In his prime he's an average championship centre back. He's not in his prime as we all knew before he signed. Therefore he is either injured or a lower championship centre back. Whichever, it's a waste of 10-15k per week.

I think it's the other way round. Telegraph will be reliant on the advertising spend of local football clubs, they won't piss them off. Advertising sales are very hard to come by so upsetting one of your largest best spending customers won't go down well with the management of the newspaper group.
