where I don’t know depending on the teams performance before he returns. I do think like the old England debate it’s important to play the best team not the best players . I suppose we need to get dack fit and see how the sytem works with him in it and take it from there with my main point in mind
  15. Agreed. Yet if uncle jack asked after putting his money where his mouth is I’m sure sales wouldn’t even drop. Take note swaggott. With all much uncertainty everywhere and your massively unjustified salary your going to lose a lot of the core . Once that’s gone you have no heartbeat and we all know what happens after that
  16. I’d rather have the players on their toes worried they will lose there place if standards drop. Enough with the uncle Tony act. They should be thinking if he’s looking for better it won’t be me. Not I’m a guaranteed starter
  17. What about more recently the Jason Steele ball to emnes , whose touch was a thing a pure beauty before bamboozaling two Wigan defenders and slotting home for a well needed 1-0 win. regarding Buckley the first thing that made him stand out to me was the space he found himself in, the time he had on the call to pick the passes, he just made the game so easy with the time on the ball he had
  18. I’ve watched us lose to Leicester , Bournemouth and Newcastle, missed the Wycombe game because of work and I’m sorry to tell you all I will be watching this one so don’t listen to mercer and keep your cash in your pockets ?
  19. The skinny Tugay ? ? BUCKLEY eat a Turkish delight in all honesty I’ve seen him harass and win balls back the way travis does albeit in the youth set up. He is as good defensively as he is going forward. With his vision and passing ability he could play that role , however I think he’s better playing further forward like that unit Foden does ?
  20. Can’t listen at work but a brief summary would be appreciated or a link to listen later
  21. I’ve no doubt in my mind Buckley will be the first name on the team sheet within 18 months and the one we are desperate to keep hold of
  22. Well this helps my arguement that if the taps are turned off we need to give as many of the youth lads ( that are good enough) minutes in a season we won’t get promoted to find out who is good enough and get them as much experience as possible Ready for next to give us the best chance of survival, raising the price of our assets and going into a season as relatively prepared as possible in any scenario
  23. I’m going purely off if it’s a choice between one signing or a few loans. If things change where we can bring two or three signings in then my comment is obsolete. I’d rather play Wharton if we are bobbling around midtable , maybe give magloire a game etc and re asses in summer. If we’re “in the mix “ then get the right players on loan to get us over the line
  24. Going off what Tony has said I think we need to spend the lot on a decent left back, see where we are in the next window and then if we are looking like we can sustain a play off place , go to India , show them how vital it is we don’t blow our best chance, ask them to sign a cheque or two (as we all know they never refuse) and get the quality in on loan to push us to where we need to be, if we are still mid table and inconsistent then save the begging bowl for the summer window and give some youth a chance if anyone is ready to step up or wee with the willy we have
